After years of constantly polluting the world with chemicals and toxins, society crumbled. Those who died came back to life and the dead fed on the flesh of the living. Very few were affected by the new 'sickness' which came to be called Solanum. However, the sickness spread like wildfire. With a single scratch from the affected, one would change within the matter of hours. No one was safe.

While the world seems to be coming to an end, those who were left must do their best to survive.
When the worlds turns against you, you must fight back!

[I would like to thank The Zombie Survival Guide for providing me with information!]
The disease was first recorded by Jan Vanderhaven while traveling through South America. He describes those infected with the disease as bearing festering sores, mottled skin, and decomposing flesh. He said victims show no rational thought or recognition of anything previously familiar to the victim. They neither sleep nor drink water, and reject all food apart from living prey. The infected will attempt to eat all living prey that it observes. Vanderhaven describes seeing a hospital orderly throw a living rat at an infected individual, who then consumed the rat whole.

Solanum is described as working by traveling through the bloodstream from the point of entry to the brain, where the virus replicates in all cells in the frontal lobe, eventually destroying them. All bodily functions cease during this period, including respiration and heartbeat. The infected individual falls into a coma during this period and eventually awakens as a zombie. The zombie does not need air, food, water, or even a heart to live. Their one and only goal will be to find and infect other individuals. The only way to stop this is to destroy the brain or remove the head. Note that if the zombie is decapitated, the head still remains a threat.

The symptoms occur in the following order. The timeline may be several hours off, depending on the size, number and location of the bites, and the constitution of the victim.

Hour 1- Pain and discoloration of the infected area. Immediate clotting of the wound.
Hour 5- Fever between 99 F. and 103 F. Chills, slight dementia, vomiting, and acute pain in the joints.
Hour 8- Numbing of extremities and infected area, increased fever from 103 F to 106 F. increased dementia, loss of muscular coordination
Hour 11- Paralysis in the lower body, overall numbness, slowed heart rate
Hour 16- Coma
Hour 20- Cardiac arrest, cessation of brain activity
Hour 23- Reanimation

Solanum is extremely contagious and 100% fatal. Physical contact with infected blood or saliva always result in infection. Ingestion of infected flesh results in permanent death unless the victim has open mouth sores. Solanum is fatal to all living organisms, though humans are the only organisms that will reanimate. Parasitic insects such as mosquitoes reject infected hosts 100% of the time. All animals will instinctively run, swim or fly away from zombies.

Literacy

Semi-literate. I don't want this to become one of those /UBAR/ literate roleplays. I want to give more people a chance. I just want to be able to understand what you're trying to say. Make sure you get your point across.

Posting

No one should have the same color, try to be creative with it. :]] Posts should be at least two sentences long. I would prefer a paragraph but as I said before, I don't want to have to ask for /way/ too much. Put some detail into your posts and make sure to use punctuation at the end of sentences and capitalization. Third person, NO **'s for actions, use "for speach", and 'for thought'.

Censorship

Swearing is fine to an extent. But, don't go overboard with it. NO cybering. Follow the rules of menewsha!

Profiles

ALL profiles are to be PMed to me. Please don't alter the skeleton that I made, please don't post before you are accepted, please don't post the profile here, please post before the thread is open. But please do title the PM 'Zombie Survival'. Anime pictures only, please!

Outbreak Level : Class 3
Setting : Your Choice, In Town
Location : England. In a small town on the country side.
[After everyone's together, they can even move out of the town to try and find a safer location. :3]
Day : 1
Weather : Somewhat cold out, gentle rainfall.

About Class 3 Outbreaks
A huge crisis. Class 3 outbreaks, more than any other, demonstrate the clear threat posed by the living dead. Zombies will number in the thousands, encompassing an area of several hundred miles.

The duration of the attack and a possible lengthy mop-up process could last as long as several months. There will be no chance for a press blackout or cover up. Even without media attention, the sheer magnitude of the attack will leave too many eyewitnesses. This is a full-blown battle, with law enforcement replaced by units of the regular military. A state of emergency will be declared for the infested zone, as well as the neighboring areas.

Expect martial law, restricted travel, rationed supplies, federalized services, and strictly monitored communication. All these measures, however, will take time to implement. The initial phase will be one of chaos as those in power come to grips with the crisis. Riots, looting, and widespread panic will add to their difficulties, further delaying an effective response. While this is happening, those living within the infested area will be at the mercy of the undead. Isolated, abandoned, and surrounded by ghouls, they will have only themselves to depend on.

