lol, I've got soooo many favourite books in my collection that its almost impossible to sift through to figure out a top five, but I'll give it a good try:
The Dice Man, by Luke Rhinehart.
The First Law Trilogy, by Joe Abercrombe
The Book With No Name, by Anonymous.
The Algibraist, by Iain M Banks.
Mr B Gone, by Clive Barker.
are among my top favourite reads, and if you have even an ounce of bibliomania inside of you, you'll read them too

lol, they're all scary, interesting, funny, weird and surreal. but what's the point of reading a book which doesn't break boundaries?

Most of my favorites are in the paranormal romance category. Like, the Dark Hunter series and its spin-offs the Dream Hunter series and the Chronicles of Nick (which is considered young adult instead of romance) by Sherrilyn Kenyon or the Argeneau Series by Lynsay Sands. Those would be the main series.
Young adult-wise books, I like the Peaches trilogy by Jodi Lynn Anderson or the Girls in Pants (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series) by Ann Brashares.

My favorite book of all time is Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. It's a beautiful book! I really like science books too like Cosmos and Pale Blue Dot both by the great Carl Sagan.

Uhhh, Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb. It's so hard to choose, but I think that's the book I recommend most often.

I have always had my tried and true fall back on books. Favorites are C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles Of Narnia, Lois Lowry's The Giver, Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series, Dean Koontz's Demon Seed, Clive Barker's Weaveworld, Frank Herbert's Dune Chronicles, George Orwell's 1984, Homer's The Illiad and The Odessy, Anything by Stephen King really, especially Cujo and Pet Sematary, and my collection of The X-Files books, plus some Star Wars and Star Trek Deep Space Nine books.
