- the epic story of epicness needed it's own OOC -

Many centuries ago, there laid a family by the name of Dalibor in the land of Chestibor. Those of the Dalibor clan had a unique trait about them that made others revere their talents and yet, at the same time, respectfully fear them. Such fear came not from who they were but rather what they did -- hunt vampires. Yes, the Dalibor were Vampire Hunters who honed their skills over the years. To ensure only the finest caliber of hunters, the Dalibor would only marry other hunters who possessed peerless abilities.

However, once in a blue moon, a daughter is born with a destiny so great that she will rise in ranks to ultimately become the lead of the Dalibor clan. Her name is Aalis and when she came of age, she and her twin, Aldus, were tasked with the most honorable duty of all -- watching a vampire, Vierryn Clavett.

Stationed on the outskirts of his vast castle that defied logical architecture, it was their sworn duty to carry out his death sentence for they are vampire hunters, after all. Even if Vierryn showed no malice nor threat to humans, the Dalibor twins vowed their lives to ensuring the eradication of vampires.

As Aldus guarded the base of the mountain, his twin Aalis guarded the center of the mountain where the castle entrance was in plain sight. Communicating through the use of a single carrier pigeon, the two watched and waited for the vampire prince to leave his castle upon the mountain peaks. As they laid in wake for the perfect moment to strike, Vierryn made his own deceitful plans. Knowing all too well that his death was forthcoming, he drafted a plan so clever that the twins would have to succumb to his twisted game. Sadly, before the night was over, the young Aldus wouldn't get to see another day. Often came the burden of eliminating the weaker force, or so Aalis discovered. Regardless, as time allowed, Vierryn's game would begin. Not only would Aalis be sucked into the fun, but also a family across the sea....

Across that very sea is a land known as Enguerrand, which is ruled by a respectable royal family set upon a large mountain covered by a flourishing forest. Said stone castle is home to the royal family Krasimir. Enguerrant is ruled by a brilliant King by the name of Nikola and his flaxen-haired wife by the name of Johanne. Years ago, the two brought the future of their kingdom into existence -- the strong-willed Princess by the name of Elena.

At the foot of the mountain laid a large and busy sea port. This port, Braum, is home to a young man whose destiny would be altered upon a simple statement. Originally seeking a role within the royal army, Aeltron Tahlae was hand-picked for a more noble role -- a knight within the Royal Guard, specifically tasked with protecting the Princess. Not long after turning 15, he was presented to Elena, just a mere 8-years-old, as her personal escort.

With each blooming of the flowers, the two grew closer and closer. A bond unlike anything ever seen developed and soon the threat became too real to just ignore. Between the passing glances, flushing cheeks, and passion within their voices, the now 24 and 17-year-olds needed an intervention. Knowing just what to do, King Nikola spoke with his envoys from across the land, both near and close, for a solution -- a prince for the princess to wed.

After much searching, a suitor finally arrived. The request was accepted by a foreign prince who the king knew little about. Trusting his envoys and not wanting to keep his daughter unwed any longer, he announced the betrothal and invited the mysterious prince to Enguerrand. Little did the king know that he was falling victim to a wicked trap laid by a very cunning vampire. And thus began the twisted arranged marriage game.....

Ever since he can remember, Aeltron had lived with a blacksmith. The man, Teket, forged weapons day and night, claiming that a man is only as strong as the sword at his hip. Although not his true father, Aeltron never questioned the man or saw him as anything else. To him, Teket was all the boy had.

Ensuring Aeltron wasn't one to shy from fights, Teket trained him in the art of sword fighting. He made certain that his adopted son was a man worthy of fighting in the noble's army. Although, the struggle with buckling Aeltron up was harder than expected. The boy's lithe body remained, even as he came into puberty. Teket's girlfriend at the time, Lissandra, saw something in the boy that Teket kept missing. When Teket was asleep, she would slip into the dark of the night to train Aeltron how to wield a true weapon -- a mighty bow and its quiver of arrows. To her, swords were unsophisticated weapons for pig-headed fools. Seeing Aeltron as someone more prim and proper, she helped the 12-year-old learn how to craft his own tools of the trade. She taught him everything she could about archery before he turned 15 and joined the royal army.

