It was the perfect day for disaster,
I really should have known better.
The crowds were gathering close,
Their feet were shuffling,
I hardly could see a thing!
I could hardly move, let alone breathe.

Suddenly an arm pulled me out of the mess,
It was roomy, I was free, and the air was so fresh!
You tilted your head slightly to the right then asked, "Are you alright?"
I nodded and replied cheerfully, "Yes, thankyou so much for that!"
You just nodded back towards me and smiled back.
I should have asked for something...

I noticed right then I had lost my friends,
They were lost amongst the impatient crowds.
I tried to shout aloud to hopefully hear a response,
But all I could hear were the murmurs of the crowd.

You noticed the worried look on my face, and in turn asked "Are you okay?"
I replied to you, "Now I've lost my friends!"
"Oh," you began. "I'll help you find them."


You dragged me around as we zipped through the crowds.
I really should have asked for something...

Thankfully we find them just in time, before the fireworks are about to start,
I turn around to thankyou briefly, and then you were gone.


As the fireworks began to spark,
So did something within my heart.
Suddenly I realise, "Oh what a shame!"
I never even asked you for your name.


But somehow, somewhere I know you'll be fine.
If we are meant to meet again, then we will in due time.
Until then "Happy New Year!" wherever you may be.
Even if I will never see you again,
I hope you'll remember me.

Awe, I like this. It holds a sense of reassurance & innocence in it. <3 Very sweet. I especially enjoy the end-bit of it all.
