lol okay.

Um. Let's see let's start with Life Studies then. So we've got Declan, Gary, Koda, and William.

I'd say William as a Hufflepuff?
Koda, I have no clue.
Declan, Ravenclaw with Hufflepuffian tendencies?
Gary would like to see himself as a Slytherin, but he's probably more Gryffindor or Ravenclaw?

I think William would be Hufflepuff...Koda too probably since he's not really any of the others.
Declan is totally Ravenclaw.
I don't know what to do with Gary. Maybe Gryffindor.

I'm leaning towards Gryffindor at base. and they are usually pretty good at having their heads in their asses, so it fits Gary. XD

Derek is a textbook Gryffindor. It's not even funny.

Jarred... Slytherin? I don't know. He's still a mystery to me (in some regard) cuz he's a mystery to Derek (kinda, Derek likes to think he has Jarred figured out)

Awww that makes me a little sad xuvrette, but I that's because Harry Potter will always have a special place in my heart. It was my first real fandom and I grew up to Harry Potter. I would be a very different woman if I hadn't discovered this series and I'm always very aware of that.

I was a die hard fan of Harry Potter, I still love the settings and everything.
I just dislike how things go since Goblet of Fire... and when Sirius Black is dead, that is the last blow. I hate how the story goes, how the character pairings are. First 3 books were amazing for me, but the more 'mature' the more I dislike.

Yet, I love the whole Hogwartz setting~ it is creative.

And I enjoyed them more as they got more adult; I liked that as I got older the books got older and scarier and grew with me. I liked that they came more literary (but hey I'm an English graduate student that's to be expected). The sixth and seventh are in my favorites even though most people are more critical of them. Though JKR somehow managed to kill all three of my favorite character (Sirius, Lupin, and Tonks). But I'm so used to that so it wasn't enough for me to stop reading.

Hogwarts is great!

I bought the last book, and before I get to read it, it was stolen. So i just take it as a destiny/sign by god, so I didn't read the 7th until now. Same with movie, I only watch until 6. And I have no urge to read the last... I still feel sore about it because I feel being bring into a roller coaster for a story ending that I detest.

So right now, I won't get involve in any story unless I know the ending is what I like. Spoilers don't destroy my enjoyment in reading, I would rather have a satisfying experience of reading than finding out a lame ending at the end.

It was interesting how she progressed with the writing...to follow her readers as they grew older.

I find it interesting to read the entire series. I may do that again.

But yeah, I really liked Tonks.

I liked the ending of Harry Potter, it was in some ways what I always expected with a few things I didn't expect and I love so much of what she did.

But I definitely understand what you mean. If I'm reading fanfiction, I tend to be like that. At least, if the fic I'm reading doesn't guarantee me a happy ending, I won't do it. I'll be dragged through all sorts of hell as long as it gives me a happy ending. I don't read fanfiction to have my heartbroken.

I have Doctor Who and Sherlock and other stuff for that.

Doctor Who breaks your heart?

I've just started watching Dr. Who.
I finally got Netflix, so I can get most of the episodes.
I'm a goner for David Tennant's Dr. Who. *whew*

Yes, it will definitey break your heart at times Jeanne. It usually puts it back together but not usually in the shape it was in before.

Where are you at?

And Tenant's Doctor is my favorite. He's just so swoon worthy and I have a serious love affair with his grin. I like him more than just that. but that's part of it

Well, when I started watching, it was just a few episodes here and there that the BBC was running.

So now I'm trying to get through them all.
I'm now at Journey's end...where all the companions are together saving the world.

Haha, well the moments that generally break my heart are when the companions leave. I cried so hard when Rose left. When Donna left. When Rory and Amy left.

When I'm reading anything I deem literary value (which Harry Potter falls within that), I don't want a cliche ending. I want something that takes a cliche and makes it new or does the completely unexpected.

And in literature, I don't find happy endings or 'good' endings necessary

Rory and Amy are the most recent doctor, right?
I saw the very first episode of him, when Amy was a little girl.
That was a pretty good episode.

My literary tastes have changed a lot. I find that I read more for enjoyment now, and I really dislike the "formulas" that so many authors use.

Yep, Rory and Amy are with Eleven and I love them so much even though I'm not that fond of Eleven.

The farther I get into my English degree the more and more I look at everything as an English major. It's annoying and interesting at the same time

I just love things that are well-written.

In my opinion, Stephen King is one of the best. He brings characters to life.
...but then he kills them off, which really upsets me.

Jane Austen is great. I've read everything I can that she wrote.

I've never actually read any Stephen King, but my favorite texts are things like The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien or The Great Gatsby or 1984 by George Orwell.

But I also have an appreciate for what would typically be called crap literature like romance novels because sometimes I just want to turn my naturally analytic brain off.

Literary? What is literary?

When I meant good/happy ending, ironically, it doesn't mean that I root for happily every after.
I accept deaths under certain circumstances... hard to explain... DX

But romance novels are so formulatic.

Boy meets girl. Boy loves girl. Boy loses girl. Boy wins girl.
Or mix it up a bit with Boy things girl hates him, girl thinks boy hates her...

I just can't take them anymore.
I think that's why I'm so much more into scifi stuff.
At least there things get mixed up more.
