Plot

Long has there been tension and sometimes all-out war between ‘awake’ humans, vampires, and therians(the most commonly known species of which is the lycan or werewolf). Many of them have grown tired of this. So tired of the battles, of watching their loved ones die, and the constant struggles that they felt they had to do something. Finally they got an idea, that perhaps if only they could make their children grow up together, grow to understand each other, that the constant warring could end.

To this end they have opened a school, a school where these powerful leaders can protect their children from those who still seek war as well as from each other. They designed it to be a place of beauty and where all may be in peace. The vampires are provided willing donors and the therians a forest to hunt deer and other animals.

Terms

Awake Humans – Only awake humans are allowed to attend the school. They are humans who already know of the magical and psychic world. Many of them are trained in special fighting techniques to fight creatures of the dark, are gifted in psychic abilities, or practice magic. They are divided in two groups, Hunters and Gifted.

Blind/Sleeping Humans – the majority of humans, blissfully unaware of vampires in the like, who live normal lives in the surrounding cities and towns. The school cannot get their attention or it could be dangerous…

Hunters – these are normal humans trained to combat the dark with weapons and have no magic or psychic ability. These are the only students allowed to carry their weapons outside of their personal dorms.
*Note they can have magical weapons though it is rare and often makes the larger Hunter society trust them less. I have few rules regarding weapons. Just keep in mind that it's limited to having one 'spell' or enchantment on the weapon and if it's offensive it needs to be focused on JUST the weapon. Defensive can be focused on more depending, you'll just have to discuss it with me first. In fact all magical weapons must be approved by me first. Also no god weapons, i.e. no weapons that make you invincible/almost invincible. etc.

Gifted – Humans who have psychic or magical abilities. Psychic abilities you’re either born with or you’re not but some magical abilities can be learned if you have the natural spiritual ability.

Vampires - there are many different blood lines with different weaknesses and strengths but these immortal creatures all share one need… the need to feed on a human’s life energy. Sometimes they may feed through blood but there are legends of those who feed through more spiritual means.

Therians – Shapeshifters whose soul and body are bound to an animal, sometimes through a curse and sometimes through an infection or one of their parents. Their animal and the powers they are given from it vary but they too share one hunger. They are filled with the desire for the blood and meat of a fresh kill taken with their own hands…or paws if you prefer. The most common and well known are werewolves but many more kinds exist.

Setting

The two floor school building is divided into four sections, massive, and made in a Victorian style. Each section is divided by age group, Primary or K-5(ages 5 – 10), Junior or 6-8(ages 11-13), High school or 9- 12(ages 14 – 17), and Advanced or 12+(ages 18 – 25). It has beautiful, dark hardwood floors and paintings litter every wall. The dining room has intricately carved wood tables and chairs, only one inlet with the long buffet table with its trays of heaping food make it clear it is a cafeteria at all. The desks and chairs in each class room are in a similar style so only the blackboard screams classroom. The school building is enchanted so that all within its walls are protected from the sun’s rays as are the other buildings on the property.

Behind the school are four buildings, each a dorm for a select group. One dorm is for human hunters, another is for the gifted humans, another is for the vampires, and the final is for the therians. Each dorm is equally nice but suited to their individual race’s needs. Each dorm has four floors, one for each age group. The first is for Primary or K-5, the second is for Junior or 6-8, the third is for High school or 9- 12, the forth is for Advanced or 12+. Each dorm has a basement tunnel entrance that leads to the school to accommodate all students, even the most sun sensitive vampire.

At the top of each dorm is the roof with a single small building containing a room. This room is for the Dorm Leader. These are the counselors you go to when you have a problem. They can offer advice and coordinate donors for the vampires and so on. Behind the dooms is a massive forest that also goes around the sides of the school a little, a brick fence around the multi acre property. Behind the dorm and on the forest's are two buildings. One is a shed, almost empty save for a locker for clothing, a bench with chair, and a few gardening tools hung up on one wall. The gardening tools are mainly for show as this shed is a 'changing' shed for therians so they can change form in private. The other building is a 'privacy dorm', currently occupied. It's small building, containing only a bedroom and a bathroom as the occupant is to go to the cafateria just like any other non hunting member of the other dorms.