Username ;; Antique Doll
Name ;; Alice Malorie Mercer
Nick Name ;; Ali, Mali, Orie, Mer
Age ;; Eighteen
Gender ;; Female
Weapon ;; Crowbar && Tin Bat
Personality ;; Alice is generally a calm, reserved girl. She knows when to stay calm and when it's okay to break down. Over anything else in the world, she cares for those closest to her and would to anything to keep them safe. Although, considering what happened, she now views herself as a failure. Although she believes she has lost most of her reasons to live, she continues to fight on. She was once a very happy, and bright girl. Putting others before herself and always trying to make others smile. Alice is more of a follower than she is a leader, although if the position needs to be filled, she could take the position of the leader.
Bio ;; Alice was raised in a fairly normal family, being the oldest daughter of Emily and Eric Mercer. At the age of two, her mother and father gave birth to her younger brother, Alik. The two got along fairly well, although they had tendencies to argue like nearly all other siblings. Her life was really no different than any normal families. She attended school, had a couple of friends, got into trouble on occasion, and so on.

Her mother and father were among the first to go, although it wasn't herself that was forced to kill the two, it was her brother. Having come home from school, the two arrived to the dead, bloody, moaning corpses of their two beloved parents. The two ran outside and the two dead followed them. Running to he back, her brother took a hold of an Axe and did away with their mother and father. When the breakout really began, Alice started to brainstorm on what she could do to save herself and her little brother. After quite a bit of thought and after examining what few undead roamed the neighborhood, through covered windows, she devised a plan to keep the two safe for a short period of time. It took her a little over three days to do it but, she was able to get rid of the staircase leaving herself and her brother trapped on the second floor of their home with a nice amount of food. With the bottom floor boarded up and being trapped on the top floor, they were safe from the undead. However, the food ran out and they became hungry. Eventually, Alice allowed her fourteen year old brother to go to the first floor and see what he could find. When he got back, he never mentioned that he had a run in with a zombie and had gotten bitten on his right hand. It wasn't long later that Alice found herself being forced to kill her undead brother. It nearly killed her inside but, from there she went on focusing more on saving herself than anyone else.
Appearance ;; [ x ]

Gender ;; Female

Personality ;; Very shy and quiet, Invidia is usually the one who pays the most attention to the people and things around her. She's a loner, rather anti-social, but that's something she may have to overcome to survive the hell on Earth. She's what you could call an "Old Soul"; she understands people and life more than you would think. When you get to know her, she's very nice [almost TOO nice] and she has a decent sense of humor. And when you're in a romantic relationship with her, she can be very affectionate and loving, putting her all into the relationship and ending up getting hurt because of it.
Bio ;; Invidia was raised in a poor family, but she never really had it hard. She's always had a roof over her head, clothes on her thin body, and enough food and water to survive. She never knew her father; he abandoned her mother after finding out she was pregnant with Invidia. Her mother did the best she could to provide for her daughter.

Invidia dropped out of highschool and got her GED when she was 16. She instantly attended a technical college right after, majoring in Accounting. That wasn't her passion though. What she really wanted to study was Psychology. She was fascinated by the human mind. How people think and why they react the way they do in certain situations.

A year and a half into her studies is when the outbreak first started. She came home from the college to find the walls and floors covered in blood, and her mother nowhere to be found even though the car was still in the driveway. Unsure of what was going on, she locked all the doors and windows of their small, one story house. She sat in the living room, watching the news on the telly. Her heart seemed to stop beating for several minutes as she listened to the anchor talk about the disease starting to get out of control.

Having always loved zombie movies, she felt she had a decent upper hand. She armed herself with a machete she found in their shed and headed to the grocery store to stock up on as much food that would fit in the trunk, backseat and passenger seat of the car, plus a tent and some other supplies. She made her way to the tallest building that she could get roof access to, using the few days of calm left to move all of her food and supplies up onto the roof. She was safe by the time the outbreak hit class 2, but a couple of months into Class 3, she'd run out of food. Now she had to make the decision whether to just starve to death, or try to go down and survive among the living dead.

