(I'm not the head of the rp but right now in the story, we havn't gotten our partners yet. We're still at the beginning assembly. Speech has been given type of thing, so i think it'd be okay if you just posted a beginning post about listening and being there? Not trying to overstep my bounds but that's what the rest of us have been doing)

Livianna listened and when the Professor left she looked at the girl next to her. "He's probably just concentrating on his speech." She said softly trying to reassure her softly. Looking around a little as she listened and then looked over as a question was asked. She raised an eyebrow but listened closely. She thought this was a great question to ask. Blinking lightly as she waited for an answer she pushed her hair over her shoulder and rubbed her neck lightly. Looking across the crowd to see who else had a question but it seemed that the respect was to lower your hand till the other questions were answered.

Braig cleared his throat before saying, "Well, as mentioned, you need non-lethal combat training, but you also need to be able to understand the people you'd be interacting with. Either you, or your partner must be able to communicate with the natives to avoid language barriers. Some of you students from more financially gifted families may be able to afford the ear/microphone translator to take care of that issue, but unfortunately we can't provide you one due to the price issue. I also suggest that you don't dress in a manner that is too out of place for your time. Can you think of anything I haven't covered Professor Marlo?"

Somila nodded and sat back down when her question was answered. That would make sense. She smiled at the thought of being able to choose where she gets to go. She wondered when that would be. She could already do the fighting he talked about, so that shouldn't be a problem. Then scowled at the idea that she would have to deal with partner who also wanted to choose. That was frustrating. She mumbled under her breath, "Gawd, what if I get a guy? That'll make it harder." She sighs.

Kiya ran as fast as her lungs could breathe down the prestigious, elegantly adorned halls of the Academy, screaming insults in her biggest mind voice every time the second hand of her wrist watch moved up a notch. You could say it was ironic that on the first day of a time travel school, she would not be one to master her punctuality and was the last to be on time.

Time. If only she could turn back time, right now... she could feel a belligerent eagerness nip at the back of her mind, a sudden longing to actually try out what she could do just now, if she had the right state of mind and the right equipment.

Right, she reminded herself, no traveling back to your time period. It creates unnecessary circumstances. She had remembered the manual word by word, tracing her fingers along the wrinkled pages in the dimming light of the sun every summer, repeating the rules like a mantra...

Stupid, you should have been prepared!
Finally making it to the main auditorium, she thrust the doors open and realized a second too late that trying NOT to be so noticed was exactly what she was supposed to be doing. There, hundreds of students sat and above, a woman talked about the rules of the academy.

Well, Kiya, she thought, this is it. Take a seat, and begin. Late, of course.

Somila turned her eyes to the girl that just walked into the auditorium, late. She smiles a little, hopefully trying to encourage the girl if she looks her way. Though, she's not so sure she was convincing. Once that distraction was over, she returned her attention to the teachers, waiting to see what happens next.

Braig nodded in the direction Kiya to let her know he wasn't going to yell at her or anything before looking around asking, "Any other questions?"

(I am back. DX Sorry , my computer was acting funny. Just got it fixed. wasn't letting me on Mene....what's I miss o.o)

Ashila nods as she waits for things to get sorted. She knew all this somewhat and she was only half paying attention. Her eyes went back to the program sitting on her computer, which was sitting inside of her bag. She muttered something under her breath about getting a new one before taking it out again. Her eyes scan over the desktop deftly. Her eyes twitched over to the site of Kiya as she walked in. It was no bother to her but she glanced curiously at the girl before turning back to her computer.

Livianna thought for a second not looking up when someone entered late but rose her hand quietly and hesitantly. Once called on she rose and tilted her head to the side as she spoke loud enough to be heard. "All Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors have to have an escort when time traveling correct? Then do we get an assigned escort or do we get to choose them? Or do we fill out profiles like an online dating sight to see which escort would be best to travel with us?" She said raising an eyebrow. Of course the last question was meant to make the students laugh as a grin crossed her face. "Just one more question as well. If our partner gets injured or refuses to work with you do we get a new one or are we stuck with them?" She asked her head returning to center and her hands behind her back

Energy was draining out of Kiya rather fast - mostly due to, you know, running - and eventually Kiya, exhausted, plopped herself down on the nearest seat that seemed open, in the back.

Soon, however, she noticed a few reassuring glances from other soon-to-be students, and she felt a bit of warmth rise up in the bottom of her stomach and spread through to her chest and fingertips. So, there were some nicer kids here. That's a relief, she thought, and could feel some invisible weight lifted off of her. She realized that she missed part of the introduction, yes, but hopefully she could hang around some of the students that had recorded everything.

