It was four hundred years ago. The world of Ysnaan recieved a gift from the gods, a sign that they lived. The great temple, built of metals and materials that they could not even comprehend, it fell from the sky, nestled safely within a spring-softened mountain. It was blessed in divine light as it burst through the clouds of the worst storm that year, like a beacon of hope for the coming season to waylay their worst fears.

The coming of the Gods' Temple brought many great changes as the kingdom of Wysteria grew around it, their greatest city, Shilf, resting at the foot of the mountain. People from all over the land came to see the temple, the grand metal statues that lined it, the lights and colors, the cryptic messages and strange, ghostlike apparitions that would appear and fade at times, some would have said these to be cryptic messages from the gods, but their words were not those that could be understood.

Not long after the Temple had first fallen, magic started becoming known in the world, people with inborn talents started appearing near the beginnings of what was known as Shilf Village at the time. Naturally the appearance of the Gods' Temple was credited for this discovery. Life continued on, kings came and went, wars with foreign nations. And all the while life continued to evolve around the temple.

After all, how else could a technologically advanced ship from beyond the stars be explained as anything other than a message from the gods? What else could they thank for the sudden appearance of magic but the great beacon of hope for the future that rested up in the mountain? Unassailable by weather and the weapons of war.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

It had rested in orbit above the planet for 4 centuries, the escape pod of the fallen Explorer Class vessel, the TUSF (Terran United Space Force) Magnolia. The computer had watched over its crew for the many decades, silently streaming a distress beacon, but not once was it picked up. As the hyper reactor powering the pod began to fade, the Computer was left with no option but to bring itself down.
With what little energy reserves it had available to it, it guided the pod to a soft landing in a rural area and finally started the wake up sequence, but even that was a task it was quickly becoming unsuited for..

Trisha woke up with a dull pounding in her head, the electrical beeping of lower tier warning systems, emergency lights flashing. The one thing she hated about cryosleep was that it didn't feel natural, it was like you had only black out for a moment, only to wake up later, feeling like you were naked in a blizzard. As the flakes of cryofrost melted swiftly from her body she fell forward weakly, her forehead banging against the protective casing of her pod, which only filled her head with an even sharper pain.

Like the morning after shore leave, it hit her like a bad hangover and she reached up, covering her face and blue eyes. The warning sounds continued to beep, the lights continued to flash and her mind slowly started to focus as she fumbled with her other hand on the manual release valve. The protective casing slid away and she fell forward with a heavy thud, the metal below her feet creaking as she looked up.

Was she crazy? Or were several of the pods already empty? Why had they taken so long to wake her up? What happened? She grabbed the center control panel for balance, hauling herself up and staring at the status screens. At least there was one functioning. She stared at the remaining frozen pods. It was difficult to see who was still here, the cryo-ice was sheet white.

"Systems in Critical Condition, Power at Two Point Five Percent and Dropping, recommend purging Cryo Sleep chambers or subjects will perish." The on board computer chimed overhead.

What?! Her brain jumped into full gear. Even 5% would have been difficult to save more than a handful of people! She forced herself to her feet and dashed over to the first pod, pulling the manual release valve, then to the next and the next. Lights were fading, life signs were dropping in some of the pods, this wasn't good. The blonde combat engineer was desperate to at least save some lives, not truly considering more than that because right now this was the only situation that mattered.

The first of the Cryochambers hissed and opened, dropping a man roughly a couple inches taller than her out onto the deck, he managed to catch himself in time, but even he was feeling the early after-effects of cryo sleep. He reached a hand up to cold grey eyes, staring dizzily at the deck, fingers gripping a little at his short dark hair, he was still fully outfitted in his Half-Combat gear, not fully armored but it had enough protection, a gun at his side, some internal weave on his suit and exterior plating with an overcoat.

He was Brandon, a grunt, so to speak, a soldier of the TUSF, no-one special, but he was good in a fight, that was all they needed really. But getting dumped on a shit assignment like babysitting an explorer vessel had never been his idea of a good posting. This science and exploration nonsense really left him with too little to do. Heck there wasn't even any way for him to fight a ship crashing, running away to an escape pod felt so crap.

What in the name of Terra was going to happen next..?

Her morning had begun as every other morning did; with manual labor. Priestess Hivera sent her to fetch the water, scrub the floor, and polish the Godly Protectors in the Main Hall. The water fetching was the most tedious of the tasks her morning held, as there were nearly one hundred steps from the well at the bottom of the Godened Hill, to the top where the vat to keep it in was. So she hauled each bucket as carefully as she could until the vat was full of the clear, crystaline water they would need for the day.

Her next task was rather easy, as the decorations around the halls and the Main Hall itself provided very little floor to be scrubbed, and so she was finished within the next hour; finally she came to the task she genuinely enjoyed. Polishing the strange statues that had been sent with the Gods and Goddesses was the most fun, because she could display unlady-like behavior. She climbed to the top of the machine and began her polishing, letting the small cord of water go across the statue in even strokes; as she had been told to do. She wasn't sure how it had happened, because the records from so long ago had been spotty and most had been burned or destroyed during the Inside Incident in the 15 year war, but some of the children had been born with ingrown abilities to use magic, to which they taught to the worthy students. She had been one of the children born with the power of Wateria; an ability to control the element of water as far as healing minor sickness and injuries.

Gasps and shouts, coupled with the whistling and crash of something falling from the heavens had physically shaken Amaya from her spot atop the statue she was cleaning. It was one of seven diplayed in the Main Hall leading to the Worship Room where the remains of a godly craft had landed. She scrambled to her feet and dashed out of the hall, finding the smoke locating the crash and letting her feet start her journy to find the reason for the smoke. Her adrinaline was pulsing through her body with each heartbeat, fueling her need to find something amazing and earn her place as the High Priestess; an honor higher than even a King. Thought it was not the power of fame that attracted her to the position, but instead it was oppertunity it gave her.

She arrived to an already large group of people surrounding a crash site were large vessels released the Sky People; thier gods and goddesses. She knew she had to make a good impression and she stood her full height, nearly six feet tall; and put on her best composure despite her excitment, and calmly bowed. She silently wished she ahd smoothed out her robes more, but smiled at them."Nialo, Vero. Vere. Shea-coom'le na eve-ranuo."*

She waited for thier responce in anxious agony, hoping they were able to understand her, but it didnt seem that they were, she looked to the crowed who grew silent. She was only a loborer and student for the Priestess, but she was still in her training, which made her a class above her friends and family.

* Hello (Nialo), God (Vero). Goddess. (Vere) Welcome to (Shea-coom) our ('le na) livelihood. (eve-ranuo)

Trisha barely noticed the gathering people not far from the pod, the vessel had opened itself in order to 'evacuate' its passengers, so it was no surprise that they could be spotted inside the fallen structure. She was too busy with her panicked rush, forcing the remaining capsules open as quickly as she could, all while suffering a pounding headache. Every step she took felt slow and heavy as the toll of cryo-sleep continued to plague her, she'd never gotten used to that.