*More privacy dorms/small buildings at the forest edge may be created as *I* feel they are needed.
*A Hunter Dorm Leader is still needed.

Teacher Profiles

Quote:
Username: drakina

Name: Dana Jeakilson

Age: 27

School Position: Science teacher for grades 6-12

Race: Therian (rattle snake)

Appearance: (I made pics a long time ago, but shall have to re-make them...) Human- She stands at 5'4", with tanned skin from being outside. Medium-dark brown hair falls to her mid back, usually held back in a ponytail, and frames a rather oval face with hazel eyes. Her build is almost petite, with toned muscle over it.
She wears tank tops and jeans most of the time, with a sweat shirt tied around her waist for when she gets chilled. While holding class, she tends toward nicer clothing, blouses and slacks usually.

Were form- Instead of legs, the tail of a snake supports her torso, as thick around as her legs would be if they were held together, and close to ten feet long. It's tipped with the rattle, an additional half foot of length, and patterned with the dark and pale diamonds. Scales sprout from her waist up her spine, spreading to cover her shoulder blades. They also cover the backs of her hands, up to just above the elbow, and the curve of her jaw, just below the ear. Her eyes are an orange-brown, with the slit pupils typical of snakes, and her teeth narrow, with the canines changing to retracting fangs. The rest of her appearance is unchanged.
Quote:
Username: KageShio

Name: Hei-iro (Heiro) Kiyomizuchii

Age: Nearly 1,000

School Position: Offensive and Defensive training instructor, basic and advanced (High school and above)

Race: Dhampir

Appearance: 6 feet tall, broad shouldered and long-limbed. His frame is lean and his muscles lithe but well defined. His skin is unnaturally pale and almost literally covered in scars. The most prominent is a large one that covers the left half of his neck, it's jagged edges reaching from jawline to his collarbone.

Almond-shaped midnight-blue eyes are set into a face that is almost feminine, though a strong jaw and the jagged scar from his left brow to right cheek breaks the illusion. His raven black hair is dead-straight, sleek and mid-back in length, most often tied back loosely. Overall, his features look to be a mix of Slavic and Japanese.

His clothing is elegant, but simple and fictional, usually black or another cool, dark color. He often wears Japanese-styled martial arts clothing while holding class. He always has a strip of blood red silk either around his waist or holding back his hair.

Appearance:

His eyes are stormy grey and his hair is very dark brown, almost black, with a slight wave. He has tattoos on his upper arms, shoulders, upper back of dragons, wraiths and other mystical creatures. On his left wrist is a Latin inscription. His clothing is generally punk/goth but not to excess.

Main Weapons: Lumnis and Noctis - dual, enchanted, butterfly blades that are half the thickness they normally are, to be more useful for thrusting. They are enchanted to effect a mystical being the same way whatever metal their most vulnerable too. For a lycan they would act as silver would for example.

Appearance:

Main Weapon: Curatos -it is an enchanted long sword, slender in blade and just short enough to be wielded one handed or two at the users comfort. It produces a field of negation, both around itself and Val's mind. This field makes her immune to mental or magical viewing/attacks as well as causes the sword to repel magic or mental attacks of any kind from the blade and hilt. This last part makes it useful for breaking through magical barriers but it does not harm any magical healing abilities as the field follows the sword. It can also cut through a magical attack but this can be very dangerous as her arms are not directly protected by the field.

Setting Introduction Post

Today is registration day and early evening, when the sun has set almost completely. There are no classes and students are encouraged to explore as they please. It is early spring and many of the flowers are blooming. The air is filled with their scent as well as the excitement for the first year of this experimental school. The dorm leaders all stand in a line at the head of the school, waiting for the new students to gather around them so they can direct students to their dorms… and prevent any fights that may start. The rules have now been given to each student, both verbally by each dorm leader as well as a paper copy for them to keep.

