Story
Eons ago, Hephaestus created a small yet powerful crystal to use in times of war. Unfortunately, the crystal was so potent, even the gods began to fight over the trinket. So, Zeus decided to put the weapon in the hands of a pure and good-hearted mortal. In exchange for guarding the gem, the man would become immortal. Should he fail to keep it safe or use it himself, the man would be condemned to eternal torture.
For thousands of years , the man lived by himself and guarded the treasure. Rumors of his duty were passed from mouth to mouth until it became just a legend only children believed. However, an ambitious man wanted to find the truth for himself.
Defeating all obstacles that blocked him from his target, the ambitious one finally broke into the guardian's home. The guardian was defeated as well, and the ambitious one finally found the hidden weapon.
Though the guardian ordered him to stop; that he would die from trying to control the weapon, the ambitious one did not listen. In the end, the weapon was absorbed into his body, and man became demon.
Crazed with the god's power, he tried to ascend to the gods in order to become one of them. They shunned him, and banished him to the underworld, making it impossible for him to even rise to the earth.
A single warrior was ordered to look after the ambitious one and ensure he would never break free and use the god's own weapon against them.
For thousands of years, all was silent. Then, the demon escaped his cage.

Setting
It's not set in modern times. Wars are fought with swords rather than guns. The main setting is a large city called Thadorae. The city is made of stone and is rich from trade. To the east is the ocean, and to the south there's a large farming community. To the north are the mountains, and past that is an icy territory no one bothers with. To the west there's the flatlands. Past the flatlands is a vast desert not many cross and live to tell about it.
There are small villages to the north, west, and south that are all part of Thadore, but are mostly lower class workers rather than the higher class merchants and even higher ranking military personnel and nobles that live in the center of the city.
The Kawa River starts at the Umi Lake in the west and travels south and east to the ocean. This is the main source of freshwater.

Alexandra felt the earth shake. She looked to the heavens, wondering if Poseidon was causing earthquakes again. A moment later, the silence of the forest cracked with a deafening explosion. Her face lost all color as the realization hit her:
he had escaped.
But how? She had checked the seals herself, and none had the slightest crack. They were well protected and cleaned by the citizens of Theradorae, who thought they were shrines for the gods. Unless someone had destroyed them all in one night, there was no way for him to have broken out.
She bit her lip, tasting blood but feeling no pain. Her mind was elsewhere. He had escaped while she had watched blindly. It was her personal shame, something only she could rectify. She had to find him.
But first, the gods had to be warned. Shutting her eyes a moment, readying herself, she opened her mouth and called out, "Mercury! I need you!"
A second passed and the god was before her. Before he could speak, she told him. "Tell them the worst has happened. The demon has escaped."
"My, you're in deep shit aren't you?" He said, wincing. Before she could snap at him, he whisked away.
Alexandra grasped the handle of her longest sword and hurried away, trying to sense the power he had stolen.
