Atlantis
A once lost island in the Atlantic Ocean, it still thrives. Some parts of the city enclosed under a bubble dome to lock in air for the mortals and other land beings that venture down below. It was once said that after the island had sunk, Poseidon and his wife, Amphitrite, and son Triton, had come to live in fallen city, reviving those they could and changing them into what we now know of as mermaids. As the years wore on the sea God, he tasked one family to keep watch over him and his family as they slowly changed to living stone, sleeping till such a time came when his people would need him again. This family became known as the royal family, disciples of Poseidon, and imbued with special gifts. It took many years, but slowly the original family drifted apart and set about making their own kingdoms.
The descendants of that one family who still lived in Atlantis are beloved by all their subjects, and with great happiness of the city, they are celebrating the 13th birthday of the youngest child of the royal family, the only princess. Of all the city though, only a few select locations were very busy, and of these places, one small tavern and inn that was a special favorite of the royal family was busy as it still continued its regular business as well as preparations for the birthday party.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Walking along the beach coastline, you listen to the soothing sound of the waves, hoping to fall asleep again when you spot someone, or something, enter the local "haunted" cave. You're curious, especially becuase of the flashing light you see inside, and you follow. Standing outside the entrance, the caves internal darkness seems to swallow all other light, except for the one bouncing orb you see overhead. Cautiously you walk inside to follow it, only to pause at the sound of music, which makes you more curious and you proceed again. It seems to stretch on forever, but you've only walked for maybe 5 minutes, when you finally see the bouncing orb, which you find isn't really an orb at all. The glowing mass is in fact a small Fae, now flitting around you in circles, shiny "dust" falling over you, befores she backs away and her light reveals a door that slowly creaks open.

You peak inside, noticing the many tables and chairs filled with people, an area filled with people just dancing near a low-set stage on the right where a group of people were playing music of some kind, to the left is a display case featuring pastries and desserts of all kind next to a bar counter with one register, laughter rising from the full bar as people sat and talked and ate. Back near the opposite entrance is a set of spiral stairs, and out the window you see a strange city filled with people, no, not people, but aquatic beings, swimming while in clear tube like arches you see normal, possibly human, beings. The interior of the cafe is set with low orange glow, and a young woman with silver hair and ruby eyes smiles at you. "Welcome to The Rabbit Hole. I hope you enjoy it here."

Aria sighed as she walked to the front and flipping the sign to open for the cafe. Reaching back she tied her silvery locks into a messy bun, humming a new human song she'd recently heard as she used a new rag to wipe down the tables and flipping over the chairs. Her wedge heels clicked against the polished wooden floor, the black boots leading up to a pair of grey cargo pants that were tucked in. For her top, it was a dark grey camisole top, and then a few pieces of jewelry; a single chain necklace with a ring on it, a pair of dangling earings with rubies, and a small chain bracelet on her left wrist. Finishing with the chairs and the tables, she moved behind the bar and display case, double checking some of the items that had been alright to leave overnight before she moved to the kitchen to grab the others, like the chocolate covered fruits, which she had moved to the freezer.

Lilah opened her pale purple tinted eyes slowly, blinking up at the night sky. It was morning, but the sun hadn't lit the sky yet and the stars were still shining above. She picked up her hand to rub her temple, sand falling across her chest. She sat up looking around the beach she had been laying on, the tide was slowly lowering back to the ocean, no longer reaching her keeping her dress wet. Where am I? she thought. The winds were mild, blowing the salty air about her drying her long pale hair. The sound of the waves crashed in her head, which was throbbing. How had she gotten here? And better yet, who was she? She tried to remember, but nothing... Pushing herself up to a stand she fell back down. What was wrong with her? She couldn't balance. After a few tries she was standing upright on wobbly legs. With her arms outstretched she took a few shakey steps. Why did she feel like this was the first time she had ever used her legs? Walking slowly down the beach Lilah came across a cave, peering inside she saw a light. Maybe someone in here will know where I came from... She felt her way shakily inside the cave, down the narrow pathway, the light becoming slowly brighter and bigger. Stopping short, she saw a small Fae, before she could say anything the Fae was circling about her, a shiny dust falling over her face and skin. As the Fae backed away her light lit up a door that slowly creeked open before her. Lilah stepped forward slowly peeking inside the door. She saw what seemed to be a cafe, or tavern of sorts, with chairs, tables, a bar, but no one in sight. She stepped inside and the door closed behind her. Reaching for something to hold onto, her balance still off she called quietly, "Hello, is anybody in here?"