Alice forced herself not to scream as she peddled faster down the road, making her way through the streets. The town, the people, everyone she knew. They were all dead, at least as far as she knew and now they were after her. Ready to kill whenever they got the chance. A bookbag was fastened safely to her back, buckled in the front and a messenger bag was placed in her lap. The bicycle carried her on her way, staying clear of any undead creature that may have decided to try to get in her way. She had been trying her best not to kill these things, considering they were once people she knew. However, at certain times that was the only thing she could do to survive.

Never in her lifetime had she ever thought she'd end up being the one to end so many peoples lives. Did she end their lives? Or had they already been dead by the time she sent the bat swinging to their head? She had stopped asking herself these sorts of questions after she had used her father's last bullet to shoot her neighbor in the heart, but he still managed to come back. Alice had watched on the news that the things could be taken down by a serious blow to the head or severing the spinal cord right below the neck. She remembered watching it with her brother, not long before he was turned. It was the only real reason she let him go. And the boy nearly took her out right after, because she was too afraid to kill him before he turned.

Just thinking of this made Alice break out into tears, which she came to a hault. She came to a hault near what looked like an abandoned car. With a crowbar tightly gripped in her hand, she took a few steps towards it, being as cautious as possible. She pulled open the door, front seat empty. She checked the back, then the truck which was full of luggage. Upon hearing a moan she twisted around and spotted one drearily making it's way towards her with his single arm streatched out towards her. It only took one strong swing and the crowbar came down upon the creature's head, cracking skull. Her heart was racing, her teeth gritting together. After a moment of standing there, she spun back around and continued what she was doing like it was nothing, because that's what it had become. Nothing. With that, she emptied the trunk, loaded her bike onto the back and jumped into the car.

Invidia sat on the edge of the roof, her legs swinging back and forth as she stared down to the ground from 7 stories up. Her thoughts were racing, as always, constantly changing.

What do I do? Stay up here and starve to death or risk going down there and face those... THINGS so I can survive?
What happened to my mother?
How many people have survived so far?
Why don't I just off myself right now and let that be the end of it?

She sighed and turned around to look at the tent she had set up, knowing inside lay her mechete and a backpack containing a water bottle, water purification tablets, matches, map and compass, small AAA flashlight, pack of AAA batteries, sleeping bag, small first-aid kit, Swiss army knife, small radio with earpiece, binoculars, and a cleaning kit. She had constructed that backpack a couple of months ago when the outbreak first started, just for when the time came that she would have to leave the safety of this roof and travel.

She looked back down towards the ground, watching small bodies limp around, looking for fresh food.

The car gradually carried her in her desired direction. She tried not to travel too fast, as to not attracted too much attention, and in hopes the car wouldn't make a whole lot of sound. But she had to find supplies and she had to find safety. She imagined she could raid an abandoned home, but risk being attacked by any zeds who may inhabit it. Or she could try a grocery store but risk the same. The worse case scenario was running into a group of them. In which case, she wasn't so sure she could handle them all. One, two, three, maybe even four. But she'd seen more than that gathering in different places and she did NOT want to experience that many alone.

'I wonder if anyone's left?' she couldn't help but wonder as her newly claimed vehicle pushed her forward. 'If I'm still alive, there HAS to be someone else. I couldn't possibly be the only survivor of this plague. I couldn't flatter myself like that.' That gave her new hope. If Alice could survive, there had to be someone else out there. Looking for survivors, waiting to be saved, trying to survive. 'And yet, would I really want to risk teaming up with another when they might hold me back or endanger me later? Or maybe they would save me later? Don't get your hopes up, Alice.' She sighed, stopping at a small gas station in her home town. She'd been there many times before but never under these circumstances. She knew there would be something for her there, if it'd yet to be taken and she only hoped that that something wouldn't include one of the living dead.

Invidia slipped the backpack onto her back and headed for the fire escape stairs zigzagging down the side of the building. She made her way down, as slowly and quietly as she could. When she reached the last level, she glanced up and down the alley. It was clear... For now. She quietly slid the ladder down and climbed down, jumping the last few feet to the ground, landing in a squatted position, her knees bent and her hands palm down on the cold, wet cement. She stood up and looked around again before making her way through the shadows to the street.

Spotting a gas station across the street, she glanced up and down the street. A few zombies were scattered here and there, but if she was fast and quiet enough, she could make it to the gas station without being noticed. So she made a dash for the door, her light body hardly making a sound as she ran.

She slowed down as she came to the door, pulling her machete out of it's slot on her backpack. She opened the door only enough to slip her slender body through so as not to trigger the bell that had once been used to notify the clerk when a customer opened the door. A huge wave of stench hit her as she entered; the stench of decay.