At least one more crewman was waking up, but one of the bodies fell out without a pause, their body simply crumpling. Trisha had already hit all the releases, so she rushed to the body. it was Commander Falken, the Captain's right hand man, except he was pale and remained cold. She didn't really know him all that well, sure he was a commander and he gave orders, but she was always to busy with her own work and simply following orders that she didn't take the time to notice.

She turned him over on to his back and placed two fingers to his throat. She was looking for a pulse, but nothing, perhaps it was just the cold and numbness. She lowered herself and placed her head to his chest. Nothing, even in all this noise, her proximity to his heart should have let her hear something. No good. Instinctively she reached for a sub-unit next to the cryo-pod, but she found herself swiping thin air where a handle should have been.

The supply kit was gone, along with the defibrillator. Okay maybe another one. She looked towards the next pod, again, the supply kit was gone. the realization set in pretty quickly, all the Supply Units were gone..! She jumped to her feet and checked the rest of the supply racks. The Pulse Pistols, most of the survival gear, ration pills, all gone. The only things left were a toolkit, some cable, a knife, flare-guns and a couple of flashlights. Where had the rest gone?

Brandon meanwhile, watched Trisha's frantic actions before a voice alerted him. There were other people, he stepped out into the open first, drawing his gun and pointing it in their direction, but he didn't fire. He wasn't trigger happy, but he didn't know for certain who these people were or what they wanted, let alone what they were saying, especially the one that seemed to be speaking for them.

He stared at her silently, although his gaze shifted slightly to keep an eye on the smaller movements of those around. He didn't recognize them at all, he'd spent enough time on that ship to at least recognize faces, it was only a skeleton crew for an explorer vessel, enough for two shifts, a small platoon of combatants like himself and Trisha in case a fight occurred but frankly they wouldn't have been a match for an army or some real threat.

What mattered to him for now was assuring he at least guarded the survivors here and if any of these strange people got too close he would fire a warning shot at the ground before aiming at them again, better to be safe than sorry..

Amaya could see the frantic movements fo the Goddess, and wondered why she panicked over her dead companions; as they would simply go home to the heavens. She watched the God stand and pull a curious device from his side and point it at them. It was obvious he didnt udnerstand her and she also noticed how jumpy the crowed made him. She gave him a reasuring smile and turned to the group, waving them off."Nio, nio."*

They slowly broke apart and drifted back to town and she turned back to the man, stapping closer."Via so ta le na?"**

Her patience was being worn thin by her excitment and nervousness to represent her village and people; and the High Priestess herself, in a peaceful and calm way. Her dress was swaying in the soft spring breeze,a cooler breeze than the summer, and only slightly warmer than the winter. It was a beautiful place they lived in, full of color and beauty, and sometimes danger. Near the village was mostly safe, but in the wilds it was a hell that possessed by horrors and nightmares.

Brandon watched her motions carefully. he didnt understand her words, but he understood the results and the motions to some degree, as the people retreated and dispersed he lowered the gun, holstering the gun at his side once more. In respect of her actions he gave her a simple nod, at least in hopes that it would be understood, but whens he spoke again he was left with a rather confused face before he looked back at Trisha again. he could see what was disturbing her, one of the crewmen was dead, and supplies were missing from the escape pod, including the extra pulse pistols. He was glad he had at least one himself, but that was frankly insufficient.

Among the two remaining that had managed to wake up, there was Edward Chambers, a scientist, among his peers he was considered a generalist, he had originally headed their research and development on the ship. He stood up, arcing a slightly stiff back before trying to get an understanding of what was happening around them. Had the escape pod crash landed? No it was low on power, but these things were designed to preserve the people they held for a great deal of time. Was the power generator damaged? Or maybe a computer malfunction, he could already see how quickly things had deteriorated, the commander was dead and one other, a woman, a navigator he believed. What was her name? Ah, Sophia Crawford. It wasn't apathy that kept him so calm, merely an understanding that if he didnt keep himself focused he might lose his cool.

His focus turned only momentarily tot he young man with the gun, at least he put it away, no shootings. That wouldn't be a good way to start off, but he could hear words being spoken that he didn't understand. His focus then turned to Trisha as she sharply kicked the center pedestal of the escape pod in frustration,
"Damnit! What is going on?!" She yelled, of course this only sharpened the pain in her head, forcing her to bring her hand up and hold it, the Doctor meanwhile rubbed his own head, the clang of boot to metal reverberated in his own brain,
"We appear to be in a rather tight fix, we should keep a level head and try to figure out what to do next." He made his way around the pedestal and out into the open to stare at the oddly dressed young woman. She obviously wasn't Terran, but she was definitely quite humanoid, he could see more people walking away but some still staying at certain distances, the curiosity for this obviously a little overbearing, he couldn't blame for being interested,
"This woman was talking, but I didn't understand her, are our translators broken?" Brandon mentioned offhandedly, but he kept his focus on the Priestess. The Doctor reached to a device at his hip, plucking it up and opening it,
"Hm, no, but their language basics aren't programmed into our devices, the translators will just need voice samples until they can start translating. The more they talk, the more we will begin to understand their words, it would be best to encourage them to talk further."

Brandon rubbed his chin thoughtfully then pointed to himself so that the woman could see,
"My name is Brandon." He paused briefly and tapped his chest again, "Brandon," it was just to affirm the idea that he was giving his name, he looked over to the doctor and he mimicked the soldier, "Edward,"
Trisha stared at them in disbelief, they had bigger problems to deal with but instead they wanted to play nice with the locals? She breathed a deep sigh of annoyance, perhaps the doctor was right. She stepped forward and pointed to herself, "Trisha." Of course she then turned around to start assorting what gear they had.

A meek young man had fallen out of one of the chambers, his head aching in a fierce pounding and his body beyond the stiffness he had experienced in the sleep training camp. He looked around in disbelief at the flowering trees and tall grasses around them, as well as the crater thier crash had made. "What happened? Does anyone need immediate attention?"

He glanced over at the native with her Auburn hair and strange language, noticing her demenor was calm, but curious. He stepped closer, but she didn't back down as an animal would do, and her clothing was beautiful and well made. He stared at the others as if he were watching a bad movie made in the past and shook his head with an irritated look, as if watching a show he had seen during his wild days when skipping his studies.

Amaya understood thier gestures and know it had to be thier names they said, suprised they had such unusual names; and not the ones the villagers called them. She lightly touched her chest with a smile and spoke evenly."Heres Amaya."*

Amaya had been startled when Trisha started kicking and shouting at the machines and strange vessel around her, and Amaya's mind was pulled back to that fact and she realized the woman held her head, Amaya knew she was in pain; and that she herself could help her with it. Without thinking the Gods and Goddess were a danger to herself, Amaya walked forwards towards Trisha without hesitation and held up her hands in an indication she wanted to touch Sophia's head. "Me'mena le co."

Amaya touched her waist where a small animal skin bottle rested, tied to her waist like a pouch; and she let small droplets of water surround her fingertips before pressing them to Trisha's temples and running them down her neck to relieve the pain and stiffness with slow motions and a soft glow around her hands. Amaya proceeded to help Trisha with her aches and any cuts and bruises she had sustained from her fall out of the sleep tank; her fingers going down her arms and back and legs so the warmth and healing touch fixed her whole body.

