Maybe one of our lovely users here would be willing to compose a poem for the Star Eater. I'm sure that he'd appreciate it.

Oh, Star Eater!
None could be sweeter!
With crocodilian visage,
and cat like form.
Truly, he is the one we adore... m.

hey Knerd question for ya! Sorry if someone already asked this - if we can't hold a tune or anything, can we still submit a submission for the singing one?! hahahaha

Challenge Accepted.

Oh Starry Night!

User Name: Jezriel
Title of Piece: Haiku for the Star Eater
Poem:
Catching Flaming Stars
Falling like leaves of fire
Of what do they taste?

As traditional as a Haiku in English can get, it contains the standard 5-7-5 sylable count, a season word, and a 'cut', in this case a question line.

ALL THE MORE REASON!

If you have the confidence to submit a video even if you're a shaky singer, then you'll absolutely make my day. The point is to have fun, after all! No one can mock you for that.

Ha, and Jezriel posted a sneak entry! I'll update the front page right now.

Haha perfect, I will totally submit an entry tomorrow then! I'm not even good at singing in the shower, but I belt it out ALL the time - I sort of feel bad for my friends, but they aren't very good either so I guess it's mutual :P

Now to find a song that fits!

UGH! This would be so easy if I had ONE FLERKING FILE. Some time ago, my External HDD that contained basically my entire life crashed. It still could spin when I gave it to my former University's IT genius (and one of my two IT mentors) for file recovery, but it was so bad he couldn't get anything.

Basically I had a 'midi ish' track of the whole orchestration, choir, and solo of the song I want to sing, and I could sing with me being heard clearly, plus it was lowered a key for the sake of a mezzo's range (long story).

When I recorded my choir part, I had my sound technician create a file of just me singing with the 'click track'. However, we all know about SOPA/PIPA and how despite those laws not being passed our favourites like megaupload got the plug pulled.

I uploaded my files (me alone with nothing, for the project, and then me singing along, for fun and for myself) to a site that no longer exists (sharemole) that distributed it to as many others as it could. At the time, wupload, zshare, and filesonic all seemed to take it. Well know I want my damn file of me, for the sake of me making a video of me singing with me- and I can't find it ANYWHERE!

I even went on archive.org for chrisssake. My friend who does my recordings has an overflowing hard drive as it is and doesn't keep ANY of my old stuff so I know that is out. Damn. It was such a fun idea, too... This is one of those weeks where everything seems to be going WRONG.

How many days left do we have? I'm not sure if I can "compete" with an established counter-tenor plus a whole choir that could fill an auditorium plus the national orchestra of wales for the sake of my video... -_-;

This contest ends when the event ends, so try to get everything done by September 30th, at approximately 6pm Pacific (8pm Central).

It's 10:40 in the morning now and I haven't slept at ALL last night. I just made myself some eggs and toast and took some pain meds so chances are I won't wake up until after the sun has set, which makes the lighting impossible for videos. My schedule has been getting better, one hour at a time... maybe I'll set an alarm for 8 PM tonight (earlier this week I wasn't waking up till midnight, ten, I was proud last night when I woke up at 9). Tomorrow maybe if I can't sleep I can set an alarm to do the video (vs the whole bleeding national orchestra) and get it done before 6 PM) Yes, I live in California.

My idea is awesomesauce, but lighting makes a huge differene in my room. Before I made my 3 videos before I looked like... well the picture with the wallscroll in the background. By the third song I had to light a candle on my desk, and when I was done I took a picture of me looking rather sleepy/grouchy holding the candle. The one 'light' in my room is on during both pictures but it's in my closet space -_-;

You almost never hear me say this but... I need sunlight .

ALRIGHT! I read the rules and I think I followed them properly...I hope I didn't have to have my face in the entire video, I was taking the video with my phone and since I couldn't actually see myself it was hard to keep it steady...so you only get to see me at the beginning...HOPE THAT'S COOL.

Belt it Out!

SPOILERX

I'm part of a great forum,
Where there's a great event,
The people come from all over,
And this is what they said!

The members here are great,
We use the stars are bait,
To keep the aliens,
From going home too late.

The staff have tons of threads,
Where we can play some games,
Woody gives you maps
And Knerd gives you fame.

Jeryck & Cessy,
They love to see your art
Daria loves avatars
And Belly makes a tart!

Did you know about the items?
They're really very nice,
The Star Eater would say,
They're even a great price!

Have you met the goddess of Feast?
She really is quite friendly,
Ask her for her recipes,
And you'll definitely get many!

Let's not forget about
The lovely misses dance,
She puts on a great show,
Join her if you have the chance.

Finally we have we
Song our goddess too
Her voice is quite fantastic
Let her sing for you!

I hope you liked this tune,
It's really is quite silly
This is Randee saying,
Thank you for listening!

i was trying to think of a famous limerick to draw the masses in and then twist it a little to make it celestial and also be funny... and it's a funny scene picturing a drunk star, sloshing his poor little bucket of star dust around and then getting to face the bad end of skunk :) i'd move too

Unfortunately, I'm a bit pressed for time at the moment. My grandfather only has a few more days and needs round the clock care, so I've been helping out...I've been singing to him and I'd like to enter that song into the contest. PMed you about it, Knerd.

EDIT: Nvm, doubt I'll have time to record anything before the event ends.