She closed the door and looked around her. She didn't see any zombies, so she proceeded through the store, examining every aisle. She made her way to the counter, stopping dead in her tracks at the sight of what used to be a mid-teenaged boy lying face down on the floor, a bullet hole in his head where blood had once oozed into a puddle that was now dry and crusty. The gun was still in his hand; he'd obviously offed himself before any zombies could have gotten to him. She wasn't sure if he could still reanimate at any time, so instead of taking her chances, she raised her machete and brought it down on the back of his neck, severing his head from his body just as the sound of a car rolling into the parking lot of the gas reached her ears.

For a moment, Alice sat in the car, surveying the area. She took note of every zed in the area, including the one that tan up to the back of the car and was now laying against the trunk, clawing stupidly at the window and gazing dead at her. Looking into the back seat she took sight of an aluminum bat that sat on the floor. One end of it was covered in blood, clearly having been used before. Her crowbar was much shorter. It was painted in red with a hooked end, the other end being a rubber handle. It was easy to grip and less likely to fall out of her hand. However, it didn't extend very far from her arm. She reached into the back and took a hold of the bat, gripping it tightly. Opening the door, she didn't close it and instead just pushed it too. Without hesitation, she swung the bat as hard as she could at the middle aged rotting man aiming right for his head as he made his way towards her. Alice heard a couple large cracks. One erupting from his neck and the other coming straight from his skull.

She bit her lower lip and turned towards the store, looking her eyes and ears out for anything. As soon as she looked through the store window, she spotted another. She gripped her fingers tighter around the end of the bat and readied herself. As soon as she stepped into the store, it seemed the girl had noticed she was here. She stared at the girl for a moment but didn't move from her place. From what Alice saw, she didn't seem to be one of them. Her skin wasn't a sick green, she couldn't see too well but from where she stood, she couldn't tell whether her eyes were glazed or not. She seemed perfectly healthy, at least in comparison to those things. "I think it might be best to say something, just to be sure," Alice stated in a rather monotone voice. She was still ready for anything and she wasn't going to drop her guard for a second until she knew it was safe. Then again, the way things were now it was really, really hard to say when you were and weren't safe.

Invidia stayed in her crouched over position, machete still in the position it had landed, as she watched the car through the large window. She was pretty sure zombies couldn't drive cars. A small, cute girl stepped out of the car and swung a bat at a zombie that had attached itself to her car, and Invidia was positive that the girl wasn't a zombie then.

She didn't move as the girl made her way to the door and slipped inside. The girl stared at her, and Invidia stared back. Only when the girl spoke did Invidia make a movement to wipe the blood off her machete onto the pants of the body. She stood and slipped the machete back into it's place on her backpack before facing the girl fully and speaking.

"No, I'm not one of them," was all she said as she moved around to the back of the counter, slipping her backpack off and setting it on top of the counter, unzipping it. She grabbed a carton of Marlboro Smooth 100's, taking one pack out before slipping the carton into her backpack. She slipped the pack into her front pants pocket then grabbed a handful of Bic lighters, slipping on into her pocket with the pack of cigarettes before dropping the rest into her backpack. She looked back at the girl.

Alice let out a deep sigh of relief then walked to one of the short isles. Reaching down, she grabbed a hold of a kitkat, opened it and took a bite. She didn't bother to break the pieces apart, instead she wondered the isles looking for a bag of some sort. She came across trash bags, pulled two out. One, she laid over the boy that was on the floor. She couldn't help but to glance over at him from time to time and his severed head was looking more and more familiar. She didn't want to recall who he was. So, instead she him from her view. The trash bag she carried with her to the cooler. For the most part, she took water. As many as she could grab. But before she got stingy and took them all, she turned to the girl. "I can imagine you'd want some water, there's plenty more in here," she stated, lifting a hand and pushing her hair from her large brown eyes. She wasn't going to let someone who might need it go without. From there, she walked down the isles taking as much food as she could. Ramen, canned goods, chips, even a few candy bars, batteries, a small radio, along side a few other things. She'd noticed the girl taking cigarettes and Alice figured why not? She was gonna die anyway. . . probably.