"We have two casualties it seems, Henry. But I believe for the rest of us it is mostly the after effects of cryo-sleep." Edward replied to the Doctor, rubbing sorely at his neck. It seemed their attempts to communicate with the strange woman went well enough, but the question was; what part of what she said was actually her name? Heres? Amaya? Or perhaps it was Heres Amaya? He honestly couldn't tell, both he and Brandon glanced at each other, they both seemed to have the same thought.

Before they could really inquire, this Heres Amaya approached them, more specifically the slightly distracted Trisha, who turned in time to see the strange female practically right there, she seemed to be reaching for something. Again Brandon prepared his gun, Trisha balling up her fists and tensing up, but before they could do anything, Edward held his hands up to both of them,
"Easy. If she wanted to hurt us she probably could have done it by now," He reasoned, watching her carefully, "It might just be a ritual of some sort, something friendly." he added, raising his brow at the priestess' actions.

Brandon put his gun away again, the Doctor was right at the first point at least.Trisha meanwhile angled her head slightly toward Edward, grimacing a little,
"But why me..? What is she-.." She froze as she was touched, shaking slightly, anxious, frankly she felt like her personal space was being invaded, but Dr. Chambers had suggested not acting rashly. Still, the touching and closeness was getting embarrassing, "I-is this really necessary..?" She added with a slight whine, but a look of realization began to spread across her face.

The pain was vanishing. The cold-sleep headache, the stiffness and imbalance in her body. She was left feeling quite warm, but most importantly her head didn't hurt anymore, her eyes were quite wide with surprise as she began to stand a little more normally, patting at her head gently. Nothing at all, not a thing. She stared at Edward and Henry,
"It.. Doesn't hurt.. I don't feel the affects of cold-sleep anymore." She explained, a surprised look coming across Edward's face,
"Interesting.. She took a liquid from that pouch, and her hands, they were glowing strangely.. What do you think, Dr. Lecrow? This is certainly a strange phenomena.."

Brandon continued to watch with curiosity. Something about it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, he could feel something beyond normal coming from this woman. Was it his fighters instinct maybe? Sensing something more? Paranoia? No it felt different, he wasn't quite afraid, but something about her wasn't normal. At least not by his standards..

The glowing of her hands he almost wanted to attribute to childish stories of mystical powers. Was he dreaming? Terran's had never discovered such a thing as magic in all their years, neither on their planet or even in the local systems, none of the aliens they knew even had them. For humanity it was nothing more than a silly little dream, so why was that line of thought being utterly betrayed before him?

Henry felt the sadness that came with a death, but it was a detatched sadness, as he hadn't known any of those who had died. He also wondered which part of her words were her name before holding back a chuckle at Trisha's discomfort, but as the young woman's hands began glowing his mouth fell open in utter shock and disbelief. "No pain or effects? None at all? B-but that simply isnt possible! It can take weeks for the side effects to wear off the human body.."

he stepped as close as he could without impeding Amaya's work to study her fingers closly, wondering what the clear liquid was. "Perhaps it is the liquid.. no, that cant be right. It wouldnt make her hands glow, surely. What do you feel, Trisha. Help me understand."

Amaya watched Trisha's body relax and smiled, nodding. "Naku."*

She waited until she felt that her body was no longer aching and her senses had been fully restored to thier normal state before moving to Henry. She held up her hands and he eagerly nodded, making her laugh at his silly expression; she touched his tempes and started making her way to the parts of him that had been effected by his fall to earth in the strange vessel. He clsoed his eyes to focus on the feeling it had on him, but she moved in a different pattern with his pains and aches. "It's like she knows where I hurt most, like she is targeting those parts. It feels warm, not like a summer day, but like drinking hot tea. It comes from the inside."

Amaya listened to him talk, wondering what he was saying to the others and why they didnt talk as she did. She healed him just as quickly as she had Trisha, and shook the water from her fingers, as it's useful properties had faded and was becoming jelled; moving to be between Brandon and Edward and holding her hands up in a permissive state to heal them as she had the other two."Crel bix?"

She looked from one to the other to see if either of them would say yes.

The blonde woman pulled a face when Henry asked her about the healing, blushing profusely as she glared at him,
"Wh-what's that supposed to mean? She's touching my body in a weird way, how do you think I feel?" Trisha was glad for two things once the healer finished. For one, the pain was gone, she really couldn't argue about that, but also, so was the strange woman who insisted on getting so close and touching her. She adjusted her tank-top and slacks a little, watching as Henry took his turn.

Edward couldn't help but chuckle at the embarrassment poor Trisha had to go through, the scientists and the combat staff didn't really cross paths but Trisha was a little bit of an odd exception, while she wasn't a lady of learning, she was the go to girl on the Magnolia for many engineering or mechanical problems, not to mention she was supposedly a decent pilot, especially in the combat suits. She'd often been called into the R&D section to help fix mechanical issues, loud, unladylike, but good at what she did and not a bad person.

Edward began feeling around in his own pockets, pulling up a soggy cardboard case and sighed,
"Those were my last cigarettes.." It seemed cryo-freezing was good at ruining cigarettes, he wondered if the old ship stores had survived, maybe there would still be a sealed crate or two.. He looked up glumly when the healer spoke again. "We're going to need more voice samples before our translators work, little lady, if you could speak some more..?"
Brandon seemed to get the idea though, not that Edward had missed it. The soldier stepped forward and nodded to her. Out of the three, Brandon probably looked the least affected, but he couldn't deny the stiffness and headaches were bothering him, he just couldn't put on a weak show in front of the others if he was the only remaining ground-pounder between them.

Though now that his ideas of magic were filling his head, he wanted to experience it for himself. maybe he was fooling himself and it was a different kind of science. Couldn't technology only be explained as magic if you took it back to people one or two thousand years in the past? How else could you put it except in terms of magic? He wanted to suggest it out loud to his fellow Terrans, but he didn't want to sound like a fool. Some unexplainable mystical force? Two scientists and, well.. Trisha, honestly he didn't know what Trisha would say about it, though she'd probably laugh too.

Henry had pulled his own face of disdain. "I assure you, Trisha, I mean it in a medical sense."

Amaya smiled and pulled the water from the animal skin gourd in a long rope, dipping each of her fingers into it once more so a small watter bubble was present on each of her fingers. She pushed the water back into its holding space without really touching it and placed her fingers on Brandon's temples, babbling about the village and how they were happy the Gods and goddess had finally landed to help them with thier troubles in such a dangerous time. She moved her fingers down his neck, where the glowing became slightly brighter, as she noticed he had a hairline fracture in his fourth vertibre; her brow nitted together over her eyes for a moment before she smiled in saticfaction that it was fully healed.

She babbled on about the High Priestess coming to meet them, and the other priestess in training on her way as well, but it was simply to welcome them; since Amaya had already started to heal them, and it would be a waste of time for the High Priestess to use busy herself with needless tasks when she had so much to enchant before the troops were deployed to the Forbidden Caves. Her fignertips moved slowly, but steadily down Brandon's right arm before trailing across his chest and down his left arm. She sensed his calf muscle had been pulled and stooped down to heal it quickly. His healing took only a few moments longer than the others, but she was done in less than five minutes.