Smiling happily the angel winged woman dressed quickly in her performing outfit. It was an old blouse, with a bustier covering it. The green skirt she wore brushed the floor as Stellara moved around gathering what she needed for her performance. Though it was morning, Stella thought the guests might like to hear music as they entered the inn. Grabbing her wooden harp the brunette walked out of her room and up a flight of stairs. Along the way the sea could be seen trough glass windows, teeming with life and amazing color.

The sight of it all made Stellara want to sing. Finally arriving at the main floor of the inn, the young woman first went to greet the owner. "Hello Aria, how are you?" She wasn't so nervous around her anymore, but it had taken quite some time. Now that someone else had entered the room, Stella wished she could flit over to the stage in order to immerse herself within her music.

Adjusting his cloak as he walked along the beach, Frost let thoughts of before try and resurface. At least he tried to let such things happen. Sighing, he followed the sounds of the waves crashing into the beach. Somewhere here there was a cave filled with wondrous people and stories. Among them there might have been a person who recognized him; Frost doubted it. The young man could remember quite a few things from his past, which gladdened his heart but at the same time burdened him. Some of the things he had done weren't at all pleasant, even if they had been a necessity.

The sight of a light brought the blue haired man out of his reverie. Moving surely over the sand with his light blue cape flaring behind him Tobias soon reached his destination. Entering the cavern it was easy to see why such a place drove visitors to marvel at it's construction. There were three women there, each one quite beautiful in her own way. Instead of introducing himself Tobias went to appropriate himself a table. It had obviously just been cleaned, which had Frost applauding the service of the place silently.

There was no telling when Auris had arrived, or when he had managed to slip unnoticed into the kitchen. He was a shark though, a sleek, silent hunter, if he wanted to get by unnoticed, he usually could. It was in his nature, in his blood. He stood there in the kitchen, his legs were long. That made since, his shark tail was very long. Honestly Auris adored his human legs, but he loved his tail much more. Of course he'd been born into that tail, and he could manuever so silently in the water with it. Silent manuever on dry surfaces with human legs was a bit more difficult, but he had adapted. Some days he just seemed exceptionally clumsy. At least, today was not one of them.

The shark held a cupcake in one hand, nibbling on it lightly as he stepped out of the kitchen and behind the bar. His sharp bright blue eyes darted this way and that. No doubt he'd get fussed at for eating that cupcake. Still it had looked more delicious than any of the others, and of course it had to be more delicious than any of the others. Afterall, it was from the batch that were to be served at a certain princess' birthday. Auris was dressed in a black long sleeve button down shirt, the sleeves rolled up past his elbows and the front of his shirt unbuttoned so it hung open and left his torso exposed. His legs incased in black jeans and he was barefooted. Honestly, he couldn't walk at all in shoes. They were rather uncomfortable and just...too strange.

Aria had stepped out of the kitchen, carrying a few trays with cream filled cupcakes to put in the display case, and looked up to smile at Stella. "Hey Stell. I'm doing ok, yourself? Did you sleep alright?" She replied as she set the trays on the bottom slanted racks, and a few were removed to place on an upside cone shaped display. These were the ones allowed to the employees if they wanted a quick sugar boost. She moved around to the front to double check the display case to make sure the placards of the desserts were visible, as were the prices, when she heard the faint jingle of the fae guardian letting in a new 'Lander', as those from the human realm were known. Aria turned to greet the lost looking girl. "Hello and Welcome to The Rabbit Hole. How can we help you?" She greeted the girl, her happiness geniune.
As she started to step towards the girl, it did look as if she were a little unstable on her feet when she noticed Auris exit the kitchen and step behind the bar. She didn't stop the unbidden lick of her lips, she knew he did it purposely, he always did look yummier than her dessert creations to her, when she frowned at seeing him eating something. "Auris...I hope those weren't my special cupcakes for the princess." She spoke, her tone stern as she turned to face him, fists coming up to rest on her hips to fit the image. Frankly, her trying to take authority over the male was humorous, and cute at times since she was shorter than him.

Auris had glanced at the others in the establishment his eyes landing on the female that seemed rather unsteady on her feet. The shark was sure he had seen her somewhere before. Of course, Auris had traveled around alot when he had first left his kingdom. He had graced other cities and kingdoms with his presance in search of a bride and an alliance to strengthen his kingdom with. He was certain he had seen this girl in one of those other cities. Maybe. He was pulled from his thoughts as Aria spoke sternly to him. He blinked and looked at her, smiling innocently at her. "I think maybe you should be more concerned with the squid that somehow managed to get into the pool." He nodded in the direction of the pool with a slightly confused look. "Unless we acquired a pet that I know nothing about." He nibbled on the cupcake. So delicious. Better than the other cupcakes..but of course, it was, more effort had been put into this cupcake because it came from the batch for the princess' party.