From there, Alice walked around the counter to where they kept the smokes and looked them over. Grabbing a couple packs of Marlboro Menthol's and a couple packs of Newports. She grabbed a couple Bics and a zippo then began to rummage for fluid."Have you heard of any refuges around here?" she questioned, without looking up to look the other girl in the eye. It'd been some time since she'd actually seen someone alive, although it was a nice change to talk to someone other than herself for once.

As the girl did her thing, Invidia followed suit. She grabbed a trash bag and stocked up on water, canned food, beef jerkey [one of her favorite foods], some sweet treats, ramen, some more batteries for her supplies, along with a few other miscellaneous items.

When she was sure she had everything she wanted, she loosely tied the bag up and stood in the middle of one of the aisle, watching the girl. She glanced from the girl to the car outside, her thoughts racing once more.

The girl's question brought her out of her daze and she blinked a few times. "Huh? Oh... I have no idea. I've been on the roof of that seven floor building across the street there. This is my first time down since the outbreak hit Class Two..." She looked back at the car, considering asking if she could tag along. She wouldn't be in the way; she never was. She was good at being invisible, always had been. And if she were to tag along with someone, better a cute girl around her age than some creepy old man. But as usual, her shyness prevented her from asking what she wanted, so she just stood there, eyes glancing from the girl to the car to the street for any signs of zombies that might spot them.

Alice's mind began to race back to the happenings of the past couple weeks but she'd pushed the thoughts from her head. "I'd managed to board up my house pretty well after my parents turned. Probably around level one of the outbreak, I'd imagine. We stayed there for a while until we ran out of food. I headed this way not long after that. I wondered about on my bike for a while, found a car," she stated, leaving her brother mostly out of the picture. "I figured there'd have to be a safer place around here I can take refuge, maybe in the next town over. Maybe a museum or a library, I don't know," she thought, finally finding some zippo fluid. She took a hold of a first aid and added that to her collection then packed one of the packs of smokes she'd grabbed. Newports, to be exact. Looking at the car, she walked back around the register, in hopes of figuring out how to get the pumps going.

It took a bit of thought, before she decided to offer the girl a ride as well. "If you'd like to join me, feel free. I'll take you where you need to go if there's anywhere you wanna be," Alice offered, before finally figuring out how to work the pump. "Hell, yes I'm in the go," she stated, looking back to the girl. Opening the smokes, she dropped the trash on the floor, flipped one over, then took one out and placed it behind her ear. "I'm Alice, by the way," the girl added before giving the girl a small smile and pulling the bag over her shoulder. She approached the door first and looked out, from one side to the other to see how clear it was out. Good to head to the car at least, she pushed the door open and made her way in the direction of the car. She was ready to drop the bag and start swinging at the first sight of any zed.

Invidia listened to the girl's story, wondering who 'we' were when there was only her. She figured it must have been a sibling or friend that she had ended up having to... 'take care of.'

She blushed as the girl offered her a ride. "Well, there's no specific place I want to go, but I would certainly appreciate it if you let me tag along. I won't be baggage. I know how to stay out of the way when I need to..." She swung her bag over her shoulder as the girl introduced herself. Alice... It was a pretty name. She'd always been fond of Alice in Wonderland. The Cheshire cat was her favorite, and she loved to poke fun at the Queen of Hearts.

"My name's Invidia," she responded before following the girl's lead, slipping her machete out as the girl... Alice... opened the door and made her way to the car. Invidia followed, deciding she'd be look out while the girl pumped the gas into her car.

Alice was sure to keep her voice down when she spoke outside, just incase any were in earshot. "That's a unique name, I've never heard it before but I like it," she smiled, walking around to the ajar front door. She forced the bag of supplies into the back seat, keeping a pack of smokes in the front middle console, then walked around to one side of the car. Sometimes, she felt as though she were being paranoid. Always watching over her shoulder, never expecting the best only the worst of worsts. Or maybe she was just being cautious? Just as she was opening the gas tank, she look to the left and saw a gas can to her side. She couldn't have smiled any bigger. She walked over to it at a quick pace, grabbed it, then headed back to the car. She emptied the insides onto the ground, unwilling to risk any water being inside of it, then began to fill the car first. It took a moment but, it eventually filled and then, she went onto the gas can.

"Any ideas in particular as to where we could go? I can't imagine it'd hurt too much to check a couple places before we decide on one. And if we're alright, there's gotta be even more survivors around. If not in this town, maybe the next or the one after. If there are more of us, it'd be much easier to fight off a horde of them if we're attacked," Alice stated, finishing off the can and capping it off night and tight. She went to the back of her car, looking at the dead man against her trunk. She took her bat and pushed him off and onto the ground with it, then opened the back. She placed the gas can in, and pushed the trunk shut. She wasn't going to slam it, too much sound. It would've attracted them.