Rising Dove Acadamy School Rules

1. You will not deliberately destroy school property, though we understand that accidents happen.
2. You will attend core classes as well as your extracurricular classes you choose.
3. You will attempt to be on time to your classes.
4. You will not leave campus without first letting your dorm head know, for safety reasons.
5. You will not enter the forests at night without a therian escort for safety reasons.
6. You will not enter another races dorm without the dorm leader's permission for safety reasons.
7. Vampires on campus are not allowed to feed save on animals and volunteer donors. If you are interested in being a donor see the vampire Dorm Leader Chandra Janan.
8. Psychics are not allowed to enter other minds deliberately without that students permission except during class exercises. We at Rising Dove do understand, however, that accidents do happen.
9. Therians must be clothed when in the main school building at all times.

Teachers are not above these rules except the rules about entering the dorms so if you see any teacher breaking these rules please report it to the headmaster or a dorm leader. If you have a problem with a particular rule, feel free to discuss it with the headmaster or the dorm leader. We thank you for your cooperation.

Character Introduction Post

Ziva cast her green eyes over the grounds with a rather bored expression. She hated social situations but the dorm leader had made her the ‘assistant’ for the day… meaning she had to do the dorm leader’s duties for today. She couldn’t help but be a little nervous. She was not a dominant type and many of her fellow therians would not take orders from anyone who seemed less dominant then they were. The idea of such a fight made her sigh slightly.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t fight… when she’d held her own against a frenzied snow leopard were long enough to be saved by a hunter she’d proven that. She was an even better fighter now as learning to control her body better helped with the urges. No, she just happened to dislike it was all. She preferred a good book or sharing tea with a kind soul to a good fight any day. Still, as rather shy person with strangers who sometimes came off as rather snobbish it was a possibility…

***

Theia played with a piece of jewelry absently as she glanced over to her nearly identical twin, Chandra. They matched from head to toe, even in how they dressed, except for one thing. Theia’s eyes were blue and Chandra’s a deep violet now a days. She gave the vampire a smile, which earned one in return. She was tempted to strike up a telepathic conversation but she knew better. Sometimes vampires around Chandra could react rather badly to it if they were able to sense such things. They expected it to be a trap or something similar.

Theia, of course, was much too honest and straightforward for such a thing however, and generally too kind. She was a very gentle person by nature though recent years had hardened her somewhat. She didn’t always look it…. As her and Chandra had a rather punky style, but she was. She saw no reason to get things through cruelty that one could get by kindness. Not that she didn’t believe that exceptions were necessary now and then…

***

Chandra raised her violet eyes as she felt someone was looking at her, only to meet the perfect blue eyes of her Theia. She smiled slightly, almost gently. Absently she wished, as she had before, that her eyes had remained blue when she was changed but she supposed it couldn’t be helped. Things happened as they happened… but it did so interfere with any mischievous twin tricks she could play! Well on the observant anyway.

She did turn back to those observing her, however. The vampires did not always react well to her and her sister. Then again she couldn’t blame them… Such a honey trap as a ‘pet’ vampire working for a hunter had been done when the wars were still on. She smirked at this inner thought, however, looking rather intimidating for a moment. Her as a pet… she’d love to see who would try such a thing.

The one who turned her had… even ordered her to kill her twin. She might have too, overcome with blood lust as she first awoke. What her sire had not planned on, however, was that in turning her he would awaken Theia’s gifts. She had been able to push back Chandra’s blood lust with it and then together they had taken care of the vampire who thought he could make them mere toys….mere shadows of themselves…

Elizabeth, though she actually preferred being called Beth by her friends, few that they were, was sitting off on her own with a book as usual. She didn't care much for social interaction, considering the number of times she'd been let down by someone who told her to trust them. Even her parents weren't worthy of being trusted. In short, Beth came off as a pessimist due to her lack of faith in the human race. Even her friends weren't really friends.

The people around her were much to cheery for her liking, and she couldn't help but feel that all of them, even the vampires and therians, would let her down if she put even an ounce of trust in them. Shaking her head at all their useless conversation, she buried herself even further into her book, effectively blocking herself off from the rest of the world. To be fair, a small part of her did want to enjoy the company of friends, but the rest of her was adamant that she would not be the one to start such a relationship.

Theia noticed a girl off by herself, using her powers to take a peak at the girls aura and verify that she was one of hers. She moved to other girls side and smiled, gently tapping on her shoulder. She didn't want to startle her after all. She would wait for the girl to look up from her book before she spoke and simply observed her for a moment. She would not use her powers to do so, however, just her eyes.

