Aren Silverleaf--Not many know his last name though. He was originally of elven descent. However, he became a vampire pet of the owner of Guilty Pleasures.

Jason--Jason's not a vampire though, he's a werewolf bouncer.

Jason glanced around, observing the line. It was ridiculously long. Guilty Pleasures was a bar and vampire strip joint found at the heart of Iron Forge, a rather dirty human capital. The area outside of Iron Forge was eternally under ice, and mangy wolves and bears roamed freely. Those were often unfit to eat. To the south were caves; some of which were inhibited by disgusting troggs (think smeagol). In order to remain there, those who ran GP had the tightest rules and were very thorough about being nice to the humans. The Vampiric Court was much less lenient than the humans about their laws, and it kept track of its own. Guilty Pleasures served to get the vampires money, not food. Food had to be gotten as donations, not forced. This was a lovely idea in theory, but in practice, many humans abused this.

Under these new rules, once fierce and ancient vampires had to beg for a meal, and were reduced to doing ridiculous tricks and favors and often abused and cut up, at the promise of food. It wasn't uncommon nowadays for a human to promise blood in exchange for sex, since vampires did not carry diseases. Now, however, it was equally common that the more sadistic clients would torture and cut up the vampire they invited over, and rape and nearly kill them, then toss them out without giving anything. This drove some vampires to rebell and kill the human client. When that happened, the Council captured the rogue vampire and tortured till death. It had to be done, or the delicate peace between the two species would be broken. Although vampires were stronger, humans were more plentiful. Guilty Pleasures, in particular, was at the mercy of human whims. For that reason, Jason had to check every single person that came in quite thoroughly for silver and religious items.

It was the most boring job on earth. His eyes occassionally drifted to Aren though, the newest addition to the place. Newly dead? No. He had been dead a while, but merely not here. The work of art bore his sire's mark. Absolutely silent when he moved, like some giant cat. The silvery ringlettes on his ankles strangely made no sound; only the bells attached did.

Each week or so, there was some new program. This week, the theme had been a bit reminiscent of Athenian culture. Jason kept checking people, waiting for his shift to end so he could get some food. Roasted quail was delicious, and he could hear the vendor shouting outside. Nothing like quail to go with black label rum. Nothing like Aren to improve any meal a thousandfold.

A vampire at least a foot taller than Jason walked past him and into the bar. A set of blood red eyes shot down at the other, just in case he made any attempt to stop him from entering. There was a golden brooch keeping his cloak up, and right in the middle there lay the crest of the clan that mainly ran the bar and strip joint. As he looked down at Jason, he noticed that he hadn't been changed into a vampire, and this made the elder smile a little. However, he had a feeling that he already had someone to watch over him during these dark and confusing times. The male just sighed and he walked into the bar. He walked through all of the dancing people, his fingers touching every one, making them all melt. Good thing about being the height he was and having the power that he did, he made all of the vampires and humans melt and want to have him. However, he wasn't the type of vampire to just want to jump into bed with someone. No, he had morals and wasn't an idiot when it came to sleeping with someone. Especially the "entertainers" they had for the strip joint. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he got through the crowd and walked through another door, going into a large room where many of the other elder's were sitting.

He was greeted nicely, with some 'Good evenings' and 'Welcome, Phoenix.' That was the way that Phoenix was always greeted, since no one wanted to get a beating from him or an earful of many harsh words. The elder sat down on a chair and one of the "entertainers" came over to him and sat in his lap. It was the same one that came over to him every night, so he really didn't mind about it. Though, he heard one of the other vampires say that they had to discuss who was going to be Jason's sire. "Wait a minute...who's Jason?" The elder asked, tilting his head to the side a little, trying to keep a straight face as he felt his pet's breath on his neck. He cleared his throat after swallowing the lump that had formed in his throat.

---

After hearing what Phoenix said, one of the women stood up and crossed her arms. "If you didn't notice when you entered, dumbass, Jason is the one that's at the front door. He's the bouncer," She said and put a hand down on the table rather loudly. "And if it's a matter of who's going to be his sire, I will. Wouldn't want to see him fall into the wrong hands." Her indigo colored eyes went straight to Phoenix, making him scoff. The red-headed female vampire smirked, and then looked at the other elders, getting strange looks from them. She had a feeling they were actually contemplating this in their minds, but she just shook it off. "Look, you can either give him to a sire that's not going to treat him well, or you can give him to me, and he won't get hurt."

