whats your favorite miyazaki or studio ghibli movie? i think my fav would have to be my neighbor totoro. i havnt yet seen his last movie but i will soon :P i live in japan so when the movie came out all the builders at the snow festivals had made snow sculptures based off of all of miyazakis movies! i loved it!!

That sounds fabulous! I love how Japan has embraced Totoro =3 He's a big favourite of mine, though I'm a very recent convert, I only watched Totoro for the first time a year or so ago. I totally loved it though, and have bought Totoro things since. I've also watched Spirited Away and Howl'smoving castle, butthose are the only films that I've seen so far.

I am a huge fan of his work. I have seen every single one of his films, including the last one he made. The Wind Rises was definitely, in my opinion, one of his best works of art. It moved me to tears :)

Totoro was definitely amazing... only reason I've even seen it is thanks to jelly :D

I could say I love every works by Hayao Miyazaki. But my two favourites would be Only Yesterday and Spirited Away.

Why Only Yesterday? I used to watch the movie whenever I'm sad with things happening around, watching it makes the sadness goes away, I don't know why. Spirited Away, well, I love everything related to youkai and spirits.

So... I can actually comment more on these... I watched a good number recently.

Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986)

I really liked this one. The story was very hard to predict.

Grave of the Fireflies (1988)

I had trouble getting into this one... I'm not sure why. I guess after watching a decent amount I still didn't know what it was about.

Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)

I couldn't get into this one, but I hope someday to watch it and see what it's about.

Princess Mononoke (1997)

I haven't seen this in years, but I remember it being amazing.

Spirited Away (2001)

Very good, but I got confused very often.

The Cat Returns (2002)

Lots of cats!

Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)

This was just as good as rumors said. I was very happy with the story.

Tales from Earthsea (2006)

A strange story, but very interesting.

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (2008)

I loved this one, it was adorable.

The Borrower Arrietty (2010)

One of my favorites for sure.

This was good, had a little bit of this and that, and felt more believable.

That's about all I've seen (Plus totoro). I haven't a clue what to watch next =/