"i beleive you're one of the students for my dorm? I'll need you to gather over with the others, sorry. My name's Theia by the way, if you need anything I'll be the one you come to." She said cheerfully, genuine warmth in her voice. Unlike her sister she believed in this school despite it being the first year of it being open. She felt it would work, that it would teach the new generation to get along and ultimately lead to peace. Chandra called her view naive but Theia was stubborn by nature and didn't care.

Looking up from her book with a glint of anger in her eye, Beth glanced at the girl in front of her warily. Using her powers, she scanned her mind for intent. Nothing malicious. Of course, she was certain that the girl would fail to notice her soft touch on her consciousness. Few of the vampires could for that matter. Sighing, she stood, her attention still aimed at nothing but the book as it lifted from her hands and floated in front of her so that she could grab her bag. She simply gave a curt nod to Theia before moving closer to the others, though it was obvious that she wasn't a part of the group due to the distance she kept.

Shifting one eye to Theia, Beth noticed a girl who looked remarkably similar, and upon a nanosecond of thought, concluded that they were, at the very least, sisters. The only difference was the eyes. Theia's were blue, and the other girl's were violet, which seemed to signify that she wasn't quite human. A gentle prod of thought concluded that she was indeed a vampire and that they were actually twins. She was able to sense that they cared greatly for one another, a notion that made her scoff. What would happen when one betrayed the other? 'Twas an inevitable occurrence after all.

Theia felt the soft push, being one of the most powerful psychics of her day as well as sharing power with a vampire through her connection with her twin. Still, she did not begrudge the other woman it at all. When it came to magic they were the bottom rung and often scoffed at by the more powerful ethereal beings, often even outcast even among normal humans who never quite trust them. She simply said 'thank you' as she joined the others and waited for the last of the students to arrive.

***

Chandra however, was not so forgiving as Theia. Instantly her cold violet eyes narrowed slightly. She reached out to Theia's mind, exchanging a simple conversation. She was ready to ...inform the other psychic it was rude in the harshest ways possible. Simply for no other reason that since the vampire who turned her attempted to control her mind any type of touch other then Theia's mind instantly filled her with dread and pain.

~ That blond is trying something...~ she mentally hissed and started the telepathic communication, though her face stayed it's perfect mask. She'd never been social but ever since the incident with the vampire she was positively paranoid and icy. She clung to her sister even more since that day, depending on her heavily for everything...particularly when it came to anything requiring social interaction.

~ Oh Chanie dear, it's alright. She's just had a rough time of it i'm sure.~

~ Why don't you find out! Rather then leaving us vulnerable.~

~ I love you dear but you know I don't do that Chandra...I won't be like HIM.~

~ I know, i know but...~

~ But nothing, now try to smile and look a little less grim! You're suppose to be welcoming the other vampires, not scaring them away. You can do that later when they get to know you.~ She teased softly, a laughing tone in her mental 'voice'.

~ Yeah, yeah, yeah..~ Was Chandra's curt response though she did try to smile. There was still something cold and almost insincere about it however.

Beth jumped a bit at being discovered, though it was more from shock than anything. No one had ever sensed her before. Ever. Even the most powerful people were deaf to her touch. As the connection was still open, Beth could glean background information from the minds of the twins, which resulted in her discovery that the bond they shared was what made them more sensitive. "Interesting," she thought, momentarily forgetting that they could hear what she said just as surely as she could hear them. Along with their words came a flickering sense of anger from the vampire, and cool kindness from the human. It was truly fascinating to see the two of them interact. It was like yin and yang in the flesh. Despite the majority of her scorning relationships, Beth couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness, and possibly jealously, that she lacked a friend like that. Hurriedly, she recited Shakespeare's Julius Caesar to wall off her mind before retreating back to herself, alone again.

Theia sighed as the blond 'spoke' and gave chandra a warning look a moment as the vampire seemed ready to jump on the blond. She reassured her quietly, using her powers to make chandra feel like she was giving her a hug with the promise to give her a real one later. It took some moments to calm the vampire down but theia managed. She took a breath before she wrote a quick note. She passed it to Beth silently before she walled off her and chandra's mind. She never entered another's mind without permission or she would have just said the message telepathically to Beth.

