i just can't get over the background. the black pages look like a mountain silhouette, while the gradient black background and the gold dust there makes it look like an aurora borealis. i said it before, but it really does!

hahaha well for my particular tumblr it's a combo of kpop, doctor who, and star wars: tea stuff.

I've had some star wars on my dash but it's all been generic stuff as far as I can tell. I'd much prefer something tea themed.

i'm pretty deep into the fandom corner of tumblr, so that's the majority of what i see almost all the time. i have maybe one or two aesthetic bloggers i follow

Mine's a jumble, but people always seem to have something they're into, which makes it on to their blogs as they get into it. A lot of the ones I follow seem to go for "geeky" stuff.

i would see that making sense. i imagine the majority of tumblr is fandom stuff these days.

Really? I feel like maybe they are not as noticeable as they once were (probably because of that division), but that they are more subtly ubiquitous. Maybe it's just been a shift in the population of my dash. But it seems like the Sherlock fandom has calmed the frick down. Thank goodness. And superwholock, that's not really much a thing anymore, is it.

nah people have mostly moved on to other fandoms. like i was in the whole superwholock mess, but i've stopped watching supernatural and a lot of people have. and a ton of other people have stopped watching sherlock (though with a now growing hate group of benedict cumberbatch that i'm pretty sure were once sherlock fans). And a of course there's the Moffat-hater corner in the doctor who fandom who like building strawman and slippery slope arguments to prove why Moffat is the worse thing that ever happened to the show.

but what i meant by the fandom/hipster wars is like it's not directly at each other's throats anymore. we seem to be more willing to coexist now, rather than trying to chase each other off the website.

I'm all for co-existance. I bet you are right, that a lot of the haters were are least partially fans at some point. I know there is still a clot of die-hard fanatics on tumblr that believe there's a benedict cumberbatch conspiracy: that his marriage was a sham for the sake of his career and that the pregnancy that his wife went through was faked/that the child they subsequently had is a plant, that he's so unhappy with it all that it shows, etc. It's really disturbing. While not quite as convoluted, I do follow one person who is generally pretty cool, yet is convinced that Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction are secretly in love with each other. She blogs about it all the time, and there are have been posts indicating that that community knows their flight times and seating arrangements on flights. Like that level of prying into a strangers life, and shipping together two people who actually exist and have their own thoughts and feelings... it's not healthy, in my mind. Yeah, supernatural, it seems liek people aren't so into that, which seems to me like a good thing. Also creepy, some of what those fans were posting.

hahaha. to work up that level of hate. you have to have been in it at one point. it's how i felt about glee a couple months ago, though i've now chilled out and am learning to love the good parts again.

ugh. i hate that level of rpf shipping. and how crazy people get. but like i know how easy it is to fall into that, though i'd never pry that deep into any one person's life. but i do read rpf, but i'm always real careful to remind myself that the people in the fics i'm reading are 'characters that happen to closely resemble the real people' and not the real people themselves. i don't let my brain cross that fiction boundary.

hahaha. well people lost interest in supernatural cuz the show is flat out boring these days.

Btw, since I saw stuff about Benedict Cumberbatch in here, a Sherlock special will be showing tonight on PBS at 9 EST. O: I think I'll watch~

hiya, kent! i went to a hockey game and my team won they got three goals in less than three minutes and won 4-3. a great game to send out 2015. after that i stayed home, ate some food and snackies while watching firefly. love that show!
