Yep! That's kind of what inspired the thread... we were all posting food pics while cheering on team Feast during the event! So now we have a place to randomly share foodstuffs whenever!

This one actually wasn't in class, it was at home as practice for my final.
Chicken breast Chardonnay with risotto.

I'd eat that.

It was delicious.
The sauce should have been thicker, though. I bought the wrong kind of cream so it didn't thicken up the way it should have.

During grilling week I made some tortillas and we made grilled flank steak fajitas with grilled veggie skewers

The hand made tortillas were amazing, too!
I was extra proud of myself! Haha

It's not that hard! Just get a recipe and follow it and you're golden!
I'm still not fantastic about just throwing things together, which is why I'm a pastry chef and not a chef-chef. But I can officially cook now!
The grilling was the most spontaneous thing that we did, because I just threw the rub together with a bunch of stuff I thought sounded good and went with it.

I just don't have the time for it, we're not exactly eating healthy right now without any proper income, so it's not like I'll get any chance to learn to cook anything.

Wren ended up not having time to make brownies this weekend. :(

Omg that fajita looks like it's to die for.

And I've never had risotto - but I know the television chefs always go on tirades about it - especially that craazy british guy... gordon Ramsey.. I think.

Risotto is kind of like rice. It's so good.

Thanks! It was awesome! Well, the meat was. The spice rub was really successful and kind of spicy. I didn't actually eat the fajita since I put grilled peppers in it for color and texture and sadly I don't eat those. But my classmate that I gave it to loved it! We traded. haha.

And risotto is amazing! It's just a short grained rice that's cooked in a lot of stock. It's really not too difficult to make, but I've seen chefs go crazy over it being wrong on television as well! I watch a lot of Top Chef and risotto screws a lot of people over. The trick is to not brown the rice and to make sure you add the liquid in batches, and don't add more until all of the previous liquid has been absorbed!

OH OH OH! You guys! A friend and I are getting together and making pies on Sunday! I still haven't decided what kind I want to make, but I'm excited!