Now she turned to Edward and held up her hands, her mouth open to ask him if he wanted to be healed as well, but a snapping in the bushes near the village made her muscles tense and her hand moved to be at her side where an ice and water whip was quickly forming. The High Priestess, her competing Priestess-in-training, and one of the High Guard came from the tree line and put her at ease. The guard laughed and crossed his arms. "Novic le tes to ven?"

"I could easily win against you, Heverd; and you know so, just like I did when we were children." Amaya crossed her arms with a smirk that seemed to differ from her recently placid expression. "High Priestess, I'm happy you are safe."

"So eager to rush in, Youngling. So.. spirited." The High Priestess's voice seemed almost inhuman in it's tone, hinting at mocking the young girl. "Go on, finish your business."

"Yes, High Priestess.." Amaya hung her head and started healing Edward without his permission, going quickly, but just as steady; finishing faster than the others.

The High Priestess smiled to the guests, but there was a slight discomfort behind the smile, a darkness to her near black eyes. Amaya quickly took her place behind her teacher, slipping into her robe quickly and keeping her head down in humiliation. "Welcome, Rulers. We are happy to see the High One has blessed us with some of his Children. come to the village for a feast, Rune will guide you."

Amaya winced at being called such a low name, seemingly on the brink of tears. Her brother had no fear in showing how cross he was towards the High Priestess, as he was an irriplacable part of the tribe and she held no threat towards him. "We will meet you at the Main Hall, Amaya."

She was left to stand before the group of new arrivals, looking very glum, and she motioned for them to follow; unsure if they could yet understand the words she spoke. "Come with me so you can get ready."

Trisha folded her arms and huffed at Henry, of course she knew he meant in a medical sense but did he honestly expect her to come up with anything more scientific than it feels perverted and weird? She watched as Brandon took his turn. he seemed to take to it almost naturally, and rightly so, after all his thoughts continued to be filled with the idea that this was in fact, some kind of magic. There was also a certain level of fascination for this young woman. Even int he odd language she spoke, he seemed to get a good impression of her. The more she babbled, the more he seemed to like her, but he kept his face firm. It was good to get the cryo-sleep shaken off this quickly, he didn't just feel better, he felt like he was practically at full strength.

His head lifted slightly when the babbled words started to change, the translators were beginning to function properly. More words came through, but as he stared over towards Edward to confirm, the man raised a finger to his lips. It was important in information gathering to pretend like you knew more than you did. Trisha caught on relatively well, but that wouldn't stop her carrying on with her simple attitude.

When the others approached, Trisha folded her arms, her attention wasn't caught by the strange whip-like weapon that had suddenly formed, but Brandon stared at it, without a doubt, this was exactly like some kind of magic. Science be damned, such a thing truly existed, if only he could have told his disillusioned old man..

Edward, to, was rather surprised by that weapon forming that way it did. Hard Light objects could be made with sufficient technology, but this girl didn't have any such devices on her, she certainly didn't look implanted, besides the fact that it looked to definitely be made of controlled water, this, by all rights, was utterly impossible, at least by any scientific standard he knew.

"Yeah, you can wait a while." Trisha responded sharply to the High Priestess, Brandon winced he'd expected her to to something rather blunt, the woman stared at her companions, the living survivors, "We cant just leave their bodies like this," She added, pointing to the dead Commander and Navigator. Brandon stared at the fallen comrades and bowed his head solemnly in agreement,
"You're right, we should at least bury them. At the very least they can be remembered for having..-" he paused, considering his words, Edward had given him the sign to be careful with his wording after all, "-Reached this place."

Edward nodded, but looked over at the young woman that had been tending to them whilst Trisha went about pulling an extending spade tool from the remaining tool kit whilst she tried to pick out a good spot, if they were going to be buried on this god forsaken backwater, then she could at least pick out a nice place for them,
"Thank you for all you have done, Little Lady. What was it..?" He paused then nodded firmly, "Amaya, yes. Although I have a question, if you would be so kind as to answer it. Did anything else at all fall before us?"

Amaya smiled a bit as Trisha was taunt with the High Priestess, but the smile faded before the woman could see it, the others had left, except her brother; and he spoke up. "Yes, others fell, only a few, but they went home before they woke. The mortal bodies they chose had not sustained the fall, and so they perished. We can care for the dead. It would be our honor to send the fallen Gods and Goddesses home again."

Amaya nodded and smiled. "There is no need to worry over thier souls, the High One will guide them home from the earth, but if you still wish to help with the cerimony you may."

She noticed the item Trisha picked up and her brow furrowed. "What is that for?"

Henry moved between the two wemon, cutting off their eye sight so he could ask the question burning into his mind. "When you touched us, how did you heal us? Did you use a special liquid, or perhaps a machine that responds to water?"

"Machine? No, it was just water. The healing comes from here." At these words she touched her heart, then her head. "And here. I will help make the transport for your fallen friends, and then take you to the Main Hall."

She had already turned and stood beside her brother; who was, at that moment, molding stones together to form a sort of wheelbarrow. She took the water from her bottle and wrapped it around a stone bar he had made, repeating the process once more and handing them to Heverd, who seemed to have a hard time controlling the water. "Water is emotion, Heverd, not stone. You have to feel it. I'll keep my mind on it so they dont break, just remember you are stone. Not emotion. Dont try to take over."

"I wont, Amaya, this isnt my first time!" He snapped, brooding that he hadnt been a healer, but instead a warrior.

He knew well that no one person could control more than the element given to them by the High One, but he still wished it were possible. He gave a thought to breaking her concintration to tease her, or try to take control to teach her not to belittle him; even though he knew she hadn't tried to, but was only trying to help.

She went back to the group and motioned for them to follow her after encouraging them thier friends woulc be treated with more care and the proper ritual would be done to preserve thier soul for the trip back to thier home in the clouds.

Amaya looked up at the trees and gave a wide grin to the clouds, she could feel them getting ready to burst, it would be a stormy night. She loved the rain, she had even as a child; before she grew into her powers fully. It was an amazing ceremony with the lanterns and music and the child finally becoming a real part of the village. It would take an hour to reach the village on foot while walking, but she didn't mind, she loved the wilds. Amaya had nearly grown up in them after her parents died, she had been more than just a wild child, bringing home wild beasts and the like, but when the first sign of her magic appeared she had been torn away from it. She had been one of four Waterians, two had died during the trials, and the other was her rival. Amaya had been taken away from her brother and locked in Main Hall, where she trained and studied for years on end; finally the time came when she was to put her powers to practical use. So she was a healer, a worker, and a Priestess. Heverd had been lucky, able to stay in the village with his friends and lead a normal life. Not swept away to be imprisoned until her corrination into the elite ranks of Waterians. She put the thoughts out of her mind, looking to them for thier decision.

Edward rubbed his chin thoughtfully, it wasn't quite what he'd meant, he wondered if perhaps their ship had fallen nearby, it was difficult to see the landscape with the nearby trees blocking their view, likely this Amaya was only talking about other escape pods.. He followed along behind them, still in thought, it was curious that the girl had said her healing method only involved that water and something in her head and her chest. Heart and Mind? That sounded utterly ludicrous, she didn't seem the type to lie. Still.. It was suspicious at best.. And now that young man was fashioning stone as though it were nothing, curious indeed.

