Has anyone read any of his books? He is most renown for his Lone Drow series. He is also a major influence in the Forgotten Realm group. I personally am a fan, though I have One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest to read right now for school. That's a good one too, but in the way of my joy reading DX

I see. You jumped in the middle then. There are quite a few books (multiple trilogies) that come before it that puts it all together. Haha.

I read... that first one in that first Drizzt trilogy.. and then i lent the books to my younger brother and never got them back. xD I have some friends who are great fans of his Drizzt work.
(Psst.. you may want to edit your thread title.. you got an L and A mixed up in there :))

((Thanks... But I don't see the thread edit tools DX))
Right now, I have finished the first trilogy, and am on the Crystal Shard. I love the series, and the fact that there are many series from many writers all in the same world.

I actually love R.A. Salvatore's books.
I've read almost all of the books in the series, though probably not in correct order.
There are also other authors like Lisa Smedman who have written other drow inspired books. I'll have to see if I can find the other ones.
Though I do have to say, R.A. Salvatore's style of writing has inspired me the most to want to write my own stories.

I agree with you there. I also want to get into some of his other series, like his one with Artemis, and Jarlaxle. Funny how that bald drow gets everywhere's... o.o

I read one of Salvatore's books once... I think it was something like The Thousand Orcs or something. It was good, but I had really little knowledge in D&D stuff, so I was pretty lost regardless. I enjoyed it, but I never finished it and didn't pick up another one... I really ought to sometime.

I've got most of his Drizz't books but I've also read his Crimson Shadow series, The Spearwielder's Tales and Chronicles of Ynis Aielle. I enjoy his writing a lot although my one beef with his writing is his bad foreshadowing. He often puts little things like "little did he know that. . ." and it just becomes somewhat annoying when you always know something bad is going to happen

I agree with you there Netanyahu. He also has this thing where if he starts using another word, it appears often for the next little while.
((Thanks Fiarra!))

Evandrai it depends on what series you want. If you're going for Drizz't books the start with The Dark Elf Trilogy: Homelad, Exile and Soujourn.

I don't care, I know I like the author so any series would be fine. I've heard about the Dark Elf Trilogy so I'll start hunting them down over winter break, thanks!

Salvatore is one of my most favorite writers. I have 1-10 of the drizzt books and a few of the other series, one that has Artemis, and Jarlaxle...Who I have to say are two of the gratest villians ever.
I wish I could find the book him and his son wrote together.