Hi! the note read in Theia's messy but delicate cursive. I kindly request you don't brush Chandra's mind again. She's had some bad experiences that make it really hurt her. Also a lot of the teachers here are old and battle scarred warriors who can react a bit paranoid to it as well, though if you have too much trouble with any of them you can come to me. I know most of the teachers personally so I can generally talk them down. It's just considered standard here to ask permission before entering a persons mind unless in self defense, such as their attacking you.

Still, I'd love to be your friend! Don't feel bad or anything, you just didn't know <3.
She even drew a heart to show she was reaching out to the girl, as was her nature. She loved making friends jsut as much as Chandra hated it. They really were night and day... the headmaster who was also their adoptive father always called them the 'sun and moon twins'. Their connection to the headmaster as well as Theia's pure power was the reason she'd been used to scan the teachers for dark motives. It was the reason she knew all the teachers personally though she never would reveal anything. Theia was the ultimate secret keeper.

The note, however kind, sent a spark running through Beth's veins. "Why? What do you want?" she interrogated, throwing the question at Theia rather harshly. While she herself wasn't present in the other girl's mind, the message carried enough energy to barrel through any defense she may have, delivering itself as surely as if she had entered her mind. She continued, "I won't be a pawn. Whatever it is you want from me, you can forget it." With that, she stood up and left. She walked calmly until out of sight, then started running.

While her telepathy was clearly lacking in power, her other abilities were quite strong. Especially her telekinesis. She doubted that there was a stronger telekinetic person in the school, if not the world. Few psychics could even boast of having more than one focus for their powers. Usually they had either telepathy or psychokinesis. Telepathy included clairvoyance, pathfinding, etc, while psychokinesis included telekinesis, energy manipulation, etc. She had both, though her psychokinesis was much stronger than her telepathy. It truly wouldn't surprise her if Theia had both as well, though her telepathy was clearly the stronger of the two.

As she ran, she used telekinesis to move faster than humanly possible, easily matching the speed of a vampire. No destination presented itself in her mind, she just wanted away. Eventually, she hit a small shed. It was locked at first, but her telekinetic abilities allowed her to move the tumblers in the lock to open it. After slipping inside, she used her powers again to lock it. Then she slumped against the far wall and started to sob. The clash of desires and emotions in her mind were too much to bear, and so she fell asleep, her body relaxing at last.

Theia sighed as she was barraged with the angry questions, opening her own mind just enough to reply. At first she was silent, not really sure what to say and honestly a little hurt. Theia had always had a wide, open, and rather vulnerable heart. She frowned to herself, something that caused Chandra to look over as she wasn't use to her sister doing anything but smiling. Still Theia simply reassured her sister then answered Beth.

~The only thing I ever want. I just want everyone to be happy and safe. That's why I am apart of this school. Hell... it's the purpose of this school~

Ziva turned her green eyes on the running girl and frowned a moment. The way she was moving and with some of the creatures in this school that could be dangerous. Meekly she handed the clipboard to another assistant of the dorm leader, therians being naturally pack there was always someone willing to take second place from her if only for a little while. She could feel some of the therians shuffle excitedly, seeing someone run tugging at their animal instincts by its very nature.

She sent out her beast, using the pheromones she'd learned to produce using it to calm the others. It was this unique ability that kept her second in command despite her submissive nature. Once she had them calm she chased after Beth, her speed being second only to cheetah therians. She paused outside the door and looked to the lock. This shed was far too close to the hunting grounds... it wasn't safe.

"M-m..Miss? You...you really can't be back here..." She said quietly, though it was too quiet to wake her. Ziva frowned, debating waking her when she heard a snap. One of the younger therians was hunting and had caught the scent of Beth's fear. It was the quickest way to lure one and soon it was approaching in the shape of a large wolf. It was hard to beleive that the therian was only three... a child of one of the teachers. The teacher was human but the child had been attacked, she taught here only because it gave her child somewhere safe to grow up with people who knew what it was like.