Trisha figured she could accept if they were going to help with the bodies of the fallen. If they were going to do that then there was less to be concerned about. She grabbed the toolkit, putting the spade away and picked up the rest of the spare supplies. Brandon meanwhile walked a little closer to Amaya, shifting his gaze sideways to her with an odd look, as if trying to discern something, he wondered if it would be alright to ask her, though maybe not. He adjusted his coat softly biting down on his tongue and sighing a little. maybe not, whatever that Priestess had called her, it upset her, he wanted to ask what it was but he didn't want to remind her.
And he was still too afraid to mention the possibility of their powers being magic, plain and simple.

Trisha made sure to adjust what she was carrying. At the very least she could make use of the toolkit, she was an engineer after all, and with two scientists, well a scientist and a doctor, there would have to be a little improvising too she imagined. The blonde mostly kept her eyes on her fellow survivors, making sure no-one was left behind.

During the walk itself, Edward seemed to get himself sidetracked a lot, there were lots of interesting little critters, mostly bugs and wildlife that they spotted from a distance, Terra had been so overpopulated that the only places one found them now was in a preserve or a zoo, but here on this less civilized world there was so much that he could find fascinating, specific flower species, various fauna, even the rock formations were unlike somethings he'd seen, but what caught his attention most of all were the occasional vein of exposed crystal.
They were strangely common here, so common that they'd frankly decrease in value, although thinking on those terms made him simply smack himself on the head. Not to mention the crystals seemed to radiate with a strange light.. At first he thought they were glowing because of the sunlight, but in fact they were actually releasing light on their own, energy, just like the power the young woman had displayed.

He would have to examine them later, after all he didn't quite have a lab set up for research any more..
Trisha meanwhile groaned after another of his distractions brought their journey towards the village to a halt,
"You're just like a kid with a whole set of new toys, we have plenty of time to look around, would you hurry it up?" Trisha groaned, Edward pausing and rubbing the back of his neck,
"Sorry, sorry, it's all just so fascinating.. I was looking forward to seeing it all in person." He responded, standing up and following after them again,
"I think I can understand.. I was a colony kid myself and the bio-gardens don't compare to the real thing.." Brandon defended the Doctor, only because he also rather liked the scenery, it was oddly relaxing,
"That's well and good but my point stands, we're still in a bit of a bind here, don't forget that." She added sternly, Brandon shrugging a little,
"We get it, but if we keep reminding ourselves of that, we wont be able to think straight, you should try relaxing, do something unexpected like you used to do on the Magnolia, kiss a guy, like that guy there." He thumbed toward Amaya's brother and Trisha spluttered,
"I've never kissed a guy randomly!!" The woman practically pounced Brandon, wrapping an arm around his neck and choking him, "You take that back!"
Brandon flailed comically, a grin spreading across his face, at least he'd put her back into the correct mind set but she still refused to let go so he tapped her arm a few times,
"Okay okay, uncle, I take it back..!" He chuckled, the woman begrudgingly releasing him again and folding her arms,
"Jerk.." She snuffed, folding her arms and walking once more.

Amaya continued walking, glancing up at the sky periodically in the know that it would start to pour down on them at any minute. Her voice was a bit distant from her body as she smiled."I hope you don't mind getting wet.."

A small bug with bright orange wings and a dark purple body that shimmered in the sun landed on her head and she quickly shooed it away so it wouldn't eat her robe, and when they came upon the veins and ridges of crystals she smiled even more. A tingling sensation went through her body as the crystals reacted to the power inside her, she glowed in soft blue pulses with them, and ran her fingers over them; sending a rippling effect through their glow. She hadn't minded getting side tracked while Edward explored and acted like a child receiving a piece of Yucca Syrup. "It's alright, Goddess. We can take our time if he would like to explore, but please be careful. With your mortality you wouldn't want a Gret to get ahold of you."

Amaya laughed as the two got into a match with each other, and she noticed how different the God called Brandon was when he smiled. She had noticed him glancing at her a couple of time, and it made her curious as to why. He knew who she was, right? She prayed with the High Priestess many a times to the kingdom he lived in. Perhaps he was just surprised by her age. She was the youngest Priestess ever recorded. "We are nearly there, only a little while longer."

They had walked for nearly half an hour, leaving only an open field she was sure Edward would take to very nicely. "God Edward, I believe our next stop will delight you."

She pointed ahead to the clearing, it was small and held many crops, but the strange insects and animals that roamed the rows of crops and gathered around the small building were vast. A giant insect nearly a foot high scurried between Henry's feet and he nearly jumped out of his skin. "My word! What was that?"

"Oh, that was the Rova Beetle. He fertilizes our crops so they produce more. He must be going to get more food. He eats an awful lot, I used to have one as a child, but my mother made me give her to a neighbor when she ate mother's favorite tree." Amaya giggled, seeing the shocked look on Henry's face.

"You kept such a thing as a.. a pet?"Henry stammered, flabbergasted that anyone would keep a filthy bug as a pet inside their home, and not in a natural museum as an exhibit.

"Yes, I had named her Reve. She's dead now though, died a few years back. They do, unfortunately have short life spans."Only 40 years. Not a very good first pet."She paused to see if Edward would like to examine some of the creatures and plants around them, picking a small flat and broad leaf off one of the curling stocks that grew and popped it into her mouth to enjoy the sweetness of the not yet matured plant.

Watching Amaya glow the way she did whens he got closer to the crystal geode's gave Brandon that feeling again, that unnatural quiver up along his spine, even Edward couldn't help but be fascinated as he observed the localized reaction. This warranted study for definite, it was definitely related to that strange capability that she had been displaying, although the biology behind it might certainly have been more in Henry's realm of expertise as the doctor.

Edward was indeed quite impressed by the variety of strange creatures and large-scale insects wandering the fields, not at all like those damned space horror flicks where such beings were the stuff of nightmares.. And.. At least twenty times larger.. He squatted down to examine a passing Rova beetle, managing to stop it in it's tracks and coax it up along his sleeve, then across to his over hand, quite fascinated by it, even as it attempted to chew on his sleeve, but he managed to pull it away in time and set the creature down. When Amaya referred to him as God Edward, the man grimaced just slightly and stood up, brushing his lab coat off,
"Amaya, just refer to us by our names, there is no need to prefix it with God or Goddess," He didn't want to get into the idea of pretending to be a god, of course there might be some social advantages to being treated as such, but it was morally incorrect. Brandon nodded in agreement,
"It is a little awkward.." He added, although he didn't want to break her belief, at least not by flat-out saying they weren't gods, she seemed dead set on the idea. Her reasoning that they chose to use mortal bodies seemed like an excuse to keep up the belief.

Though the realization that Amaya was of such an age beyond their own was surprising, even to Brandon, perhaps it was just natural to their race, a long lifespan wasn't such an unknown thing. Terran's life spans at best reached around one hundred years and that alone was terribly optimistic.
He watched when she picked one of the leaves to eat it, which promptly, almost out of instinct, made him want to do the same, he stood by her, picked a leaf and bit into it. A surprisingly sweet thing,
"What are these..?" He asked her, placing his hands on his hips calmly as he chewed a little more.