"...Or do we just fill out profiles like an online dating site...?" she heard a girl question a little ways up ahead of her.

Oh. Right. Partners.

Who did she have? Anxiety set in.
Kiya felt her chest heave once more, and wondered how many of these ever changing emotions she could take in one day.

Airn snuffed out the cig that he had been smoking, indoors again, under his boot and his deeper voice spoke out after Livianna's question. Of course, he wasn't a teacher but he did answered anyway as he walked from behind the bleachers. "Did you really think we'd get a bloody choice in who we get to travel with, girly? They choose for us. And even if you don't get along, usually your stuck with them, barring any unforseen, really odd circumstance. Get used to getting told what to do." He plopped down on the empty edge of the bottom seat and leaned back, elbows on the seat a little higher up. He glared up at the teachers podium, daring them to do something about it.
He was always like this. He didn't break rules...major ones anyway, and he was good at what he does so they sometimes dismiss the little things he does...like glaring at his superiors.

Livianna grinned. "Well I suppose that answered my question more or less than. Though I had hoped for a teacher a pain in the ass like you answering my question gets it over with. Thank you." She said her tone polite although she was insulting him and her thanks authentic and not sarcastic in the slightest. She sat back down with a slight smirk on her face; this guy didn't bother her one bit. It didn't put a funk in her spunk so to speak. Shifting in her chair so she could see a little better beyond the ever so eager to speak male. She looked at his dark hair and olive colored skin tone. He was decent looking to say the least.

Sylvia stared at Livianna and whispered, "Are you crazy? Don't you know who that is? That's Airn, the school punk, no one messes with him cuz he's so scary and tough. In fact, the only person who's ever put him in his place was Braig. Way baclk when Airn first came, he wasn't as bad as he is now, but still bad. He was picking on some kid when Braig told him to stop. Airn tried to take on Braig but Braig kicked his butt because nobody could defeat my Braig! *lovestruck sigh* Anyway, since then, Airn has been challenging Braig time and time again, getting tougher and meaner and better at fighting, but of course Braig's kept on winning. Ooh, I bet Air's been getting all kinds of tougher in the two years without his rival though while Braig was in college. Hmm... well, Braig is still the best fighter EVER!"

Braig gave a slight smirk, the first time his stony face has shown emotion so far as Airn made his outburst. After he sat down Braig walked up saying, "Hey there Mr. Baske. Tell me, what was a student doing back there of all places? Only teachers, such as myself should be back there during this assembly."

Livianna raised an eyebrow and shook her head. "I don't give a rats quiet frankly. I know who he is, and he's annoying. Kinda cute though." She shrugged and then grinned. "Besides I'm not worried about it too much. I can handle myself, a cup of coffee and no one can keep up." She said with a nod. "Boy you should write Braig's biography he'd sound like a god." She said with a shake of her head laughing some. Her eyes watched Braig and Airn with interest would such a fight break out now. That would be so cool and if Airn got his ass kicked she'd probably be in a mess. He'd need to boost his ego and well after her comment she'd probably be a target. Truthfully Liv wasn't sure how the bullying thing worked. She was never a bully and she never got bullied so it was sort of a curiosity of hers. Were there specific targets or just anyone and everyone. Her face looked thoughtful before she shrugged and yawned a little.

Smoothing out her dress of wrinkles and looking at Sylvia. "Here's a question. Why respect someone who chooses to make people's lives miserable? That's how we get numb skulls in the presidents office." She said knocking on her head.

Airn had a smirk on his face when the girl responded to his answer. Then he grinned up at Braig. "Well lookie at this. It's big boy Braig. Haven't seen you in, what, two years now?" He looked him up and down. "Wow, a teacher? That's a surprise. Didn't strike me as the teaching type. Tell me, did you beat people in college to get by like you did here?" He raises his eyebrows with the pending questions. He completely ignored Braigs question, assuming the smell of cigaettes around him should be answer enough.

Slipping out a notebook, Kiya began to write down what she needed to know: classes, schedules, rooms, dorms (do dorms even exist in an academy like this?), and, once the lecture had led on into ramblings of the academy's various achievements, Kiya began to drift into a sort of daydreaming state, imagining who she could possibly be partnered with. Hopefully someone with a little more experience - yes, definetely someone with a little bit of experience. Better someone horrendously snobby than someone who'll probably leave you stuck between the timelines.

Kiya smiled, quickly jerking her head over her shoulder in the hope that no one was glaring at her to evilly, and slid the finished product back into her rucksack that held all she could stuff as she burst out the door this morning. Hopefully her parents could send her a little more, if that was even possible. She'd ask a student, soon enough.

