I did anime style watercolor illustrations with painted text for my senior project. Never got grief from any of my teachers. Innocent questions as why that style perhaps. Only grief I got was during one on one meetings with museum curators and gallerists as part of my final art class. Not everyone understands the style can be totally unique and mine. I would get upset if a teacher irked on me for it.

That's cool. It's good that you had a good experience like that. I got grief from time to time, but I usually just shrugged it off. Of course I did get irked when he would do a one on one mini-critique with us before a project was do, give us advice/suggestions on art work and then if we took his advice and made changes he suggested to make the piece "stronger" at the final critique he would be all it was better before you changed it and stuff. My one friend ended up changing majors because he kept doing that to her and she couldn't deal with it because it stressed her out so much.

It is true that not everyone understands that. I rather my art be unique and mine. Probably part of why one of my favorite styles is surreal.

One of my friend's had a similar experience to that. Art has become such a stressful thing to her. The only downside to my art classes if I often feel like I learned nothing and didn't grow much.

I've always liked more cartoon styles. I enjoy chibis too and styles like Lisa Frank. Something vibrant and childish. Because sure, why can't that be popular?

It's sad when something you enjoy becomes stressful. When you feel that way it doesn't help either.

Same here. I can take or leave chibis. I like styles like Lisa Frank and Nene Thomas. I don't see why they can't be popular. They have their own charm due to their vibrance and childishness.

So long as you've made it your own, it's great. There's this artist, Jeremiah Ketner that uses proportions like that a lot and totally owns it.

*stalks conversation* This is all very interesting for me, since I'm at a point where I need to start deciding if I'm going to college and what classes I'm going to take if so. I've still got a lot of time to think about it though.

Anyway, your conversation about art classes reminds me of something my grandmother told me once. She had met an art professor or something like that, who said that art classes are almost a bad thing, since they limit your creative abilities and try to tell you how to do certain things kinda 'cookie cutter'. Have either of you heard that before?

To help ease any confusion this is Fiaria who I was hoping I had really became in the world of Iruna. This is Ara'mis whom she shares a complicated relationship with. One of those we love each other, but refuse to tell the other because we are bad for each other yet we can't just totally stay away from one another.

That's what a bad art class is like. I did all my upper level classes at an art school where that would never be a problem. It was very you can do anything and anything can be good. Go where the wind takes you and we teachers will sit here and watch you be you.
