Hummy has a flipping finger? :O

How goes the questing Damia?

All our nails have to be short at work, cause our hands have to be as sanitary as possible and stuff gets under nails.

Hello The Wandering Poet ~ The questing is going slowly. Haven't made much progress on it in a while. Work & life are keeping me very busy. Most everyone at work keeps their nails short because the job causes them to break often. Rarely do you even see anyone at our office with manicures. I like to keep mine just a bit past the end of my fingertips.

Hello Hummy ~ I use mine often as well, but where people can't see it. Use it mostly for other drivers.

I cut mine whenever they get annoying but I probably cut them too far... I have no idea how to maintain nails/hair/everything else...they don't teach any of this in school and being a guy you're SOL.

They don't teach that to girls either. Most of it for me has been trial & error.
I still rarely wear make-up, my mom rarely did so I had no one to really learn from.
I only had one cousin who was into make-up & most of the time she got it on me it was war paint she would braid my hair up & stick a feather in so I was one of the Indians to her brother cowboy. They were 7 & 8 years older, I didn't have a lot of say on the issue.
So most of the time I wear make-up is part of costumes for the Renaissance Festival.

As for hair, I mostly just use moisturizing shampoos & leave in conditioners, with argan or coconut oil in them. It makes my hair feel better & healthier.

True but girls get advice from other girls (friends) and it fuels the knowledge. Guys do not talk about appearance in really any beneficial way.

Wait... you're supposed to leave in the conditioner?
Currently I use Tea Tree Oil and no conditioner.

Not always, there are a few conditioners that are meant to be left on, most are supposed to be washed out.
I like Tea Tree Oil shampoo it makes my head tingle. I use the tea tree oil a lot when I have sinus issues. If you have just plain tea tree oil mix it with a bit of sweet oil & rub a little in your ear it helps with earaches & congestion. When I have an earache I will also put a bit of it on a cotton ball & leave it in my ear while I'm at work since I'm out in the weather a lot.

Making it tingle because if you leave it in a bit longer it will numb your scalp, which is very good for my skin condition because my scalp itches very badly. I use the shampoo form though, but we have the pure form at work.

Out in the weather? Is that why you tend to get sick sometimes?

Poet ~ Yes that is why I get sick often because half of my work day involves being out in the weather.
I also have a few medical issues. One of the main ones involves my esophagus, I have what they call esophageal varices. Every few months I have to go to a specialist to have it checked & to get the veins banded if they are enlarged or bleeding. They have to put you to sleep to do the banding process because they do it by putting a scope down your throat with a manipulator to put the bands around certain veins. The bands dissolve after a while.

That sounds like it would increase the risk of infection a lot. Having potentially open scar tissue.
Definitely sounds hard to deal with :(

What sort of work do you do?

I have to be very careful. After one of the procedures I had to go to the emergency room because I started running a fever. It turned out to be a sinus infection which was good instead of it being an infection from the procedure.

Oh dear... that's not good... of course a sinus infection could potentially add complications had you not given it attention couldn't it?

Poet ~ Yes it could, but it was better it was that instead of an infection from the procedure. And it was nice that it wasn't a sinus infection with coughing & that sort of stuff. That could have done some damage & made healing take longer.

Razor: Thank you so much.

I've really got to update this thread sometime soon.
These need to be on the front page.

When did you last update?

Coughing definitely wouldn't be good for that. Are you able to have honey and such things or does that impair the healing process as well?

Poet ~ Truthfully I'm not sure when I last really updated the thread. It has been a while. I'm not sure about honey. I will have to ask about it.

Shadami: Thank you so much I love it.

I just know that Honey can be fatal in infants, so there's some stuff in there that can cause complications to a compromised system.
Interestingly enough, honey can not spoil. Because any bacteria that enters it dies.

It is a number of things. Wiping out their food sources, pesticides, etc.
We are also raising temperatures as well. So many things they have to adapt to, and small as they are they are likely fragile to the effects of particle percents in the air as well.

With the el presidente declaring climate change a hoax, this will only get much worse.

Hello Hummy & Poet. Thank you both for keeping my thread going. Sorry I haven't been up to posting a lot lately. With all the family stuff going on my heart just hasn't been into much. I've taken up knitting to help relax some, it did help some at the hospital with Miscreant's dad. I have finally finished the scarf that I really started working on during our vacation. Guess I should have measured it, I'm gonna guess it is around 5 feet long.
I'm still trying to figure out how to explain to my Mom that I'm just gonna start ignoring & go into hiding whenever mother's day weekend happens. I've got so many bad memories & deaths now associated with that weekend.