When she was welcomed to the place called The Rabbit Hole, Lilah simply and quietly stated, "Thanks..." looking around at the people who were slowly beginning to gather in the tavern. Have I been here before? No, surely this woman would have recognized me... By this time her newly used legs were starting to feel sore. She looked towards the bar hoping she could make it that far. Attempting to answer the woman's question, she took a wobbly step towards the bar, "I think I may be los--" in her next step her human body gave out, legs feeling like rubber, she could no longer hold her new found weight, and she found herself on her hands and knees in the middle of the walk way.

For the most part, Auris had been watching the girl. Still trying to figure out why she looked so familiar. His eyes widening when she began to fall, he couldn't get to her fast enough to keep her from falling, but he did drop his half eaten cupcake and launch himself over the bar with one hand on it's surface for support. In moments the tall male was beside the girl. "Well now. If you wanted my attention, darling, you didn't have to be so dramatic." He grinned at her and picked her up. He held her princess style as he carried her over to a seat at the bar. Gently he slipped her onto the seat easily. "Better? Would you like a glass of water or a cupcake. I know where all the extremely delicious ones are hidden." He winked at her. Still trying to figure out where he had seen her before.

Aria let her eyes slowly closed, her right hand coming up to pinch the bridge of her nose. "I hope this isn't some distraction attempt..." She breathed out before turning back to the new guest. She smiled at the girl, starting to move towards her again before watching her collapes. "Ah! Are you okay?" She exclaimed as she kneeled down next to the other, though that didn't last long as Auris came and hlped the girl up and moved her to one of the seats at the bar counter. "Just go get her a drink Auris, and don't hit on her already. You might scare her off." She said as she fussed lightly over the girl to make sure she wasn't hurt, then reached around her to smack the male upside the head. "And stay the hell away from the princess's cupcakes. The cream filled ganache ones are just fine. I did put a lot of work into those too." She grumbled lightly, her glare contradicted by the slight smile.

"I wasn't flirting, I was helping." He smiled at Aria. Wondering how anyone could ever get scared off by his charming looks. With a slight shake of his head he started to say something else when Aria smacked him. He mock pouted. "Okay okay." The shark turned and quickly disappeared into the kitchen, coming back moments later with a glass of water and one of the cream filled ganache cupcakes on a small plate. Both he sat on the bar infront of the girl. He glanced at Aria as he bent down to clean up his own cup cake he had dropped. "The princess' doesn't need cupcakes, besides, the only reason they taste better than the others is because they're off limits." He gave Aria a charming smile as he finished cleaning up the small mess he had made before leaning on the bar just a bit infront of the other female. "So...what'cha gonna do about the squid in the pool?" He flashed Aria a questioning look before his attention went to the girl. "What's your name, my dear?" Maybe if he could remember or she told him her name he'd be able to remember where he had seen her.

Grumbling under her breath Alice walked out of the shadows. She was late for work and she needed to clean up. There was blood all over her face and grey shirt. She had gotten into a fight with a lesser demon who tried to steal from her. In a blink of an eye she was in front of the Rabbit Hole. Throwing the doors open she walked in and went down the hall to her room. Alice didn't care if anyone saw the blood on her, if you knew her you would be use to it.

Entering her room she stripped down and grabbed fresh clothes. Now she was wearing a pair of dark skinny jeans paired with leather boots that came to her ankle. After putting on a strapless black bra on she put on a lacy black long sleeved shirt. It was tight and had a low back, in case she wanted her wings out. You could see a lot of skin but she again didn't care.

Walking into her bathroom she cleaned her face off and reapplied her make up. A lot of mascara and eyeliner were her thing, sometimes she would add eye shadow but not today. Going over to her tall black jewelry stand she put on her favorite rings. It had holes for her index, middle and ring fingers. It was black and silver and had small spikes all over it. Sticking it on her left hand she pulled her hair out of it's bun and let it fall down. Shaking her head her hair settled down. Alice had very long black hair, about to her mid back and it was super wavy.

Ready for work she took a step forward and was suddenly behind the bar. Super speed was a wonderful thing to have. Picking up a clean rag she began cleaning glasses, waiting for someone to ask for a drink.