Instead, she simply leaned all of her body weight against the trunk and pressed down until she heard a hard click. From there, she pulled the cigarette from behind her ear and climbed into the car. Using the zippo, she flipped it open, ran it against her jeans and watched the flame burn as she lit the cigarette. It'd been a long time since she'd had one. The flavor was thick and strong but the feeling that it sent through her body was quite pleasant. Looking to her right, she gazed out the car window to the older girl and waited for her to jump into the car before she shut her door or started it. There were bound to be zeds running after the car as soon as it started, or even as soon as the doors shut.

Invidia made no comment about her name as she took it upon herself to shove her bag into the back as well. At least they had plenty for a little while. As Alice filled the car and gas can, Invidia stood leaned up against the back driver side door, keeping an eye out, machete ready for action.

She couldn't help but grin as one idea slithered its way into her mind. "We could always take Romero's advice and head for a shopping mall." She wasn't sure if the girl would get the joke or not, but at least she herself thought it was funny.

She made her way to the passenger side, pulling a cigarette of her own out as she slid into the car, shutting her door at the same time Alice did. As Alice started the car, Invidia lit her cigarette, almost moaning as the smoke filled her lungs. It had been a couple of weeks since she had last had one and she'd almost gone crazy up on the roof with nicotine fits.

Alice chuckled at the thought as she put the car in drive and took off, cracking her window the slightest bit to allow the smoke to filter out. "The mall cops wouldn't let us in and if they did they'd probably just hold us captive," she stated in reply, reaching her hand for the radio. There was a CD player but that wasn't exactly what she'd been looking for. She flipped through stations one by one, keeping a hand on the wheel and her eyes on the road, listening to the fuzzy stations. She did this from time to time, in hopes of hearing a broad casting of some sort. The military will swoop in to save us!!! My ass. They came from a small town that was already over run by the walking dead. The way Alice saw it was there were no other survivors. Maybe someone locked down in their basement but, a basement was probably one of the last places she would go. Hello, Night of the Living Dead? She'd seen the movie and she didn't want to be trapped underground, in a basement when a horde of the dead decided to break through the door and meet her below. Not happening.

Anywhere above ground, first or third story would be good if they could. However, if they found a big enough building to barricade themselves into, that might work fine as well. A safe haven. Alice had begun thinking more and more on where they could survive, she barely realized how fast she had puffed down the cigarette. She examined the end of the butt and saw how dark it was then, she pushed it out the crack of the window and basked in the calmness that had over come her from that smoke. It was a nice feeling, as though weights had been pushed off her shoulders. But deep in her mind, she knew very well that those weights were still pushing her down. From one side of the road to the other she looked, no longer bothering to stops at signs or lights, she just drove on. Cars crashed on the side of the road and a couple buildings even burned down. It was insane what their town had gone to but it was something that Alice had learned to cope with quite well.

Invidia almost relaxed back in her seat, her cigarette masking her in a fake calm she wished were real. She wasn't exactly sure what to talk about with Alice, so she just sat there in the white noise the radio produced, staring out the passenger side window.

As much as she had watched movies about zombie and viral outbreaks, she never imagined it would actually come true. She had dismissed Max Brooks' 'Zombie Survival Guide' as a fictional book written just for laughs. Who knew it would have actually come in handy? She wished she had stolen her ex boyfriend's copy, whether it was fake or not.

She rolled her window down a crack and pushed the butt out, watching it fall to the concrete behind them as they drove on. She suddenly turned around in her seat, reaching into the back for her trash bag. She untied it and reached inside, pulling out a pack of beef jerky. She sat forward in her seat, tearing into the bag and hungrily shoving a piece of dry, chewy beef into her mouth.

Alice road in silent a little longer, having turned the radio off as to not have to listen to that infernal crackling. When she looked in her rearview, she watched undead start after the sound of the car, only to fall back when they couldn't catch up. They weren't fast and they weren't slow either. About the same speed as your average living human could run. If you were lucky, you got to deal with one with a broken leg, or something that'd slow them down. Reaching into the back, trying to keep her eyes on the road for the most part she rummaged about, finally crossing the city limits, leaving her hometown and entering the next. She felt aimlessly about until she grabbed what felt like a cool bottle. Victory! She was careful about how much she drank, not wanting to over do it. She knew she would need some later and she would've hated to drink it all right away.