Edward wanted to point out that it might not be edible for him, but it seemed a little bit too late now, it seemed perhaps Brandon would be the first to properly adjust to life here, still it wouldn't hurt to make sure, he supposed if Brandon wanted to be the guinea pig for these things, then may as well let him have at it,
"Wait wait," Trisha interjected suddenly, "Forty years..?!" She asked, almost dumbfounded, staring at Amaya. It was her turn to invade this healer's private space as she stood closer, inspecting the girl before outright grabbing her cheeks, not too tightly, but tugging on them softly, almost as if teasing a child like an elder would, "Damn, I hope I look that good when I'm your age..!" She added, unaware that she'd more or less complimented the girl. Brandon chuckled a little, shaking his head at Trisha.

"As you wish, Go- Edward."Amaya smiled and bowed slightly, laughing as the beetle tried to eat his sleeve."They will eat almost anything, these ones are well trained, but when a new material is presented to them they taste it to see if it's edible. A sort of trial and error."

Amaya had sounded so much like a scientist herself that Henry laughed a little bit at the difference. "For a moment you almost sounded like Edward."

Amaya laughed a bit too, catching that it was a way of teasing each other with the new Gods and Goddesses. When Trisha examined her, Amaya stood still so she could, smiling a little when her cheeks were tested. "I'm actually 53 years old this New Moon. I'm the youngest Priestess in recorded history."

"Why, that's remarkable! You don't look a day over 25!" Henry now studied her with renewed interest. Her healing properties were one thing, but her youth was astounding! "And how old do most of you live to?"

Amaya thought for a moment before answering. "I believe the oldest recorded member of our village was just above 500 years old before he died."

"500? Really? That's simply unheard of!" Henry exclaimed, frightening her for a moment with his volume before he apologized.

She had picked several more of the leafs in an effort to take the conversation from her age and, with her hand held out to the group members that hadn't tried one, attempted to get them to. "This is a young Temva leaf, would you like to try one?"

Henry was the next guinea pig and popped it into his mouth. "It's delicious. It almost tastes like.. a minty maple sap!"

"In retrospect, so does the insect.." Edward exclaimed in an almost defeated sounding fashion, they were definitely clever little critters, "Trial and error indeed.. I might have a field full of new protegés to teach.." He chuckled, although looked over at Amaya, "But perhaps you would soak up the knowledge better.." He added. of course he only meant this as a joke, after all if even half of what he knew was taught to the wrong individual on this world, it could lead to some serious issues..

The revelation about Amaya's age alone was astounding, so much so that even Brandon and Trisha were a little shocked by this information, but Edward kept his composure,
"Curiosier and curioser.." He quoted quietly to himself but continued to brush at his chin softly, constantly thinking. There really was so much to find out about this world, he wondered if perhaps their abilities were to be attributed to this extended age, or perhaps it simply was just their natural life span.

When he was offered the leaves, he hesitated only partially but seeing Henry try it he figured it couldn't be too bad, however Trisha held her hands up and shook her head a little,
"Er.. I'm trying to cut down," She lied, Brandon chuckling. Trisha was probably just skeptical about foreign alien foods. She would probably have to get used tot he idea of eating the same thing as these people, it probably wasn't too bad. He was no scientist but most races had similar genetic makeups as far as he knew, so there weren't too many dangerous cross-species foods except when their makeups were drastically different.

Trisha adjusted the equipment she was carrying calmly, if she was going to eat something she may as well wait for a full meal, but she wondered about what they were going to do next. Once the Commander and Navigator were buried they would need to find the others from their own pod. how many actually survived in the end?
How long had they been asleep? If those things could last almost four-hundred years, as the briefs once said, and it only just ran out of power.. no, she couldn't think that way, it was probably a malfunction, damage during the impact that initially dropped the Magnolia to the surface.

Now that she tried thinking back on it, what exactly did hit the ship? And where did it land..? Perhaps if they found it, it could be salvageable somehow..
To anyone else it probably would have appeared like Trisha had wandered off into her own little world. The stresses and concerns just didn't want to leave her heart, she had so many piling up horrible feelings in her gut that it simply wouldn't leave her alone.

Brandon finally paused in his step and turned towards Amaya, a slightly more stern look on his face,
"What was that word the other woman used for you..? And why did it make you look so much less happy than now..?"

Amaya gave a smile of gratitude for the compliment Edward gave her, and looked slightly dejected when Trisha passed on the leaf, but recovered quickly and popped it into her own mouth, continuing on their walk to the village. She noticed how Trisha seemed to fade away from the world, much like Amaya herself did when she was deep in thought; but decided not to pry into the thoughts of the Goddess.

Amaya wondered if she would eat at the feast that night and found herself worrying for Trisha, but it passed and a new feeling; one of anger and hurt filled her instead. Her eyes grew cloudy and dark at the mention of being called a Rune. A flake. She was never a flake! Never! For 47 years she tended to the High Priestess, did her best to compete with Leco in gaining the high title, and polished, cleaned and protected the Main Hall!

Without her mind noticing it ice had started forming around her fists, and her breath was coming out as small clouds. How could she call her that? It was her fault her parents were dead! Her fault she had been taken away from her friends and held in that prison, eating nothing more than ferro bread and drinking nothing else but water!

"She called me a Rune."Without another word about it she pushed through the last few trees and announced "We're here."

Groups of villagers young and old stopped what they were doing to watch the new comers make their way to the tower ship that had been converted into a temple. "Oh my, look.."

Henry pointed to the ship, his heart falling into his stomach with his grief. "Do you think others survived somewhere?"

Amaya kept walking, now completely silent, though the sudden temperature drop around her skin was gone. She wasted no more time, and didn't stop to chat with her brother; who had immediately backed up when she shook her head. The High Priestess sat on a pile of cushions that surrounded a large pan over a fire and motioned for the group to sit with her.

Amaya took her place behind the High Priestess on the cool metal floor, her head down so the hood of her robe hid her face. "Welcome, my Gods, and Goddess; to your shrine. Why is it you have come to Ysnaan?"

The High Priestess was relaxed, and Heverd had taken his place at the door for his guard duty.

Edward stared up at the ship as they approached. They had fallen so close to it, he was stunned at that, but staring up at the explorer vessel he could see how vegetation had crawled along its hull in thing binding ropes that practically looked like they were holding it aloft, trees had grown beneath it, but since they had no power to lift the ship they instead grew around it, acting like natural pillars.
The hull was sunbleached, the paint had worn and faded away with time, leaving only exposed steel that gleamed in cold steel grays and obsidian plates, the engines were long cool and he could see where damage from the impacts that downed the ship had damaged the exterior, piercing in some areas.

Trisha stared up at the same beast, evens he could tell that it had sat there for a long time, she wasn't a fool, she couldn't just call it unbelievable. The strength in her legs seemed to give way, her knees buckled and she fell to the ground, having to sit on her heels and stare up at the Magnolia,
"It's.. It's so old now.. How long were we asleep..?" She questioned, eyes still wide in the horror of realization. Edward looked aside to Trisha, even Brandon could sympathize with what she was probably feeling, but the latter couldn't just let his strength falter now. He reached down to Trisha and grabbed her by the arm, pulling her back to her feet and fixing her with a stare,
"Get a hold of yourself.. Remember what we are. We're soldiers. You're alive, the rest is negotiable.." He practically ordered, he'd never really been the type to take charge, but his stern words snapped Trisha back into focusing as she gripped her fists tight, jaw clenched.

