Hotaru hummed quietly to herself, her eyes closed. Her foot tapping in the fast beat, her head bouncing keeping in time.

First Step!

Purple eyes flew open. Streams of energy shot out and collided with one another. As they burst, Hotaru spun around, changing their motion towards her back. It picked up speed, leaving a trail of light as it twirled and looped around her.

The beat grew even faster as Hotaru continued her dance. Faster and faster, the energy spun. Hotaru began to glow, as it gather around her and grew.

Final Step!

Hotaru smiled, humming the last verse. The energy shot upwards, climbing higher and higher into the sky. Finally they climbed and reached as far as they could.

BOOM!

They collided together. The fragment pieces. Fell one by one, like glittery snow falling from the sky.

Hotaru smiled to herself. It was a beautiful sight. Just one more thing to look forward to every single day.

Death is Loveless

Hotaru stared at the dying body before her. The husband had been pleading with her for the last five minutes, begging her not to take away his only daughter.

Part of her heart twinge in regret and sorrow, but death was death. Regardless of who she was, she couldn't just alter the balance of life and death just because someone begged her. If she did that for everyone, then no one would die.

Each and everyone of them, always accused her for being loveless, for not understanding. Truth was she DID understand. Had she not wished to bring Airen back to life when he died or stop the clock so that he could live? It was cruel to say she was loveless. But life was life. Destiny was cruel in so many ways, but what most people don't understand was afterlife wasn't exactly that bad either.

Sure you lost them for a few decades, but eventually you all meet up again, then are reborn again. And endless cycle.

Death wasn't loveless.
It is just the start of a new beginning.

When one door closes

But sometimes one stares
At the closed door
Not noticing the open one

I open a book and picked up a pen, then proceed to stare at a the blank page for hours. So many thoughts racing through my head, I'm not sure where I want to begin.

Begin at the start of the problem seems to cliche, yet revealing everything at the once is too much information overload.

A nice sense of balance, yet a good bit of mystery is the key. To write this story, this idea with just the right amount of balance.

Back the original question at hand, where to begin?

The Art of Conversation

"Where are you going?"
"Bed. In about oh... nine hours someone will be here to chew off my head."
"Huh?"

Nine Hours later.

"WHAT THE HELL WHERE YOU THINKING?!"
"What is all this noise?"
"This is the person whom I said would be chewing my head out nine hours ago."
"Oh."

"Reading a book."
"So what's that screen on the page."
"..."
"Well?"
"*cough* None of your business"

Hotaru groan miserably as she looked at the clock. Why in star's name, was she up at this ungodly hour? It wasn't like she had anywhere she had to go.

She sat up and rubbed her forehead. There was this pounding headache. Hotaru ignored it for now. Why did she wake up? Usually nothing distrubs her sleep unless it was a direct threat to herself or someone she knew. Her first instint already checked her surrounding and everyone under her protection. She woke up too suddenly for it be normal.

So what was... There. Hotaru frowned. She wasn't going to deal with this now. She was going back to bed and there wasn't anything that was going to stop her.

She cringed as it interrupted her sleep once more. It was annoying. A little voice that kept piercing her heart. No doubt the source of her headache as well.

Hotaru sat up and glanced off at the wall. It shaped and turned itself, becoming a screen. It showed a little girl crying in the streets. From the looks of it, right below her house. Dark shadows grew closer. Hotaru could see blood everywhere.

A book fell into her lap. She looked down at it and then let out a sigh. It would seem destiny wanted to her to get involved. Even though she didn't want to.

Hotaru growled in annoyance before getting out of bed. She grabbed coat and marched out the door. There was a girl to save and police to call no doubt.

Syne shivered terribly, letting out a small whimper. She could hear the men who just had killed her parents draw closer and closer. 'Go away,' she thought to herself. 'Go away!'

She drew in a sharp breath as she hear click of a gun's safety.

"Hehe found you," a low sinister voice hissed at her.

Syne closed her eyes tightly, waiting for what she thought would be her untimely demise.

It never came.

Instead a loud crash and a clatter. Syne slowly opened her eyes. Standing in front of her was a lady with long brown hair.

"Hmph. Picking on a poor child," the lady spoke. "You're no better then a schoolyard bully."

The man snarled. "You'll pay for that!" He aimed his gun at the lady.

Syne opened her mouth to give a warning. But it was not needed. Bright white lights suddenly flickered on, shining so intensely, that she had to shield her eyes from the brightness.

"Put your hands up in the air where we can see them! This is the police! You are surrounded!"
