It was the year 2017 when diggers deep on the floor of the Pacific Ocean discovered an odd gate made of an alien material. Within a year it was recovered and, by order of the UN, studied by several different scientists from a variety of nations. After six months, the scientists still knew nothing about it, the characters were a mix of multiple ancient languages but were put together in a grammatical structure that was impossible to decipher. As the world was on the verge of giving up, the gate came to life with a subtle violet glow as a vortex formed in its center. A portal had been opened that had been opened so long ago, and one that was not meant to be reopened ever again. The portal to hell was open once again...

That was 40 years ago, Earth now floats in space as a barren rock with barely an atmosphere to speak of and barely any intelligent inhabitants, save demons, that remain. There's hardly any place left on the surface of the planet that isn't desert, and the oceans, well, there's only a small portion of the Pacific Ocean left, and any drinkable water is found deep underground. Humanity is on the brink of destruction hanging on with every fiber left in their being as they continue to fight the war with hell that has slowly turned in to an extermination. To try and combat these demons, what little remained of the government created two super-soldiers whose objective is to find, and destroy this gate at whatever cost. So, will you cower in fear before the demon hordes, or will you stand and fight, and aid these soldiers in their journey?

Accepted Profiles:
Username: Dawning Reality
Name: Damien
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Outfit: Damien's attire is all black. Black pants that have several pockets. A black long sleeve shirt, the sleeves are kept rolled up due to the heat. Over the shirt he wears a tactical vest that has several pockets for magazines to his weapons and rings to clip grenades. His feet are covered by scuffed and worn combat boots, and his hands are covered with fingerless black gloves.
Appearance: Damien
Personality: Damien doesn't have much of a personality. Anything and everything that could have influenced him was militaristic, and mostly filled with violence. Meaning, all Damien knows is violence. Any situation arises that goes beyond what he knows, he'll immediately switch to an offensive mode and go on the attack. From birth, he was bred to be a killing machine, a human weapon, and in that area, he was a success. His interactions with people were limited to only doctors and military types. So, he knows nothing about slang, and answers everything with a "Yes, sir", "No, sir." response. Needless to say, he is quite dull, the perfect pinacle of military brilliance, and he's also a dangerous person to be around when angered, which is the only other emotion he truly knows anything about.

Inventory: Mk. 23 Mod 0, FN SCAR-H
Skills: Advanced Combat Training, Basic Maitenance Training, Basic Medical Training, and Advanced Weaponry Training
Bio: Once again, he doesn't have much of a past life. From the time he could remember, he was trained. Trained to fight with a weapon of any sort, and due to this, he can tell you anything and everything about a certain type of gun. He's also extremely skilled in hand-to-hand combat, he's able to strategize anything that will put him on top. There was only one point in his life when the daily procedures of training was broken, and that was when the genetic augmentations took place, at the age of fourteen. He thought after this he was done, but it wasn't to be. Due to the modifications, his body could withstand more punishment, so he was trained harder, longer, and faster then before.

Damien was created as a last ditch effort by an underground group of scientists. Their hope was that he, along with others like him, would be able to combat the demons and drive them back. However, only he and one other survived the process. They were sent out on missions, and came back with great results, however, they were followed on their last mission, and their base was attacked. Damien and his fellow modified human escaped, but barely. Now they wander around, providing aid wherever they can, hoping they'll discover some information on the whereabouts of the portal so that they can destroy it.
Goal: Damien's goal is to simply survive the day. Although his form of surviving extends to helping those who need it, even if it is with a gruff attitude.
Misc.:
Modifications:
Carbide Ceramic Ossification: Advanced material grafting onto skeletal structures to make bones virtually unbreakable. Recommended coverage not to exceed 3 percent total bone mass because of significant white blood cell necrosis. Specific risk for pre- and near-pubescent adolescents: skeletal growth spurts may cause irreparable bone pulverization.

Muscular Enhancement Injections: Protein complex is injected intramuscularly to increase tissue density and decrease lactase recovery time. Risk: 5 percent of test subjects experience a fatal cardiac volume increase.

Catalytic Thyroid Implant: Platinum pellet containing human growth hormone catalyst is implanted in the thyroid to boost growth of skeletal and muscle tissues. Risk: rare instances of elephantiasis.

Occipital Capillary Reversal: Submergence and boosted blood vessel flow beneath the rods and cones of subject's retina. Produces a marked visual perception increase. Risk: retinal rejection and detachment. Permanent blindness.

Superconducting Fibrification of Neural Dendrites: Alteration of bioelectrical nerve transduction to shielded electronic transduction. Three hundred percent increase in subject reflexes. Anecdotal evidence of marked increase in intelligence, memory, and creativity. Risk: significant instances of Parkinson's Disease and Fletcher's Syndrome.

Well from my understanding I think he said : "And another thing, when you think demon; it isn't wolf demon, cat-demon, fox demon, or anything like that. Think Imps and Hell Knights from Doom 3."
So I think that means no vampires, but I could be wrong.