Truth was, she had a tendency to be the gentlest sire of them all. The only time she would really hurt her subordinates was if they were being extremely obnoxious and wouldn't take her advice at all. Though, seeing as how that rarely happened, so many new vampires wanted to be her subordinates. "So, what will it be, elders? Phoenix, or myself?" She tilted her head to the side a little, waiting for an answer from them.

{Characters:

Phoenix :: Is one of the most powerful elders of the current clan that's basically in charge. However, he's not the one that's in charge of Guilty Pleasures. His older brother is the one in charge.

Carmella :: Headstrong, gentle, and an outright honest vampire. Is willing to teach Jason what it's like to be a vampire, without hurting him.}

Aren Silverleaf, graceful as always, had ears unlike any other. It was said he could hear anything whispered at night, because he was partly night elf. Others said it was because his sire, the one who created him, was almost a dark deity herself. Whatever the case, he listened intently, rather curious as to what was going to happen. He'd never seen something such as this discussed before; usually people were "brought in," so to speak, out of necessity or pre-made somehow. It wasn't often a decision made on the spot then carried out.

Maybe Jason knew something he shouldn't, to have caused this to land on himself. He wondered what he should do. Did Jason even know? Aren focused for a few more seconds to ensure his safe landing; this was a little tricky because of balance, but he did it beautifully and smiled seductively back at the crowd, whose heavy breathing interested him more than the verbal feedback did. He tuned out their speeding heartbeats and honed in on Jason's mind. Ever so gently, like a child taking out a single dandelion seed, he opened the walls that Jason had formed. He sought answers. Did Jason agree to it? Did he do something? Does he even know?...

Apparently he didn't.

Aren would have to wait until after this dance.. Was Jean there? Jean-Claude was the Master of the City; Iron Forge's Guilty Pleasure was merely one of several of his operations. Technically speaking, Jason was under his protection, and if different people wished to claim Jason, it would be up to Jean to decide. But...Jean-Claude was out dealing with the High Priestess, who had some issues with the vampires.

Aren waited for what seemed like an eternity; going through all the movements but his mind was elsewhere. He could hear them speak, and hear what was going on, and because Phoenix was Jean's sibling, most agreed with him. Finally, when it was done, Aren left from behind the curtains, and covered most of the room in what seemed like a walk at the pace of a sprint.

"Jason, can you check with Nathaniel or Giselle and see what happened to the leather whips?" He made sure Jason was out of the room before continuing.

"Phoenix, Carmella, what brings you here?" He asked, courteously but cautiously. "Jean's out at the moment. Is there something I may help the two of you with?"

Ooc: Carmella=female?

OOC: Carmella is a female^-^ Didn't we say that the new sire was going to be one? Also, I guess I was a little confused at the beginning. Is Jason the one that they're going to be turning or is it going to be someone else?

Phoenix looked at Aren, his eyes narrowing a little bit. For some reason, he didn't like Aren, though, he'd never really say anything about it to him. Though he most likely thought it was because Aren was a pet at the night club for other vampires. "No kidding, Jean's out at the moment. He's looking for some more wine for the bar," He told him and dusted himself off. He cleared his throat and looked at Carmella and then glanced around the room, deciding that it needed to be decorated a little more. It was rather bland looking, though, he's always been trying to get Jean to try and change it up a little bit more.

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he looked at the floor. "I just came for the meeting, so, I'm leaving now," He told him. The older vampire walked past Aren and started towards the door. He passed Jason on the way, his eyes looking down at the other once again, though he didn't say anything. As he left, the argument that he and Carmella had had during the meet ran over and over through his mind. He shook his head.

Stupid woman, He thought to himself as he went towards his house. When he got there, he stopped outside the gate and stared up at the sky, wishing that it could always be night, though it never would. Letting out a soft sigh, he walked through the gate and into his house, happy that he lived alone. Though it did get a little lonely in there sometimes, and he usually wished that he had someone to be there with him. After a soft shake of his head, he made sure all the blinds were shut and then went into his kitchen, opening his fridge and pulling out a package of blood, since he didn't feel like feasting on anyone at the moment.

