Howdy's "Oh Look, A Crown!" Riddle Contest! ;B

Greeting friends, and welcome once again to another of my contests threads. This time i'm holding this to celebrate me getting a King's Crown! :O Hope against hope, I wished for a King's Crown. And by the grace of mama juru and the glory of the quest raffle, I won! :boogie:

I hope to begin this at 3PM PST today (Dec. 1).

Last time I held a mystery contest when I bought my Oriental Fan. This time 'round i'll be holding something similar... a riddle contest! Shock and awe! But like previously, I ain't got the book learnin' to make such things up, so i've copied them from different sources.

How to Play:
I am hoping for at least 3 players.

I will present a riddle. The first person to guess the answer correctly will receive 1 point. You may guess as many times as you like, BUT one guess per post and you MUST wait for someone else to guess before you post again. This is to avoid double posting.

There will be ten riddles. I have extra in the event of a tie. At the end, whoever has the most points will receive 500g. Second place will get 300g. And third place will get 200g.

Remember, this is all in fun. I can't stop you from hunting the internet for answers, but please try your hardest to figure out the answers on your own.

RIDDLE #1

Spectators had gathered to see the maiden voyage of a ship. It was a clear sunny day and all were excited. Suddenly the ship began to sink. The ship was structurally intact and had nothing wrong with it, yet it sank while everyone watched. What caused it to sink?

-It's a submarine
