I completely understand. In some ways, taking Spanish helped me learn Japanese, because pronunciation is very similar. But I expect it's mostly true in French as well since they're both Romance languages... but I don't really know. It seems like half the letters in French words aren't pronounced.

It's hard. :c I studied French in school and had a literal 102% in that class (due to all my extra credit). But now that I am out of school and studying French on my own, I find that it's hard to stay motivated enough to keep a consistent schedule of learning.

I noticed for me, the problem with speaking French is that a lot of words sound literally JUST ALIKE, but they are totally different words. Or for example, when a word is plural, it sounds the same as a word that's singular, so you kind of have to guess if someone is saying something plural or not.

I just watched or rather listen to a Japanese show off of NHK and almost towards the end I realized everything was spoken in Japanese so I have to read subtitles. I don't think I'm learning very much Japanese I have to rewash this whole show. Sadly no one said where is the police box or where is the toilet or said hello or goodbye. I did hear a few thank yous.
