Welcome, darling, to Nightmares at Midnight. .
This rather delightful thread will be dedicated to making intertwined poems with the help of strangers. Here is how it works: I will add the beginning portion of the poem, you shall add on or start another, and someone else will add their piece. My only request is to keep it Nightmare themed while following Menewsha's rules to avoid being overly gory.

--(Start of Poem)--
Creature in the Dark

From the dark I hear a creak
The sudden crackle causing my sudden leap from the bed
Fearing what sort of freak lurks in my home
I grab the torch, blazing red.

The distant hall from my door
Seems rather like an endless corridor
Braving the darkest of nights
I approach Midnight's uninvited guest.

The flames twist at shadows as I move
I swear I heard a children's laughter
Coming from the living room
I dread now, the fate the awaits me after.

Finally, Midnight rings
The monster in the wall sings!
From the wall it springs!
Ready to pounce, oh poor little me.

Ghostly fingers cold on my skin
And in the mirror shines a wicked grin,
The shadows dance, the walls all spin
Like a spectral waltz that pulls me in.

The voices sing through the walls,
Their dreadful screams pierce my skull,
Nothing feels safe about this place,
As the shadows come I hide my face.

Grasped in a skeleton-like clutch
My body falls before me in sudden rush
Do I dare to open my eyes?
For who knows of the horrors that lie.

Cold and sudden as death
The demon shall not rest
Soon my blood shall be theirs
The smell of rot sticking in the air.

Oh demon, give me mercy!
Give this one human your spare!
Shivering and pale
I helplessly despair.

Alas, in this world of demons there is no hope for me.