Teket and Lissandra wished their boy well as he went off to train for the army. Little did they know that he would amount to someone much more than just a foot soldier.

Despite failing the strength and weight tests, Aeltron demonstrated something much more impressive -- dexterity, intellect, and sophistication. When asked why he wanted to become a soldier, he stated, "I simply seek to protect our culture and defend those who are in need of a shield."

Taken aback by his calm, respectable demeanor, he was immediately pulled from the army. Henceforth, he served as a knight to the fair princess. Since the age of 15, he has been by her side. Although his job is usually uneventful, he has come to enjoy the tranquil life of protecting a precious flower. As far as he is concerned, there is no higher honor than being beside her day and night.

Vierryn's powers are rather unique. He cannot turn into a bat or fly, but he can make small clicks and use echolocation to help him pin-point the enemy. He's also got excellent hearing, especially when it comes to the sound of blood. Additionally, Vierryn is capable of melting into a pool of blood. This blood form allows him to slither away from the enemy and morph in a safer location. Think of it like punching a man who can fall into water. Only, instead of water, he's that crimson liquid that holds life together. The longer he's in the "blood form," the weaker he gets. So in and out is often the best approach for him.

Elena inherited the mind and will of her father, yet the regal composure and beauty of her mother. Due to the similarities with her father, she often butts heads with him, yet tends to back down and internalize her emotions due to her upbringing and place in the Kingdom. After all, she was a Princess and she had to have a certain level of decorum at all times. But, this didn't stop her from trusting in the one person she could speak to freely about anything, Aeltron. He had been with her since she was a small child, and over time he had made his way into her inner most circle, which was a true honor for Elena had very few people in this circle. It started out as an elder brother figure, but after a time it developed into something stronger. Still, it did present a problem: he was a knight, and she a princess. There were expectations for a Princess, and a female in general in Enguerrand, and it was difficult for Elena to know how to respect her position, yet also follow her heart and stay true to her person. It was a constant struggle within Elena, and it was something that often caused she and her father to butt heads.

*Elena is an only child because before and after Elena, Johanne had had miscarriages and still births. She can no longer carry a child, so Elena is the sole heir to the throne of Enguerrand.

Aalis is the 8th child of Elric and Diot Dalibor, and born younger twin to Aldus. In the Dalibor clan, a child came of age at the age of sixteen. By this age, they were supposed to have been either trained for the field, if they were male, or trained for the home, if they were female. Women of the Dalibor clan were treated with respect and dignity, but in the end they were still tools to join clans together to make the Dalibor clan stronger as a Vampire Hunting clan. In this, they didn't have much choice. There were small clans here and there, but nothing like the Dalibors, and this made Dalibor women desirable to foreign hunters. On the rare occasion, should it present itself, a female was born with the strength and tact to take on the role of a Hunter, and potentially lead the entire Dalibor clan: Aalis was one such rare occurrence.

Her talent was discovered very early in her childhood when she was playing with her older brother Aloys' bow and quiver. From that point on, she was trained in the art of Hunting, and her tactician mind became very useful in future hunts. When she and Aldus turned sixteen, they were tasked with the hunt of Vierryn Clavett. They had been on solo hunts close to home, but never this far from Chestibor. Unfortunately, it wasn't the mission the family was expecting, and it changed the course of Aalis' destiny forever.

I think we're good! I'm working on filling in the blanks and getting things organized - also going to transfer location information over here as well from the other thread just so we have the photos and everything readily accessible - I think we're good with the starting point though to where we can begin! And if we are unsure of anything we can chat as we go and fix things if we need to :3

Sounds good to me. Which one of us will start? And do we want to start with the princess/knight first and add the vamp/hunter in later? Or do both right up front?

I was thinking since we kind of set up the initial arrangement in the beginning, we would start with Vierryn getting the invitation and acceptance, that would start his movements and would start the battle with the twins, then Aalis would follow after burying her brother etc. Then after we get them on the road like that, that's when we would switch and play out Elena and Aeltron finding out about the arrangement etc. and Aeltron would be sent to escort Vierryn from the port to the castle and that's when he would meet Aalis and we would continue from there writing both at the same time :3 Does that sound okay or do you have any ideas for a different set up or? I'm really flexible with anything lol!