The child was too frantic and too far gone, however, at the moment for even Ziva to calm him. When one was in full hunt mode nothing could calm you but yourself, something the child had yet to learn. Ziva muttered a small oath as it ran at the shed and she partially transformed. She gained her snow leopard an ear and tails as well as fur along her lower arms and paw like clawed hands. She grabbed the wolf as he leaped at the door, throwing him over her shoulder and away from the shed. She hissed, forcing herself to act dominant.

This is mine, leave growled in the voice and native tongue of a leopard, knowing it would appeal to the sacred rules and instincts of the wolf beast in the child. You did not take prey from a dominant, older, or stronger foe. It was a sign of respect. The wolf growled and looked ready to pounce again but there was a darting rabbit near the forest edge. The werewolf bowed it's head and ran after the rabbit instead and disappeared into the forest.

Ziva sighed and shifted fully human again, sliding down the wall of the shed. She muttered to herself something about 'and this is just the first day....' before she gazed back at the girl. When she woke up she'd have to talk to her... explain to her. She could not go near the forest in the evening without an escort. No human could...it was the rules so that no one would be hurt, including the therians just trying to hunt. They were not mere beast to be hurt even if a human had the powers to fight. She wished the girl had waited for the rules to be spelled out...

Beth slept soundly, her body pulling in energy from the environment around her. While she slept, however, her mind was working, unconsciously creating a thoughtform projection. The projection appeared alive and was three-dimensional. Due to it's nature, it could even make people feel it when it touched them, but it was simply a creation of Beth's mind. The projection took the form of a small child dressed in a nightgown, her ice blue eyes wide.

"'Scuse me," the projection called out, tapping Ziva on the shoulder as it stood next to her. "I'm lonely. Would you play with me?" The apparition looked around in wonder at where they were, reveling in the scent of the trees and the colors they threw off. It spun in a circle for a few moments before stopping abruptly and staring at Ziva. "I recommend you not sit there. If she wakes up, she'll panic. And it sounds like she's waking up no..."

The projection was cut off as Beth sat up, wiping at her eyes and looking around. The memories came crashing back, but she managed to keep a straight face as she shoved them aside, standing up and heading for the door. Really, she was frustrated over being so unsettled, and she was determined to never let it happen again.

Heiro sighed and ran a hand through his hair for what had to be the twentieth time already that evening. He was supposed to be with the other staff, greeting students and making sure nothing went awry, but he was hesitant to face the crowds. He was assured by the headmaster that he had a place here and was well suited for the course he was to teach, but he knew how most vampires and humans felt about dhampir. Then again, if he played up his power a bit, and acted more haughty, maybe he could fool the youngsters into thinking he was a full vampire, right?

Chuckling lightly at his pathetic attempt to dodge the bullet, he shook his head and stood, cracking his neck and knuckles before jumping down from the fence that enclosed the outdoor training area. As his boots hit the ground, he saw the blur of a person running past the entrance to the training grounds. He frowned and muttered to himself as he started towards the gate with long strides that quickened as he felt two waves of power, both shifter. Panic began to overcome him as he realized that was the direction of the hunting grounds.

However, the clash was over nearly as quickly as it began, the wolf readily accepting easier prey. Heiro, deciding it was better to let the child run and wear himself out before retrieving him, hung back in the shadows of the nearest building for a moment, watching the feline shifter to be sure she was in control of herself. He then stepped forward, seeming to materialize from the darkness, the shadows clung to his form like they always seemed to.

He stopped in his tracks, though, as an unfamiliar energy washed over the area and a small girl seemed to appear out of thin air. The distraction was brief, however, as the psychic young woman woke. More confused and cautious, he silently walked over to the shed, dark eyes scanning the area for any more disturbances.

"Is everything alright?" He asked, accented voice soft, but firm as he tried to act like he actually belonged in the staff.

((Edited))

Ziva stood and spun, normally sensitive to changes in energy but had been to weakened by the sudden shifting back and forth to notice. She stepped away from the door but still waited until the other woman came out. She took a deep breath, part of her expecting to be hit. The pack she came from before this school had not been too gentle. They were not always cruel, but they didn't like to be challenged and so she had learned to challenge no one without expecting a price. Before the girl could exit, however, the therians sensitive ears picked up the sound of Heiro. he was one of the teachers she knew but she still found him intimidating. Especially when he came from the shadows like that. Then again she had been taught to fear vampires as her pack was raised in the old way.