The mermaid watched him carefully, arms crossed under her chest, though smiled as he cleaned up his mess. "Good boy." She told him, though blinked when he brought up the squid again. "Wait...You're seriously not making that up?" She asked, glancing hesitantly at the glass doors that lead to the pool that tended to double as the aquatic entrance, spotting one of the tentacles out of the water waving. "Blast it all! Why didn't you say something earlier?" She shouted, forgetting he had actually as she ran into the pool room. Kneeling at the edge she seemed to just stare at it, but really she was telepathically communicating with it. After a few minutes she smiled and nodded, waving as the squid left while she walked back into the main area. "Oh hey Ali, how has your morning been?" She asked when she noticed the harpy behind the bar counter.

Before she knew it she was being lifted off the floor and carried to a seat at the bar. Blushing at the comment about trying to get his attention, "I'm sorry, I feel like I'm learning to walk today, I don't know what's wrong with me." Replying to the woman who had welcomed her, "I'm ok, I think..." She didn't know how she was supposed to feel, so she didn't know if the way she was feeling now was the right or wrong way to be feeling... When the one called Auris placed a glass of water and cupcake in front of her she stared at it for a moment. I suppose, I should get something in me... The doors flung open and Lilah jumped, turning to look at what had caused the commotion. A woman covered in blood strolled in and quickly dissapeared up the stairs. Her eyes were wide as she watched the woman dissapear, she turned back when the one called Auris asked her name. She blinked up at him owlishly before looking back down nervously, "I don't know. I woke up on the beach, I can't remember anything..." she said quietly, still looking down playing with the icing on the cupcake.

All the commotion made Stella scamper off away from everyone. She went to settle herself down upon a stool where she would be clearly visible from every side of the Inn. When playing her harp, the young woman didn't care one bit that people were staring at her. Every movement made voluminous skirts rustle, until finally a soft music began to fill the inn. This time, Stella made sure it was calming and infused a little of her musical magic into it to strengthen the idea. Long pale hands flicked across the strings expertly as a joyous smile lit Stellara's face. She was lost in the notes and the dancing of her hands and did not hear anything around her for the time being.

Frost watched the commotion with a small smile upon his face, noting that the inn seemed to be filling with attractive people. Though he really wasn't looking for anything in that aspect of his life at the moment. Yawning, the dark haired man stood and went to contemplate drinks at the bar. The blood upon the bartender was noted, and the information tucked away for a later date. Leaning his elbows against the pitted wood counter, the young man flashed a crooked grin at the bartender. "I need something to wake me up, have any suggestions?" Settling down on a stool, Frost was rather amused by the sight of a squid scampering away.

Looking over at Aria, Alice flashed her a tiny smile. Her boss was pretty much the only person she mostly trusted and let her call her Ali. "Was a little sour for a moment but now it's fine," Alice said in a husky, thick British accent. Out of the corner of her eye she watched a newcomer walk over to the bar. Turning her attention to him she thought about what drinks he might like. "Something to wake you up eh? Let's see.." Alice trailed off and turned around. After a second of consideration she picked up a large black bottle. Turning back around she grabbed a short glass, added two ice cubes then poured the liquor in. Putting the bottle back she slid his drink to him. Alice had perfected her bar tending skills from a lot of experience. Putting her elbows on the bar she leaned forward so her chin rested in the palms of her hands. She sat there watching him. The stuff she gave him was definitely going to wake him up, and burn his throat a bit but it tasted delicious and did it's job.

Turning to the dark haired woman once more, he inclined his head and grabbed the drink. Putting the glass to his lips, Tobias took a cautious sip then downed a huge gulp. A burning sensation swelled trough his throat to then fall away, leaving a welcome wakefulness in it's path. Then there was the tangy bitter taste which remained even after the liquid was long gone. Frost shook his head a little and tapped the fingers of his right hand against the counter with a smile. "That did the job, now what do I owe you?" Taking another swallow of the drink the young man tilted his head back to reveal an old scar upon the side of his throat.

Raising her eyebrows up Alice watched him down a big gulp. She was impressed that someone could drink that much of it at a time. Standing up she shook her head at him. "Anyone that can drink fire whiskey like that get's the first drink free." She had noticed his scar but chose not to comment on it. Some people hated when you asked about something so personal. "Can I get you anything else mate?" Picking up a rag she wiped down the counter.