"Do you think we should maybe check some places. Get more food or look for people?" she asked, not knowing how good of an idea that really would've been. She slowed the car down a little as they passed through the town, looking through the broken glass in store windows looking for any glimmer of life. It was really too hard to tell while moving. Although most of the things would start off and towards any odd sound it heard. It was still at least daylight out, which was good for the time being. It was only natural for her to feel more scared at night, she didn't want to drive at night but at the same time, they didn't have a place to stay as of yet.

Invidia chewed on a few pieces of jerky before closing the pack back up and throwing it back in the bag, only to pull out a bottle of gatorade. Not only had she gotten water, but she had grabbed a few different kinds of sodas and juices. She knew water was the healthiest, but it would be nice to have a treat every once in a while, and fruit punch Gatorade was her favorite. She opened it and took a few sips before closing it back up tightly, as if it had never been opened, and threw it back in her bag.

She sighed and almost content sigh as she pulled out another cigarette and lit it. If it weren't for the undead stumbling around them, life would almost have been pretty nice.

Smoke swirled out from between her lips as she answered Alice. "While it's still daylight, it would probably be best to stop at a couple of stores and get anything we think we might need. Maybe go ahead and fill up on gas again while we can." She paused, taking another drag off her cigarette before grinning at Alice. "You know, one good thing about this outbreak is, for the survivors, everything's free. What a bloody nice change that is, eh?" She exhaled the rest of the smoke through her nose as she flicked ashes out of the crack in the window. "As for looking for other survivors-" She took another drag. "-If we meet any, then so be it, but I don't think we should go completely out of our way to find someone. Besides, then we'd have to find, like, a minivan... Which really wouldn't be such a bad idea anyways. We'd be able to carry more supplies."

Alice nodded and thought over what she said. Invidia made a very valid point. If they were to just go out of their way to find people, those people might not be there. They'd be risking their lives for nothing. At the mention of a minivan, an idea ran into her head. "You're right. Everything is free, we have the first picking to whatever we'd like," she stated, staring out the front window and tapping her fingers on the steering wheel. "Next time we see a car dealership, we should make a stop. The keys to every car in the lot are inside. If there aren't many zeds there, we could be making out with a brand new vehicle. Until then, there's nothing wrong with hot wiring the next van we see. And maybe that van would be just fine to keep as long as we can," she said, giving a small shrug. From then on, she kept her dark eyes out for any store that may be safe enough to stop at.

"I think it'd be a good idea to get a bike for you too, maybe. I mean, if anything happens to the car, bikes don't run out of gas. Just to be safe," she stated, her own bike being forced into trunk of the car. It was a really tight fit for the bike. But she figured if they had a van, they could bungee two to the top of the van. She'd rode hers around and about up to the point that she'd found the car. It was her younger brother's old BMX bike. It was small but, so was she. And it took her exactly where she needed to go as fast as she could make it. Alice looked in the rear view, then looked ahead. Coming up on her right was another gas station. There was the gas can in the back, but she was going to save that for when they'd really be needing it. Gradually, she slowed the car down, pulling up to the station. There weren't many other stores in the surrounding area, but she figured that was a fairly good thing for them.

Hunter walked the streets of this blood hungered area. It was a clam period and he was very glad about that. The rifle on his back was starting to get very heavy. He sighed and switched sides for carrying it. He fixed the smaller handgun in his pants. Knowing that he had plenty of bullets left, he did not try to find an ammo store. Instead, he looked around for some food of some kind. Looking around all her could see was more blood and destruction. Nothing more. He could tell that many of the survivors are in hiding and they would not open up for him. He then wondered off, looking for an empty dinner or restaurant.
He didn’t find many at all, but one did catch his eye. Walking closer, he made his way into the restaurant. There was blood all over the white table clothes. This meant that the zombies already had their fill in this area and would not be coming but for much at all. Walking around to the back, he found the kitchen. Wiping a surface of the counter clean he looked in the refrigerator for anything edible. Finding a few things, he cooked a quick dinner, a pick-me-up.
After he dumped, his garbage out he headed back outside. He needed to find a place to stay for the night.

[my mind was running a black, sorry guys ^^;]
