Kim K-burger

Yesterday I read in our local newspaper (yeah :s) that the well-know and well-respected (cough) American rapper 50 cent was thrown of that supposedly well-known medium, going by the name of Twitter.

What did he do?
Certainly he must have offended someone?

Well he gaily twittered "Yall like my Kim K burger?", and posted a link to the offending photograph, which rapidly resulted in Twitpic expulsion. Kim K is, of course, a reference to Kim Kardashian, who has always been critiqued upon her well-formed behind by other journalists.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has not responded well to the censorship, remarks the Telegraph.

I have to say, I don't feel this photo to be offending to woman, however I can see why posted it resulted in a banning from Twitter.

I liked your article, Hime, it was short and to-the-point. It really gave the base facts without saying anything unimportant. I don't personally think the photograph is offensive, but Kim K. might have. xD I still don't think 50 Cent should've been banned from twitpic, tho.

lol, yeah, I wouldn't know how she feels about that. But I do believe she has encountered far worse and misplaced jokes about her figure. It's a bit expected too, she's famous for publishing a sex-tape after all :/

The war on meat.

"Meat is murder", is what animal rights organization PETA says during their several demonstrations. The "Drop Dead (Meat)" demonstration in NY, as well as the demonstration in Canada a couple days back. In that last demonstration on August 17, they encouraged people to get a vegan lifestyle.

Well, I live in Belgium so I don't know everything there's to know about this organization. But I think that we can agree on this: this organization likes to shock. It gives them some attention alright, but that doesn't mean it also brings an awareness to the people they are aiming to reach.

Setting all differences about eating meat "yay or nay" aside for a moment; The way to change a persons living style is by convincing that their current life style is so bad, and play with the persons morals. In other words, make him feel guilty. In this case, for eating meat.

Comparing meat to murder, is one thing; however t he audacity to compare the HUMAN VICTIMS of the Holocaust to the animal victims (Holocaust on your Plate Campaign) is disgusting and in my opinion, unethical.


Even though I'm not a vegetarian, I believe there are other ways to engage the war on meat.

Personally, I don't like PETA... They are a bit extremist and ... stupid.
I remember a time when they compared eating fish to eating kittens... wait, what?

Bed Intruder Song hit on the internet

The you-tube hit "Bed intruder song" has managed to reach the American hit parade. The video-clip is made - read carefully - of the existing news footage about a rapist.

It's a so-called "Auto-tune the news"-song from The Gregory Brothers. This is a real new hype, where an existing news-item gets sampled into a real song.
This particular song is made from the footage of a local news-item, where the brother of the female victim rants against the camera, threatening the perpetrator.

According to iTunes, the brother gets a portion of the profit made of this song. However, what the victim thinks of the fact that she was used for this song, is unknown.

Anyway, I can imagine how paranoid the rapist must be now.