I think I have the initial fixed finally if you want to double check - I'm thinking of putting the photos together in the order listed in the intro and putting it above the title - that way there's a small visual for what they look like without getting into detail etc. :3 What do you think?

That's fine! I think you meant fortnight when you wrote fourth night, but I'm kind of confused as to who the guest is? I know the "Shall we" is directed at Aalis, but I'm a little confused on the rest of the set up lol!

Waiiit - I think I know what happened - I wonder if we're not on the same page as to who's traveling the ocean to who's castle? I was envisioning the vampire going to the princess' castle because it's a change of location, change of scenery, and an entire ocean away from the vampire hunters - so totally new playing field etc. where no one knows who or what he is other than what an envoy has fed them. Were you thinking that she was going to him perhaps? Let me know and we can chat about it a bit before we change anything! :3

hmmm, I could have sworn you said Aeltron was going to get Vierryn so that's why he's cleaning up. He's not entirely sure who will show up so he's cleaning and preparing so either male or female will be impressed. After all, if Aeltron showed up and it looked spooky as hell, he would probably return without the Prince, demanding war against him. XD

OHHH! Nooo not at his place - at the sea port in Enguerrand - like, he's meeting his ship when it docks to escort him to the Palace. And since they're taking a boat across the sea I would think it would take quite awhile when they're only using sails - but I have no idea how long sea travel is but I would assume it would take at least a couple of weeks though? -really has no clue how long it takes to travel across a sea-

I get what you were writing now though haha My mistake for not clarifying!! But yeah, what I was referencing before with my idea for the initial set up was that Vierryn got the acceptance of his proposal offer, then he has his servants close the castle (cover the furniture, paintings etc.), and he has his servants pack his bags and ready the carriage to take him to his own port so he can get on a ship to go to Enguerrand - and on his way out, he puts the second part of his plan into motion, which is engaging the twins and killing Aldus in the battle, so then after that Aalis would bury her brother before getting onto the same ship, but laying low because she didn't want innocent blood shed from another battle. Then we would go to Elena and Aeltron and start over from there and then end with Aeltron going to receive the Prince and escort him from their port to the castle and we would start doing both characters in one post from that point. :3 Does that make a little more sense?

Gonna be honest, this explanation makes WAY more sense. The first one was hard to follow so I took a stab at it. Guess I should have asked for more clarification. I didn't even realize they were truly separated by water. Guess I have to rework a lot of that post. Kinda busy now so it likely won't be until Monday.

Edit: These vowels are getting confusing. @_@ Being to wish I made Aeltron Malolvir instead. I usually try to avoid repeating the same looking words over and over simply because it gets confusing. I think I mistook the twin for the location? I don't even know. I might rework your introduction so it flows better. ^^; Itll also help me clarify if I really get what's happening.

Sometimes I think it sounds right because I know what I'm thinking, but it just doesn't come out in writing - I won't be mad if you tell me I need to rewrite something because it doesn't quite make sense!! I feel so bad I didn't make it more understandable the first time so that now you have to rework your post! :( I'm really sorry about that!!

Oh funny - I was actually working on the same thing to help clarify it better! I usually start with a rough draft that gets all of the main points down then go back through and fix it/add to it - been doing it on and off but haven't had much time to work through it yet! I'll compare it to mine when I've finished and we can decide then! From my quick read through it sounds about right so I think we're on the same page now!

Eviiiiil! I love Iron Man so I naturally have to watch the Avengers: Age of Ultron. I thought it was awesome (but I'm also a huge Hawkeye fan). But enough about that! Back on topic :)

Haha The only comic characters I really like are Batman, Green Lantern, and Spiderman - others I'm not overly familiar with other than their names - some I know about more than others, but mainly I'm pretty unaware xD; My first introduction was Justice League on Cartoon Network for most super heroes other than Batman and Spiderman (which is where I fell in love with Green Lantern) :3

I cooked some ham slices (so much better than a whole ham!), frozen organic corn, and some white cheddar shells - it was really yummy!