"I...e..er...Yes... I..I took care of it...S..sir." The startled therian said quietly, running a hand through her hair nervously. She wasn't sure what to say to the the vampire now. She remembered the girl after a few moments, however, and turned towards the door. Part of her wanted to leave but she was afraid the girl would be just as intimidated by the teacher as she was. She had to be brave... had to speak.

"E..e...excuse me miss?" She said in a near whisper once Beth stepped out the door. Her mind drifted to the little girl, Beth looked somewhat like her. Had the little girl come from her? Maybe she'd ask the Gifted dorms head about it... she was always afraid to approach her though. Her vampire sister was too scary! She shook off the thought, focusing instead on the present issue.

"y...you can't come back here without a..t..therian escort. It's for everybody's safety...s..s..sorry." She stuttered out and bit her lip slightly. She watched Beth then, half afraid she'd run away into the woods and the other half afraid she'd hit her or something. She'd already proven she had some psychic or magical ability and that could be dangerous... At least Heiro would likely sense if she was going to do something...and he'd protect her right?

Turning towards Ziva, Beth gave her a glare, her walls up again. "You're here, aren't you?" she asked, her voice quiet. "That's enough for me." With that, Beth started walking back towards the school. She completely ignored the teacher, not really caring one way or the other whether or not she got in trouble. She had no one who cared, so why should she? Her parents probably didn't even know that she was gone for goodness' sake.

As she entered the school building, she saw Theia organizing something at the front. ""I'm sorry," she sent, her tone flat. "I'll give you a chance if you give me one." Truthfully, she thought that to be the hardest thing she had ever done. During her sleep, the positive part of her won the argument, hence her change in mood. Of course, she wasn't able to come across as friendly considering she had never been friendly before in her life.

"I'm Beth, by the way. I know I never introduced myself, but there it is," she continued, purposely keeping the rest of her identity a secret. People became very weird when they learned who she was exactly, so she didn't tell anyone. Not even the headmaster knew her background. In fact, she had created a false one to give to anyone who asked, even if they went through her mind.

Heiro winced inwardly as the were-leopard showed clear signs of fear. Unfortunately, with his appearance, there was little he could do to seem less imposing. At least, it seemed that way. Unsure of what to do, he frowned and watched the two young women. The human seemed... disturbed. There were all sorts of psychics, many of which hold great power, many more of which quickly loose control of it. There was certainly something off about the girl, something that could potentially become dangerous. As she walked away, he made a few mental notes of things to bring up to the headmaster as well as the dorm leader for the humans, the latter being a conversation he was not looking forward to.

Once she was gone, he turned back to the stuttering therian with a slight smile and a bow of the head. "Thank you for your act of valor, it shall not go unheeded." He said, showing he was impressed with the selfless act. He was comforted to actually see that others were working towards the goal of the school. "Perhaps it is best you return to your duties now. I shall take care of things from here." he said, stepping to the side to allow her clear access to the path that lead to the front of the campus.

Ziva blinked a moment as she spoke, part of her wanting to point out that Beth hadn't known that but not wanting to be glared at again. She lowered her head a little bit and seemed to sink into herself, the motion was so cat like you could nearly see her ears lowering like a cat would even though her ears were currently human. She had only meant to help... She started to follow the other woman but saw she was heading towards the school.

"I didn't mean to make her mad..." she muttered quietly to herself. She glanced at Heiro awkwardly then, not sure what to say. She always felt like such a little kid next to him...even though she was technically an adult and in the advanced class bracket. Around him she felt more like she was seven and should be in primary... Still as he spoke of valor she blushed and looked down at her feet. She didn't think of it in such grand terms, it had just seemed the natural thing to do.

"Y...You don't need to m..mmake a fuss over it. It was just...just the right thing to do." She said innocently, for to her it was true. Yes, her pack could be cruel but they were also intensely loyal and held honor high above all. She had given her word to help protect the human students and so doing so was not brave, merely natural. She glanced back towards the school then in thought before turning back to the teacher.

