Reason: update; thread opening.
As a kitten, they are vulnerable, and need protecting and regular feeding.
Once they are an adult, they can hunt for themselves and generally perfer
solitude to the company of other cats.
Note: Since the lines are gender neutral, you may pick your desired
gender (as well as a name) with your new pet.
There was never any doubt that the island was supposed to be a tropical getaway
for pampered humans. But what some of the oldest cats argued over, curled up by the
empty fireplaces (when they thought the kittens were fast asleep), was why the humans
left. Left in a hurry, with possessions still lining the shelves, rugs still in place, plush
couches and tables gathering dust and pawprints. 'Of course they took their dogs,' one
would remark, tail bristling at the memory of the yapping, bouncing creatues humans
couldnt resist. What was left unsaid was that the humans left in a downpour- in boats.
None of the smug whiskered faces would have been caught dead in that drenching night.
And so the cats were left behind. There were rumors of course. That they'd all killed each
other off in a territory dispute (which no self respecting cat would stoop to), or perhaps
those wretched boats had overturned in the night. A few ruminated that the humans would
return one day - but it was all speculation at best.
Nepenthe is an island, named by the humans who inhabited it after the
fabled 'Anti-Sorrow' brew of Homer's Odyssey. There is a lake at the center
of the isle, bordered by the ruins of a quaint town. With the absence of the
humans, the buildings are in disrepair, and the vegetation of the surrounding
forests has begun to creep back in upon the town. Not that that makes a whit
of difference to any of the felines that reside here.
Answer one of the two prompts below, in 1-3 paragraphs. #1: Where were you the night of the human desertion? Did your human attempt to take you at all? #2: What have you been doing since they left? Learn how to hunt yet? Meet other cats?
Please post or PM your answers to me, clearly labeled
in some way for the contest and prompt you followed.

Grams are precolored kittens you can send to a friend. You choose which kitten
from those left to send, your recipient can choose a gender & name for their new kitten!
[15g each; still available are: brown, grey, black. These will grow!]
You may purchase accessories for your pet here if any are available-
items may only be purchased for adult pets. Remember since there
are no humans, any item must be slipped into, helped to tie together, etc.

If you'd like to add unusual markings to your cat, this is how to get them.
Dyes are made from berries collected, and so are only available in blue, red & yellow.
Rare dyes may be available occasionally, and are green, purple and orange.
I need to finish the sketch for the 2nd adult, but then a basic prev should be up!
Well, I wanted to do something different than my B/C on Gaia, a lot more laid back & with a more general audience. :3
Yeah, I think half my diet is from the bagel store. ;)
Hydroponics is indoor growing, so you can have veggies/fruits/herbs all year. I'm pretty new to it, but I like working there a lot.
Hahah, yum yum~
Ah okay! I thought it sounded familiar, but figured I'd ask to be sure. (What's Google? )
I only recently heard of it anyway.
That's pretty awesome you work there. I'd like to do something small like that one day. P: No soil, so it'd be less messy and all that.
Uh oh, better get that laundry. :XD
I think I'll have to do some laundry tomorrow. Oof~
