What are you studying for, SZP? Which classes, I mean. And, yeah, I'd definitely be interested in your tale.

Yay ~ claps hands frantically~

Ahem, so, my name's Alia ( Ah-Lee-Yah ). In the tamil language, the word for "potatoe" is Aloo ( Ah-Loo). Seeing that it sounds like my name it became my all around nickname.
I'm a fantasy/sci-fi freak and so was my group of school friends. So, we all decided to pick a mythical creature as a kindof code name, so I went with "zombie".
I also love comics and manga. If you notice, they can do a lot of "super" things in those...
SuperZombiePotatoe! A mixture of many of my nicknames... although I have others hee hee!
The End ( Applause )

Oh, I'm doing physics, chemistry and maths. Trying to make up the points I need for medical school.

Aiming for medical school? Sounds intense. What's your eventual career goal?

Also, that's awesome. on the nickname front. I came up with The Wanderer pretty randomly but it seems to fit as I tend to wander in and out of threads and through websites throughout my time online.

I know, right? I thought for sure someone else would have taken it already with it being such a simple name.

Paediatrician! Hopefully...

Um, I like kiddies. I can get along with most quite well and I think that helping a child is just a lot more rewarding. To me atleast, heh.

I'm a college dropout (due to a chronic illness) that started as an education major; I love teaching but hate the public school system. I think that if I had continued my education I would have ended up teaching in a Montessori school or something similar. It's a good thing I love to teach because I'm going to be homeschooling my son. He's in preschool right now and while he likes it, for the most part, it doesn't really work well for my family.

I'd like to be a librarian someday but in the meantime my family is struggling to get by: the boyfriend I live with (*waves at Wicked*) works in a factory as a temp and is hoping to get hired on with a call center in December. I work as a substitute teacher's assistant and am not overly fond of my job - although I love working with the students. Again, really hate the environment.

*glomps Wicked* Nice of you to drop by, love.

Ooo, interesting. I hope everything works out for you guys, I'm sure it will eventually!

The school system over here is pretty whack as well. So many alterations and additions over the years but luckily I'm done! I feel bad for my brother, though. He has autism and goes to a montessori school. He's always saying he has a long way to go, heh. He's good with people but concentration is a bit tough and we don't know how he'll manage later. Oh well...

Why'd you decide on homeschooling?

I got a "w00t." I already more popular than I thought I was going to be. We decided on homeschooling for a lot of reasons, but our own terrible experiences with public education were a big factor.

For a few different reasons.

While not diagnosed with anything, my son is.. well, sensitive. And he has a personality that leads me to believe that he may fall through the cracks in a large classroom. I feel confident in my ability, and the ability of his father, to educate him until he hits high school. And I'm interested in teaching him via methods that aren't really utilized by the public school system - like the whole book method.

Interesting home schooling.
I have social problems. So I would rather stay at home and study.

I would have greatly preferred to have been homeschooled myself but that's not the way the dice rolled for me. Sadly.

Oh, I second that. I did this entire course at home and I go to a tutor once a week. I didn't need to go to any classes and it felt a lot less stessful!
I'm kind of a geeky loner, heh.

Fancy that, a group full of loners. I just don't like being dependent on others work. I prefer being forced into self sufficiency.

Ha, what a coincidence!
I don't think it's selfish, it's a preference. I like doing stuff myself because I have my own way of doing things. Not that I can't talk to people...

I think everyone here can appreciate being able to do things on your own.

Did you see how orange my profile is, Wicked? *grins*