Speaking of students, her eyes glanced from side to side as Kiya took in the social landscape that was soon to be her classmates. Nervous ones, such as herself, but also others that seemed as if they could care less, as if they knew this lesson like it was burned into their skin. Still others shifted in between these two groups, whispering excitedly, yet keeping their head, making friends faster than Kiya could ever hope.

Ashila and Arnold got the Renaissance (in Italy)

Somilia and Hunter got Medieval Europe

Sylvia and Livianna got Feudal Japan

Kiya and Airn got America in the 80's

((If your character is dissatisfied with their assignment they can ask for a change. Right now you're mostly getting a feel for time travel and blending into different times. However, things may come up while you're in your different times. Sorry Graxdon, I think I'm going to send them all off for a bit and have them come back later. Then there will be another class period, most likely, unless you would prefer they spend time on a mission out there instead. Or they might return later.))

As soon as Mrs. Marlo called out that Sylvia and Livianna were partners, Sylvia's eyes lit up as she gave Livianna, shouting out, "SQUEEEEE! I GET TO BE PARTNERS WITH MY BESTEST NEWEST BEST BUDDY! We are gonna have so much fun!"
Braig, ignoring Sylvia's outburst, had simply glared at Airn the whole time and, once he was called, took the assignment form and walked over to where Airn sat saying, "Don't bother waiting for him to get it himself Mrs. Marlo, Airn has an issue with authority." He walked over and dropped the form in Airn's lap, whispering to him, "The only people I beat at college were low-life punks like you. I'm going to enjoy having you for combat class."

Airn snorted,. "I ain't a baby to be coddled anymore, Porter. And just because I have a problem with your authority doesn't mean I can't grab my things myself." He smirked. "This is going to be a fun year. I got a time zone where I can be all the punk that I want." He stood up and brushed past Braig, saying quietly, "I'm not the weak fighter I used to be. See you in combat class." After that, he continued his walk in front of the bleachers. He said rather loudly, "So who's Kiya?"

Somila bounced over and grabbed her assignment form and looked at it. She wondered what Hunter looked like or if he was nice. She really wouldn't have liked someone like that punk kid who interrupted the assembly. Although, she hadn't wanted a guy to be her partner to begin with. They always tended to make things complicated. She looked around as she stood a little awkwardly among the moving students, not really sure how to find her partner, to at least meet the guy. She mumbled to herself, "At the very least, he could be cute."

Livianna's eyes got bright and she blinked as her partner exploded before joining her. "Yay! This is going to rock!" She agreed. "Lets get our things then?" She suggested getting up and pulling Sylvia over picking up her assignment "Feudal Japan" She sighed that assignment would definitely render her work on her Jack the Ripper project. None the less it was worth it she did enjoy the beauty of Japan in past and present. "Thank you." She said politely holding back a laugh as she over heard Braig and Airn. It was funny hearing the exchange. She watched other people come up to get their assignment and smiled. Things were going to smooth out now she figured.

Heading out of the auditorium she headed towards the dorms. She had to get her stuff cleaned up it currently looked like a shock wave had sent all her clothes flying. Walking down the hall way she bounced lightly excited already. Her new partner looked to be as hyper and crazy as herself. "This is going to be the best year yet. Unless..." She frowned at possibilities of accidentally injuring someone, especially her new partner. "No its going to be a good year." She told herself as she passed Airn in the hall. As soon as her room was ready for her friend they'd have much to talk about.

Sylvia tapped her lip in thought as she watched Livianna head off for her dorm thinking, "Where's she going? OOH! Hee hee, I'll be te sneaky ninja and follow her." She giggled mischeviously before taking after Livianna, actually displaying enough stealth to remain unnoticed as she followed Livianna to her room. On the way, she noticed a man dressed in what looked like a military uniform and gas mask, except it was all black, but he turned a corner before she got a better look, though it looked like he was putting a phone in his pocket. She shrugged and kept following Livianna. Once she got into her room, Sylvia jumped on her from behind yelling, "ATTACK HUG!"

Back in the auditorium, Braig's eye twitched in annoyance at Airn's comment which got him even more annoyed. The only people who got him to lower his emotional mask were Sylvia, resulting in him showing his fun side, and Airn, resulting in him showing his vicious side. He was about to say something to Airn when his phone vibrated, indicating a text. He pulled it out and glanced at the phone before turning to Marlo saying, "If you'll please excuse me Mrs. Marlo, there's something I need to take care of in my office, I'll only be a few minutes." He didn't wait for a response before walking out of the auditorium.