Edward waited for them to follow, but he could still see the mixture of grief and rage on Trisha's face. Once they approached the high priestess, however, the eldest man didn't sit, instead staring around at the place. The interior was actually rather well taken care of, if a little different considering these people of Ysnaan, as she called it, had taken to using it as their temple, not to mention the village outside,
"We called it the Magnolia.. But we weren't able to follow it.. We slept for a time, but believe it or not, we aren't sure how long." Edward finally stared directly at the High Priestess, rubbing his chin thoughtfully, "We've come to ask how much time has passed since the Magnolia fell, and what has transpired since then." Edward kept his inquiry simple and blunt, of course he doubted all of it could be told, but the important events at least would have been helpful.

Brandon looked aside to Trisha, then to the interior of the ship. This room was once one of the smaller hangars. The aged mechanoid soldiers stared down at them with lifeless eyes. He wondered if they could still function after allt his time.. But they probably weren't properly maintained. Trisha had turned her focus to one of them, walking up to it and staring at it. Since this room wasn't exposed to the sunlight, the emblem on its chassis could still be seen, it was a simple tree with pink blossoms and leaves, some swirling around it,
"I cant believe it.." She murmured to herself, "She's still here, and in one piece.." It was indeed her own, she'd spent more time around this thing than anyone else when they were still exploring. Trisha reached up to pat it's chest-plate gently, after all it was only a small-scale Urban Combat Unit like the rest in the ship, they weren't full-scale Warfare Units, those monstrous goliaths were practically tall as houses, none on the magnolia though.

"The Temple has been here for four hundred years. Many things have happened since then; Rune can take you to the Records Room if you would like a bit of light reading on our mortal history. I'm sure you are curious how your Children have faired since they were created."The Priestess smiled, but it was an eerie smile, one of hidden agendas and far-too-late-for-retribution acts of evil.

When Trisha found her old machine Amaya smiled and went over to it as well. "This one is my favorite. I love the symbol on it. I polish it the most out of the seven we have."

The High Priestess's visage became one of rage and hostility, all water turning to dark ice as she yanked Amaya backwords by the hair under her hood, her voice a hiss. Take your place, Rune! You impudent child! One more mistake and I'll have Heverd send you away."

Amaya hadn't screamed, not giving the terrible woman the pleasure."Yes, High Priestess, my apologies."

Heverd had gripped the stone sword at his side, his eyes narrowed at the Priestess, but he knew there was nothing he could do; Amaya wasn't his sister anymore, she was a Priestess. That's how it was, how it would be; and the High Priestess' word was law to her students. He regained his composure with a steaming heart. The ice melted into little pools once more.

Amaya resumed her spot beside her competitor who was relishing in her humiliation of being corrected and called a Rune. The Priestess smiled once more as if nothing wrong had happened and flourished her hand to a large door off to the side."If you would like to change, Leco will show you to your rooms instead of Rune."

Amaya felt the hot tears forming in her eyes, but kept her mind steady; even though her heart wasn't. Her emotional turmoil showed in the vibrations of nearby liquids that contained any amount of water. The High Priestess grinned."Leco, show the Gods and Goddess where to change."

"How arrogant of you to presume you can tell us where we go on our Magnolia." Edward responded in a chiding fashion towards the High Priestess. Of course he was tempting fate a little as he approached her, standing over the woman in height rather easily as he adjusted his glasses, glaring down at her, "So eager to please us when you don't even know how, you certainly are a child, and after how many years of living..? We have no interest in following this Leco.. She wasn't there to offer her help, she didn't greet us, the Little Lady, Amaya did. We remain quite content with Amaya's company and you'd do well to never call her Rune again." Edward warned, he certainly had all the sound of a man that could kill at any moment.

He really was tempting fate, afterall this High Priestess clearly had the same if not more power that Amaya had been demonstrating, which frankly put all the survivors at a horrendous disadvantage, but they all seemed rather determined and angered all at once. However, if she truly was under the impression that her guests were gods, then she was bound to walk softly around them, Edward was placing his bets on that being the case.

Trisha meanwhile had gone over to Amaya, but she was glaring at both the other Priestess and the High Priestess, gently taking Amaya by the arm and guiding her away personally, her situation felt strangely petty after witnessing Amaya's bad treatment, so much so that she wanted to snap at both High Priestess and her favorite pet, but at times like this it was better to get the one in pain out of the way,
"Hey Amaya, do you know what they call that tree where we come from?" She started, obviously talking about that emblem, "It's a cherry blossom tree. We had one in our gardens and to me it was the most beautiful tree to ever exist," She explained, just to help get her focus away from the situation.

Brandon followed swiftly behind them, shooting a glance over his shoulder at the other man, his brow furrowing. How could he just stand there and watch that? What was wrong with these people? That was something he missed about the Magnolia's crew, sure people could get hot-tempered, but such abusive behavior was heavily frowned upon. This High Priestess acted more like a dictator that abused their authority, if not more like a Space Pirate with lackeys.

Edward meanwhile had taken to placing his hands in his pockets calmly, still fixing the High Priestess with a glare, like a disapproving father to a misbehaving child. He was starting to feel the effects of stress himself, cursed nicotine addiction, he knew he should have tried giving up smoking, but he would likely find some in the stores. These people probably had no idea how to open up the cargo containers and the ship probably still had internal power, explorer class vessels were designed to be self-sufficient after all. He focused on the High Priestess one more time,
"I assume we wont have any more problems, Little Lady..?" He questioned, not looking to be budging form his spot until the Priestess conceded.

Amaya did her best to hide her elation at Edward's defense of her, but the gratefulness shone in her eyes as she looked up at him, grinning as big as her mouth would let her; and Heverd had laughed aloud at the High Priestess' humiliation. The High Priestess on the other hand stared at the man as if he had sentenced her to death, but it quickly turned to angry reluctance, her fists at her side.

Amaya looked over at Trisha as she helped her up with a happiness that could only be displayed by a prisoner in a horrendous camp. "It's a beautiful tree, I wish we had one here. We only have the Bera Tree, and it is very plain compared to the.. Cherry Blossom?"

Amaya touched the emblem again and looked over at Trisha."Thank you..Trisha."

Heverd saw the look Brandon had given him and knew he had some explaining, their god didn't like how he had stood by and watched, but he also didn't know the truth of things. The High Priestess was a dictator, and wouldn't hesitate to kill Amaya had she felt threatened by Heverd.

Amaya looked to the door."Would you like to change into something more comfortable? We have many things to choose from."

Amaya wanted to be out of the view of her prison keeper, the High Priestess shot a glare at her, but relented."Go on.. Amaya.. They wish for you to.. lead them.

Heverd went to stand beside Brandon. "You must think poorly of me, but believe me when I say that if I had ever protested, I would not have a sister."