Ooc: Hehe, ok that works too. Jason could be a recent addition for finding out something or the other. A murder instead of an accidental death of a Council Member would do it. :D

Aren didn't blink. Actually, most vampires didn't blink, but with Aren, he tended to forget to appear human, forget to blink for example, when he was nervous.
"Ah, my apologies.." He bowed to Phoenix. He knew his place, but watched others carefully. It wasn't unusual for a few deaths to occur in Guilty Pleasures once in a while, and the human authorities didn't give a damn about non-humans.

Jason blushed awkwardly when Phoenix stared at him, he realized it must look rather weird to have 7 leather whips in his hand..but...Aren told him to go find the leather whips, so he did! It wasn't his fault Aren hadn't specified which type.
"scuse me, Sir.." He whispered in passing. He hurriedly ran over to Aren, nearly tripping over one of the longer whips.

"Is everything ok?" He asked, feeling some tension in the air.

"Yeah...everything is fine. Can you drop those off backstage?" Aren replied, leaping back onto the stage with an agility surpassing any cat. "Sorry for the interruption, ladies, gentlemen.."

Aren went back to pleasing the crowd, captivating them with his seductive voice and movements.

Jason wandered back through the side door, a scream catching in his throat when he barged into a dark figure. It was Jean. Jason exhaled.

"GODZES JEAN! Can't you come in through the front like any normal person?! What are you trying to do?! Gimme a heart attack?!" Jason rambled. Jean laughed, voice like caramel, and patted Jason on the head like some puppy.

"Tsk tsk. I hired you to be my security guard and you don't even notice I'm walking right towards you?" Jean-Claude smirked, pushing a brown paper bag full of wine to the other man. "Here, help me hold this..oh..whips? Mmmm...! Maybe bring those to me later, along with the wine?"

Jason said something snappy to Jean-Claude, but Jean was watching Aren. Something was off slightly. He half-consciously patted Jason again and left him up to do the busywork, glancing at the door. One of the other bouncers had taken over while Jason was out, but what had happened to set Aren so on edge?

As he walked past one of the tables, he noticed a lingering fragrance of power; Phoenix had been here...and......someone else....Carmella? Maybe.

Ah. That explained it. Jean signalled to Aren, and Aren soon wound up his dancing, asking Gabriel to start his shift a touch early. Aren had much to discuss with Jean.

OOC: Ok^-^

Phoenix sighed and tossed the empty package of blood when he was done with it. The normally calm and understanding vampire had become frustrated. He still couldn't get the conversation that he and Carmella had about Jason out of his head. After thinking about it for some time, Phoenix left his house and went back to Guilty Pleasures, figuring that he needed some entertainment that night. Hm. Maybe just to be a pain, he'd seduce Jason. Oh that would be a priceless moment, seeing the looks on his brother's face, along with Aren's and Carmella's. The Elder chuckled to himself as he kept walking.

And no one would be able to do anything about it. His brother wouldn't even be able to stop him from courting the young male. When he walked in, he noticed that Jason wasn't guarding the door and rose an eyebrow slightly. After a small shrug, he walked in the rest of the way, but stopped when he saw Jean standing there, talking to Aren. He scoffed and then walked over and lightly tapped his brother's shoulder.

"Good evening, Jean." The words came out of his mouth slowly and without any shakiness. Not like the way some of the pets and dancers talked to either himself or Jean.

U--Um. G--Good Ev--Evening, M--Master, He played it out in his head, softly chuckling at the very thought of the "entertainers" doing that. But he just shook it off and watched his brother and Aren, glancing around for Jason every once and a while. Where was that boy?

There were many thoughts going through his head as to where he was. One of them including Carmella talking to him, but he hoped that he wasn't with her at all. Just the thought of Carmella becoming his sire ticked him off to no end. He let out a low growl and started to walk away from his brother, not really hearing if he said something to him or not. The Elder was determined to find Jason before Carmella got her hands on him and started to explain what to look out for and what not to look out for when he becomes a vampire. Though, why would they just tell him that he was going to be a vampire?

Phoenix shook his head as he walked through the back door, seeing if the young man was in there, doing something for Aren or Jean.
