Sometimes. But usually I don't actually mess up the recipe. I just walk away from the stove or oven for too long and burning ensues

*chuckles* Yes, I can see how that would harm a dish.
I have always been quite careful about that. I use an egg timer to be sure that I do not burn anything, and I am always in the kitchen if something is being cooked. I would hate for the house to fill with smoke. Or worse, for it to burn down!

@Jeryck: Yea... I'm absentminded so even if I hear the egg timer, I'll forget xD
And I always manage to stench up the house when I make popcorn...
@Daria: Lol kay! If I get out the cookbook tomorrow, I'll PM it to you :)
Well, Passover ends the seventeenth so maybe you just wanna delay your cake a day otherwise!

Today I started lusting after some. If not for this funky cake my mom bought, I would have gone nuts. It's not a Sabbath for me without challah!!!

Oh Challah is like my favorite kind of bread...fattening..but i loves it... but during Passover I think we aren't allowed to eat it , right? We eat Matzah instead for the week... unleavened bread basically..:)
i miss the Jewish families i used to work with.. T_T

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! I will be 33 this year. Wheee. No great reduction in auto insurance or anything exciting. Other than that...not a very exciting b-day.

Happy birthday!
But yea, no leavened bread this week. So 'yummy' matzoh.
Although, I do like it some of the time. Burnt is the best :)

As soon as I'm out of the hospital and able to eat again, we are going to birthday dinner....with cake! You'll have a fun b-day yet, just a little belated.
When I was little I remember being jealous of my jewish neighbor/friend because I would always see his big family gathered around the table celebrating holidays together, and I come from a small family that's not really close. I was very lucky to me Daria who was kind enough to invite me to a holiday celebration at her house.....Mmmmm matzah ball soup, yummy!

Although I end up going 'augh I wanna kill them all' I love the holidays because I get to spend them with my family members.
@Thulhu: Thanks!

Yay! A jew freindly thread! I was wondering if you all could clear somehitng up for me. My dad is the Jewish one in my immediate family (it's all on his side) and we don't really go to chuch or temple. I go to church with my mom, mostly to humor her. But in the Jewish community am I concidered to be Jewish? Or if I converted, would it be called conversion, would I be a convert or a Jew returing to the fold?
Happy Passover everyone!

Agreed. XD; I'm not going to turn 29 in August and think of myself as "middle-aged". Middle-aged is in the late 40's at the earliest. D<

I'm not Jewish, but I'd always heard that you "are" what your mother is. But I'm sure Daria could give a more accurate response. XD

ahh... well i assumed 65 is the old...and half of 65 is like...32 years and change...so thats why i range the middle age range 27 - 38 or something like that... ^^; why is everyone upset about this? i even included myself in that category and im fine with it... its just a word... doesn't dictate how you feel you are... you know?
i didn't have any bad intentions... and i am technically older than CK by one month... ^^

"Middle-aged" may just be a phrase, but implies a certain amount of stodginess. There's just this impression of a spare tire, an out-dated hairstyle, sensible shoes, and a mind full of house-work and mortgages. XD I'm no where near those things.

That's what "cougar" means, yes. XD Though it also implies a tendency to prey on much younger men in a "use them and lose" them way. >_>
Not ready to be a "cougar" yet either. XD
