Lol. I use photoshop, illustrator, indesign, milkshape and ms paint. I haven't used flash much. I've never used corel painter and some of the other software that I'll be learning to use yet. Actually the prices on some of that stuff scares me.

@Bani: You need to check it out. :) It's fun. *laughs* I'm going to work on my entry for that story contest again...

@Kat: Psychology's just the study of behaviors. Why people do what they do, everything from environmental influences to hormones and whatnot.
I didn't realize philosophy was interesting till my senior year. Took medical philosophy and loved it.
I spend more time doing art on the computer than by hand anymore. Art supplies are just too expensive. Though...I do love using them more. *_*

@blueblackrose: What kind of programs do you have to learn?
edit: Just saw you post them. xD What is Milkshape? O_o Never heard of that one!

I own loads of art supplies. I had to buy a lot for all my art classes, so I keep the stuff with me all the time. I get stuff as gifts and when people don't want their's anymore.

yeah, computers kick my butt!!! I suck at everything computer based. I use Word. ^^

@ Tori: Tons of programs. I have to learn to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe After Effects, Corel Painter, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Flash, Unreal Tournament 3, and FlipBook Pro. There are probably some other programs as well.

Milkshape is a free 3D modeling program.

@Kat: Back when I was at UT, I used to buy myself a marker every time I passed an exam or finished a big paper. *has a lovely bunch of them* x3

So are you learning everything? Watercolors to oils, clay and so on and so on?

@blueblackrose: Oh wow...that's a lot. o_o I haven't even heard of a slew of them!

@ Tori: Yes, it is a lot.

Plus some of these programs costs over $1000. For example 3DS Max is a $3500 program and Maya is a $7000 program. Thank God that the school store has awesome discounts for students on this stuff.

my art class is boring now, we just started to do non-techinical stuff and we're using charcoal on grey paper. Its just an intro to drawing class that I have to take before anything else. At least I love charcoal with a passion!!!

I would die...many times over, in a class like that Blackrose!!!

@ Kat: Yeah intro classes can be really dull.

Lol, so would I if the school store didn't have the software 85% off regular retail price. Actually...if they didn't I'd probably just quit or find something else to major in.

@blueblackrose: o____o S-seven thousand...dollars for a program?! And here I thought almost a thousand was expensive!

@Kat: That was one of the reasons why I didn't want to get into art...I don't like being told what to draw, how to draw it, stuff like that. >_> Maybe my art classes back in junior high and high school weren't so great and college is different, but I just didn't want to go through with that again. I'm stubborn. *just wants to do her own thing* :3

I love the effects charcoal can have, but I wasn't very good at it. I definitely preferred pastels. xD

Oh man, charcoal is so messy! I'm still trying to figure it out in my drawing class.

that program reminds me of doing colorguard. that was multi thousand for a year and I did it for 4. thankfully I have parents to pay for this stuff.

my classes are amazing and I got no teacher telling me what to do half-way though jr high. course, I got into high school level art classes in jr. high. In high school, our teacher left us completly alone and gave broad prompts for projects. its more specific in college, but I think its just the technicalities of the intro class.

@Sarasvati: *hugs* Once you figure out the magical secrets, you need to share it with me. :3

@Kat: o_o You had to...pay...to be in colorguard? *thought you just joined it* D:

I would have definitely preferred classes like that...Just tell me something broad to do and leave me to my own devices. xD At least they provided us with art supplies in junior and high school. 8D

oh, hi Sarvasti! did see you sorry!

we had to buy uniforms and pay to get into shows and travel all over the place. more expensive than marching band! we had to buy most our equipment at least in part and we didn't even get to keep it all. sabres can be 100 dollars each.

yeah, stuff was provided sorta for my college class too. we had a specific kit we had to buy, same as my high school courses.

Tori: *hugs back |3* If I do, I might get black lung first. D8 I prefer working with the thinner vine charcoal, though, I seem to get a nicer line with it (although it's more expensive, I think? xD)

Hi Kat! :> Hope you're doing o.k. this evening!

@Kat: I was lucky then...didn't have to buy anything for my art classes...My art teacher was nice enough to give me some extra stuff to use for my projects rather than borrowing constantly and having to turn them back in.

@Sarasvati: I...I don't even know what vine charcoal is. O_O *goes to google*

I'm doing fine tonight. you?

@tori: we got really nice supplies and had to pay some to keep it all. Our teacher had some stuff, but its so nice to have that awsome stuff!!

I tend to just look at websites with baby name lists to find names for my character. xD Whichever really sounds good for what I feel like creating at the moment...

I know that Echo!! lol. Because God is the God of Jacob, the God of Josuah, the God of David. I don't know if it really goes that way but whatever...

I'll do that Tori. I wish I could come up with names on my own like I used to.