Heverd's voice was a serious it hadn't been before, and his eyes had become misty at the thought of losing his only family.

Edward, satisfied that the Priestess had been put in her place, walked past her calmly, the first thing to re-establish on the ship was the main power system. Even if it couldn't fly, it would serve as a perfect base, his Laboratory would probably still be there and still locked tight, these people probably didn't even know how to unlock the doors to the sealed sections. However he paused briefly, looking back to Henry,
"You should check your Medical Bay, Henry," He added calmly, "There probably would still be many usable tools, basic drugs and chemicals there. Even if Magnolia can't fly anymore, we can at least breath life into her again." He stated simply, still careful with his words, in fact he was picking them quite adeptly, to give the impression that the Temple was once capable of flight and that they could bring it to life in such a way, it would certainly give them the impression of being higher beings, but it was a facade that would need to be dropped, sooner or later. For now, they would need it to contend with that woman..

Brandon glared at Heverd coldly, he wasn't sure honestly how to respond, he certainly got the impression that the man wasn't lying, but still.. Perhaps it was his training as a soldier, ice cold regimens that had you betray others out of simple fear or through heartless rules, it was something that his drill Sergeant had bored into his skull, never leave a man, never abandon those who can help, the risk of death should only be on your head, not the innocent. He wanted to lecture the man on the spot, but not in front of that High Priestess, instead he simply shook his head and followed after Amaya and Trisha, adjusting his coat once more, if they could get power to this place again he would probably go and find something different to wear, after all, he was still in combat gear.

Trisha meanwhile looked aside to Amaya as the moved away from the High Priestess, smirking a little, the thanks wasn't necessary, still, the girl was probably relieved to not be under that woman's boot. The offer for something different to wear struck her as odd, although remembering that these people had different fashion senses reminded her that the culture would be difference, still..
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" Trisha replied teasingly, of course her cloths were hardly ladylike, the tank-top revealed too much of the shape of her bust, the baggy mechanics slacks and the heavy boots, she probably would have looked better in some fancy dress, except it just wasn't her style,
"So tell me a little more about life around here, did I hear you right that you could beat that guy in a fight?" She grinned, it would have been amusing to see that honestly, or amazing, considering these people used that weird power of theirs.

The question for Edward now was who actually had authority on the ship? The on board systems would need a chain of command to follow, both Brandon and Trisha were considered Lieutenants. Edward would be considered their Chief Science Officer.. But authority itself actually lay with Henry, the Chief Medical Officer, in scenario's like this he had proper authority, in order to ensure the survival of others when a Captain or Commander wasn't present. But Henry was pretty young seeming, the logical choice would be to hand over authority to Edward, he was simply more experienced and frankly taking control effectively. He supposed they would sort it out once they got the ship running properly.

Henry nodded silently, the scene that had unfolded was something he hadn't seen in his life. He had never know someone to be so cruel to another human being. Sure his older sister had been a bit of a brat to him, but that was so he could be tuff in the future. Something he would need now, since he knew he would be head of the ship. He had never been good at taking charge with a group of people, but he would need to be now. "If you'll pardon me, my fellows; and lady."

He ignored the High Priestess on his way through the door towards his sealed lab in hopes she could tell he was just as angry with her as the others. Heverd noticed the sting in Brandon and decided to let Amaya explain it in time, as he knew she would when she caught on to Brandon's mood. He left the room as well, only adding gasoline to the woman's rage at being defied so much in the past few minutes.

Amaya laughed when Trisha asked about her clothes and shook her head. "Nothing at all, I like the trousers, they are very cute and look easier to fight in; but I wasn't sure you would want to wear such dirty clothes to the feast tonight."

She had motioned to the dirt on her clothes from their trek in the woods and field, her head turning with Henry's exit and then she focused on Brandon. "Would you like to change? I believe the warriors would have something that could fit you. They don't often wear their relaxed clothes in these times, so there are many outfits to chose from."

A released spurt of pressurized air was the conclusion to Henry's success at finding and opening his room, but his groan let them know it was in shambles. He peeked his head in a few moments later with a look o f disdain. "I believe Magnolia had a bumpy landing."

Amaya spoke again to Brandon. "Why did you guys call the temple the Magnolia?"

It was a strange word to her, not translated by her language very well, so it left a strange tingle on his tongue and an excitement in her chest. She was curious about everything the Gods and Goddess did aboard Magnolia, why they had sent it ahead of them by 400 years. What a Medical Bay was, and a Lab. She had so many questions, but knew only a few answers could be given now.

Henry did his best to clean up the broken glass and scattered medical items. He dug under a stand and cursed aloud as he cut his finger on a rather sharp scalpel that had been tossed under there during the landing. He was more cautious as he straightened the room up and put it back into a disheveled, but functioning, state of working. Immediately he logged into a computer, but was locked out. He needed the mechanic, once more exiting the hall that lead to it and arrived beside Trisha. "I need your assistance. If you'll follow me.."

"They aren't that bad, besides, I've eaten in worse," Trisha replied, folding her arms with a slight huff, but then shrugged to herself, "I mean okay we were in a war at the time and the closest thing we had to a feasting hall was a crappy little bunker with a bunch of sweaty guys and military rations, but that's the life." Trisha stared at herself a moment, gripping one of the straps to her tank top and staring at it, it's true it probably did look a little dirty, but half of it was oil smudges from her work, not like she could really help that.

Brandon glanced at Amaya a moment, thinking about the question regarding the ship's name. How would Edward put it..?
"We name our vessels, depending on their size and purpose, after things like flowers in nature for ones of this size, or for larger ones we would name them after positive ideals, such as Hope, Creed or Justice. But like I said ships of this size would commonly be named after flowers, so we called this vessel the Magnolia. It was a sort of white flower-filled tree with a pink base, not unlike the Cherry Blossom, but it tended more towards white." Brandon then shrugged himself, placing his hands in his pockets and staring around at it,
"She feels so dead though.. All the life in her is practically gone.. You could say her heart is asleep and we need to wake it up."

Trisha stared over at Henry when he called to her, smirking as she gently knocked Amaya's shoulder witht he back of her hand,
"You kids behave, looks like one of the boys needs mommy to fix his toy." She teased, waving her hand lazily to them and following after Henry so that she could get to work on whatever it was he needed, hands in her pocket whilst she walked,
"She's going to need a lot of work, I don't think I can fix and maintain the entire ship alone, Doc." After one more step, however, Trisha's vision blurred, she felt a warm surge in her body and she stumbled, unable to keep her footing before she promptly hit the ground.

At the same time, Brandon had found himself coming down with the same dizziness, however rather than collapse he managed to steady himself against a wall, his reasonably pale features were turning red as his face began to heat up, even his hands were hot. Even Edward seemed to be having trouble, having to find a place to sit down and remove his glasses, his head was pounding again, this wasn't the effects of cryo-sleep, it was different, far too different to be considered normal. Was it radiation? Was there something in the air they couldn't identify?
The truth was simple enough however. This world was indeed beginning to affect them, they had been exposed to the magic so quickly between Amaya's healing and the crystal geodes that it was starting to take its hold over even them. It would no doubt take time before they could fully realize this though.