Aria smiled back at Alice as she watched her handle the new customer, pulling the rag she had slipped through a belt loop out and was wipping her hands as she moved behind the bar. She giggled watching as the harpy allowed the freebie. Frankly she would have done the same, she couldn't stand the stuff herself really. Lowering down she looked through her display case, her focus more to the stuff she felt could sit overnight, but now it seems she'd made a bad choice since they were now kind of crusty and not so appetizing to her. She was such a finicky baker, and she pulled out the trays of items, mostly the cookies and bars of different desserts. "Oh Ali incase you didn't know, the cupcakes on the open air display next to the register, you can have one." She nodded her head to the marbled cupcakes she'd experimented with last night with strawberry flavored batter with french vanilla batter and a chocolate mousse icing on top. "Maybe the gentleman would like one. You too sweetie. Its a new creation, inspired by the neopolitan ice cream." She explained in case they were curious, the one she called sweetie being the amnesiac female, before taking the trays in her hands to the kitchen to be sorted incase she could use them in another way. More than likely she could reuse the cookies in a pie.

Lilah had been poking at her cupcake when the one who had welcomed her offered her a try of another. "No thank you" she said timidly, she wasn't hungry, in fact she was feeling rather sick. The more time that passed without her memory returning the more upset her stomach felt. She didn't want to be rude denying the cupcake, but she didn't want to be rude letting it waste in front of her either. She glanced over at the man who had sat near her at the bar, from her angle she could see a scar across his neck. She wondered what had caused it, but she wouldn't ask, it was none of her business anyway. She sighed. No one here seemed to recognize her so far. What would she do now? Maybe she needed to take a more direct approach... "Have any of you seen me here before?" she asked quietly, but louder than she had been.

Ruuya ran through the tunnels she'd somehow entered, panting heavily. All she did for the past few days was run away from whatever place she had woken up in. Her first memory was waking up in a room filled with wires and computers; it was hardly a fond memory. At that time, Ruuya didn't even know her name, that is, until she hacked the building's mainframe. After that, the only thing to do was run. And somehow, she now ran into an inn and tavern. "The Rabbit Hole? Interesting. And a good place to stay," she mumbled to herself. "Maybe they need a singer..." Cautiously, Ruuya opened the door to The Rabbit Hole and peeked her head in. It was lovely inside, but she felt like she was intruding. Loud enough for someone else to hear, but still very quietly, she asked, "H-Have I come at a bad t-time?"

Quirking an eyebrow up Alice glanced over at the cupcakes in question. In a flash she went over and grabbed one then was back behind the bar. Taking a bite she nodded. "They're really good Aria. I like this combo." Sweet's were her one weakness, she was a freak about them. One of the reasons she liked Aria so much was because of her cupcakes. Looking at the stranger she shook her head. "No I can't say I have though you do look a tid familiar. Maybe I've seen you in passing eh? Not sure though dove." Hearing someone Alice looked up at another new person. "Never a bad time to come in here. Would you like something to drink?" Her British accent was thick so she tried to speak clearly. Occasionally Alice could be very nice and she was choosing to be at the moment.

Auris lingered there by the amnesiac girl for a few moments. "You seem very familiar to me, but I can't quite place where I might have met you..." His eyes shifted to Aria, watching her as she removed some trays and began to make her way into the kitchen. The others that had entered, the shark practically ignored. Of course, he was more curious as to what the squid had told Aria. He flashed everyone in the room a rather dashing smile before he turned and padded off on barefeet to the kitchen.

"So...why was there a squid in my delicious pool?" Of course, he hadn't hesitated to use the squid as a slight distraction method, still he hadn't been the one to put it in there. If a shark had been in it, then maybe he might could have possibly been responsible for something like that. Not the squid though. Auris had moved around the kitchen, standing in a spot, effectively hiding the trays that held the princess' cupcakes. One tray, was missing about three of the cupcakes and Auris wasn't really ready for Aria to find that out yet.

Aria smiled when she heard the compliment from the harpy as she walked into the kitchen. Ruby eyes glancing up to see Auris enter the kitchen behind her, she grinned lightly, busying herself with smashing cookies in baggies for use later. "Huh? Oh yeah...Just a message from the princess about how she's looking forwards to my special creation just for her. And its not just your pool." She commented, though a suspicious glint took to her eyes when she noticed him standing in front of the trays of cupcakes for the princess. "You ate more than one didn't you?" She asked, again with being cutely stern. Not that she ever tried to be cute when stern, but she was rather short, not her problem. Then she sighed and leaned over the counter top to rest her elbows on the granite top as she hid her face behind her hands. "Always. Always. I'm just glad I hid the rest. Now if you wanted me to make you a special batch you should tell me. You know I'd make what ever you wanted." She said, faint frustration lacing her tone, her hands having moved away from her face so it didn't come out muffled.
