WAIT till you hear what I did to my friend the other night......

So, I had my friend over the other night, and she's never seen Doctor Who before, she was trying to get me to watch a scary movie and I said I don't do scary movies. She wanted to know why, I said, "I have a hard time sleeping after watching certain episodes of Doctor Who, let alone trying to watch a scary movie."
So, I ended up trying to show her the Library episodes, which kept me up for a good week from the ghosting and such, "Donna Noble has been saved. Donna Noble has left the Library." and "Hey, who turned out the lights."
Well, she didn't find that creepy or scary in the least. So I said to her, "Okay then, would you like to see the fan rated "creepiest Doctor Who creature ever"?
HA! So I showed her Blink from season 3 with David as the Doctor. The first time the Angel in the garden moved, she freaked out. When she was in the Police Station and sees them on the church, then blinks and they are right next to her outside the window, she flipped out, "Oh hell no! Oh hell no! Turn it off! Turn it off!" Then near the end when they are in the house watching the Easter Egg on the DVDs and they stop looking at the Angel and then turned with it almost in their faces with it's teeth bared, she screamed BLOODY MURDER. I had to pause it with ten minutes left cause she was flailing and screaming so much. Took me about half an hour to convince her to just WATCH the rest.
Let me tell you, I don't *do* scary, and *I* didn't even scream at that episode the first time I saw it.

That was fun -devilish smile-

Ohmahgoodness.
That episode scared the living crap out of me.
I didn't scream, but I sure did squeal in terror a lot.
Me and my little brother watched that one right before bed too.
Baaad idea.
He totally had a panic attack and I was fine staying up with him X3
But that was scary as heck.
Not watching that at night again.

I will practice.
I might fill a good number of pages of my sketch book with eyes.
Just over and over again until I likes it.
Then I'll try putting those eyes to people.
That's the hard part XP
All that detail into one teeny-tiny eye.

=nod nod= That's the best way to do it. I've done that so many times, hehe! For me, these are really simple and currently I'm actually re-working how I do eyes, but not in these freebies, lol. I'm leaning even more towards realism. So I'm filling pieces of paper full of my sketches working things out and trying new stuffs.

Yeahh.
I just figured out a new way of drawing faces that really works for me.
It's what I used in the art I drew you.
I've been finding that my style is leaning more towards a cartoon-ish look than manga, which is what I started from.
But it's all very fun :D
How long have you been drawing?

For as long as I could hold a pencil? LoL! No, really. But for me, art's always been for pleasure. The more I stress myself out because I have to draw, the harder it is for me. I technically should be better than I am, but I've sorta held myself back you could say. I'm also just now recovering from a 2 year art block where I could draw absolutely nothing. Lots of stress, but I'm back and doing great and just so relieved about it all. In fact, I've only been drawing again for two months, lol! (Three at the most.)

My biggest culprit is that there are too many things I like to do, so I can't just concentrate on one thing. I love to write, and read, and play games, lol, so I alternate.

@ MinaBaby: =hugs tiiiight=

Actually, I'm a firm believe that anyone can draw, just that some people can pick it up without thinking about it, some are prodigies, and some have to be carefully taught and encouraged. Since it's about expression, even as a human form, anyone can accomplish that. They just might not be aware that they can. ^_^ And that's okay, because some people don't want to. Those people usually find another outlet for their expression and excel at it!

Tasia:
Sweet!
And for me it depends on what kind of "have to draw" I get myself into.
Sometimes I'll go to bed with an image in my mind and three hours later I crawl out of my nice little bed to draw said image because it's driving me crazy X3
And for the art shop those tend to be sort of slow because it's not my idea, so it's in a way harder to be attached to.

And welcome back!
I've had streaks where I didn't draw at all.
Those were usually when I was writing.
But I love drawing my characters and such, so I'll write and draw sort of at the same time.

And I just like writing and drawing.
Reading is fun, but then the book I read goes straight to the one I'm writing and I don't want to steal from anyone.
I haven't read a book for pleasure in, I dunno...
At least a year o.O

Mina:
Tasia's right!
Anyone can draw.
It just takes different things for different people :D

no, I really can't draw..... I can mimic, but anything I try to get out of my own brain, doesn't work

I love books too much, lol! I couldn't stop reading. O_O

@ MinaBaby: It just takes time. Actually, at first there's nothing wrong with mimicking. I'm a supporter of it for starter-outers. Over time, once you feel confident, you will be able to create your own things and branch out on your own.

And for anyone who might burn my biscuits over that one, I shall kindly point you to RAPHAEL. Raphael studied under Michaelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.... and copied their works to study! He worked for them and had to learn their styles. He is now currently celebrated for showing how incredible art could be when combining Michaelangelo and Leonardo's styles together.

Mina:
That's okay =3
That's all I used to be able to do.
I would trace and copy and then take away or add my own flair and touches.
Like Tasia said; "Practice"
It helps muchly.

Tasia:
I used to be like that.
I used to read until my hands shook.
But then I was told that was a bad thing and stopped XD

Now I much retire to bed given it is four-thirty in the morning here and I have the last two chapters of of book to edit and finish tomorrow.
Or later today.
However you'll look at it.
Have a good night, y'all, and see you...
Later I guess :D

woot, it's the same time for all of us!
I can mimic without tracing... people don't believe me and then I tell them to put mine over the original and it's different lol

haha, makes you wonder why we're ALL of us up so late? lol!

And that's a good thing! Keep at it, and soon you can start introducing your own stuffs and then do away with mimicking altogether. =nods sagely=

Edit: Alllll right, time to get my butt in that bed over there... =looks to the left= 'Tis calling, haha!

And... omg, I forgot to mention, a little bit ago I noticed my gold count... and thought it said "leet" because it was 1337!!!

Then I realized it was my gold count... @_@ Yep, time for bedz0rz!

=waves= Night everyone!!!

Good grief, did I need to give all of you a lecture about sleeping when I left last night? Since apparently we're all in the same timezone.

(In other news, good morning!)