"a..are you sure? I mean... I..I can handle it" She said quietly. The truth was that just about everybody her age or older intimidated her. She was never sure what they expected from her, who they wanted her to be... she just knew who seh was often fell short. She half preferred that she stay out here...

Theia glanced up from her clip board, having come in after passing out the rule sheet and going over it with everyone else. Of course, Beth had missed it so she would have to give her one. Chandra sat in a chair nearby talking with one of the new vampire students about donors and the whole system. Theia threw up a shield so Chandra wouldn't feel Beth as she felt her energy come. She gave her a warm smile, showing no sign of her earlier hurt and knowing her forgiving nature she probably no longer even felt it.

~No need to apologize, things happen and I know entering this school must be strange and difficult. and give you a chance? I give everyone a chance Miss beth, but I'm pleased as punch that you'll give me one too! I know it can be hard and I'll try my best to make sure you don't regret. I'm theia and my sister is chandra. Do you always use telepathy to speak? Just curious. either works for me. ~ She responded brightly, her tone genuine. She really was very happy to make friends... she wanted to be friends with everybody and never have to fight again.

"Don't call me 'Miss,' she responded, a bit more harshly than she intended. It would definitely take her awhile to become adjusted to speaking in a friendlier manner, but that knowledge didn't prevent her from figuratively kicking herself. "Sorry. I'm not used to being... polite. But anyway, I do prefer to speak through telepathy. That way I know that no one is eavesdropping." She sat down across the room again, leaning against the wall as she pulled out her book. Just holding it would keep people from bothering her, which was really what she was after. She could still talk with Theia after all.

"What did I miss?" she asked, looking around at the sheet of paper everyone, except for her, had. It looked to be a rule sheet, a prospect which made Beth sigh. She had had enough of rules back at the manor. Hopefully they weren't as tedious as those. Of course it made sense that the school would have rules, it's just that Beth was really quite sick of them. They were usually quite impossible for her to keep from breaking. How could she avoid being late to class, for example, when her stuff wasn't put away right? Of if she had to wash her hands on the way?

Theia blinked in surprise as she was told not to call her miss but did nothing to try and get her to change her mind. So she had problems with titles... a telling sign but Theia would say nothing about it. A persons secrets were their own, she held that above all despite her powers. If Beth wanted to open up and be honest with her that was her choice, if she didn't then Theia would not force her. She shrugged and walked over to give her the rule sheet.

As you can see they are fairly basic compared to any other school except the safety rules. I'll read them off for you so you can just put the paper away for your own reference if you want.

1. You will not deliberately destroy school property, though we understand that accidents happen.
2. You will attend core classes as well as your extracurricular classes you choose.
3. You will attempt to be on time to your classes.
4. You will not leave campus without first letting your dorm head know, being that's me it should be easy.
9. Therians must be clothed when in the main school building at all times, you wouldn't believe the objections some packs gave us about that...

Teachers are not above these rules except the rules about entering the dorms so if you see any teacher breaking these rules please report it to the headmaster or a dorm leader. I don't think they will but stranger things have happened. Those are about all there are. If you have any problems with the rules please let me know and I'll do my best to help you.
She sent quietly. She had clearly given this same speech to the others but it was slightly warmer when give to beth. She already considered beth a friend now that beth had offered friendship. It was as simple as that for the naive soul and always had been.

Beth listened to the rules intently, frowning at a few of them. She sighed aloud before responding. "They don't sound too bad," she said, thinking it over. "Less harsh than I thought anyway." She shrugged then, deciding to not worry about it. What would happen would happen after all. In all, her OCD wouldn't cause too much of a problem. Only being late to classes as she had originally thought. Her... paranoia might initially cause problems. She tended to scan everyone for signs of hostility after all. It would take a while to break herself of that habit. Time and trust. Of course, it slipped her mind again that Theia could hear everything she was thinking about.

"You don't think your sister will give me a rough time, do you?" she asked, suddenly thinking about how angry the other girl had been earlier. Her tone was quite different than it had been from the beginning of the day, however. It was a lot more mellow. The tense and suspicious feeling it had carried prior were gone entirely. It wasn't exactly warm, but it wasn't icy cold either.
