Since Black Friday sales were so awesome this year, I ended up buying myself a tablet! Woohoo!

But since I've never owned a smartphone or really messed around with tablets before, now I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I have the basic functions that I wanted, like an ereader and a few educational apps, but there's still so much potential for me to explore. And I'm sure there's a lot of good stuff out there, I just don't know where to start looking first.

What apps would you recommend?
Games are okay, but I'd love to hear about everything that's handy!

The Whisper app is a place to post anonymously on. I wonder if there are any Menewsha members that use it.

(all app names in Red)

I LOVE Evernote for keeping notes in. It can sync all your devices. You can get it on the computer and have it on your tablet as well. ^_^

If you love books and reading, I recommend the Kindle app and Goodreads.

For movies, I love Netflix (subscription and monthly payment required).

For music, Pandora is a great free one.

And for GREAT free wallpapers, ringtones, etc, check out Zedge!

As far as games go, I love The Sims Freeplay. And My Boy and My Old Boy for the old Gameboy Advanced and Gameboy Color games (you just need to go online to get the games themselves. You can play them without an Internet connection once they are downloaded! ^_^). I would Not recommend getting the Nintendo DS or above emulators because they have lagged far too much in my past experiences.

Also, the Flashlight app is very handy to see in the dark, if you do not have one of those key ring light, this works great!

I also have AVG to keep viruses at bay.

And because a tablet is not a phone, I use Text Now for a free message app.

The only thing you need is an Internet connection to run most of those apps.

Oh, I forgot to mention the Clean Master family of products. They're free and really good. I use Clean Master, CM Security (it saved my droid from viruses and unwanted calls), and Battery Doctor.
