Gift Of The Faries




Long ago, the land of the faries was united under the rule of Oberon, the fairy king. He was kind and just, ruling over his subjects with care and respect. Within this land, lived several tribes of faries, the Ignis, the Natura, the Spiritus, the Lucem, the Noctis, the Medicus and the Pluviae. Each had their own territory, and although they did not always get along, they worked together under Oberon's rule to make the land prosper. Whenever things did get a bit hectic however, Oberon would take charge of the situation and make his will known. Oberon had a crown, in this crown was set seven jewels, one for each tribe, matching the color of their wings. When all of the gems and Oberon's crown were united, the powers of all of the races were in the palm of his hand. An added but dangerous power also came, one to control any faries near him with a mere command. He could force them to do what he wanted, bend them to his will. He refused to use this ability unless in the most dire of situations.

An era of peace was brought during Oeron's time, but nothing lasts forever. In time, Oberon grew old, and eventually passed. He had never managed to find a wife or have children, so there was no heir to his legacy. The seven tribes argued about who would succeed Oberon. It was known that he was of the Natura tribe, so they argued they should be the ones to decide an heir and keep the crown. The Ignis challenged this, saying that the Natura had held themselves above others for to long, merely because king Oberon had been of Natura birth. They wanted to choose the heir themselves. The tribes argued for many moons about who would take on the role as the new king of the fairies. During this time, the added temptation of the crown and the power it held. No agreement could be reached, other than that no agreement could be reached itself.

The elder faries and the king and queen of each tribe signed a peace treaty between the tribes. Along with this, the jewels of the crown were taken out of it, each gem given to their respective tribe king. The crown itself was locked away by the elders in a hidden location, to which only they knew of, and many protections were placed to keep it hiden and safe. Even though peace was declared, it did not help the tension between many of the tribes, while others remained friends and allies. Over the years, rumors of the crown slipped into legend, and life went on. However, recently faries have been turning up dead, and some of the tribes are quick to point the finger at others. Many are afraid that this new threat is after the gems and the crown, but without knowing fully what they are up against, the tribes have little to go on.

Tensions begin rising between tribes, and with it, fights are beginning to break out. The tribes are becoming stricter with their members, as well as their land. But with a darkness on the horizon, their only hope is to stand together. Or fall divided. For an evil fairy seeks to take the crown, and unite the people under him, weather it be by surrender, or by force. He has supporters in each of the tribes, those who seek a new era of union, and believe this man can give it to them. The faries must decide their own fate, for the only hope for the future is themselves.

The Tribes

Ignis: The Ignis faries rule the Forlorne mountains off to the north. It is believed they origionated from the fires that burn deep within the mountains. Complementary of this, their wings are red. They excell at fire magic and are known to produce excellent worriors and fighters. They are also known to be bold, brash and hot headed, as well as very proud faries. They are excellent blacksmiths, known for turning out top of the line equipment and metal pieces. The Ignis are allies of the Spiritus and deep enemies of the Noctis. They see them as benieth them, calling them nothing better than thieves and assasins. They share a deep anger and tension with the Natura. They tollerate the Lucem, though they often think they hold themselves a bit above others as well, since they are of the light. The Ignis name literally comes from their fire heratige. They are very resistant and resilient, able to survive tough conditions, it is believed to be because of their stuborn nature. Their gem is red, going along with the color of their wings.

Natura: The Natura derive their name from nature itself. They rule the Hyrulean plains to the east. They are believed to come from the earth, and are its protectors. Their wings are green in color. They excell at magic having to do with plants and animals, even able to speak to animals and the plants. They show a deep connection with the natural world around them. They are often enthusiastic faries, light hearted and kind, though they believe themselves as guardian of the earth, so they often tend to preserve it, even if it goes against other tribes at times. They are proud in the sense that they hold on to the fact that king Oberon was one of them, believing very strongly that the Natura's word should be highly desired and considered by the other faries. They are producers of fruits and vegetables all over the land, as well as some meat, though they are often vegetarians themselves. They love music, and dance, holding many festivals over the year. Their gem is green.

Spiritus: The Spiritus are the wind faries, it is not sure where they are believed to come from, many make the joke of them having just "blow into the world one day". They rule the Whispering Woods of the south, where they often build their homes in the trees to be close to the sky. They are excellent with wind magic, their wings a purple color. They are tricksters, loving to play games and have fun. They can be at times quick to anger and all over the place, much like the Ignis. They get along with the Ignis, the two loving to challenge eachother, the Spiritus often hold friendly competitions. They keep tabs on the weather, blowing away rain clouds when needed, which at times makes an unwanted confrentation with the Pluviae. They are the fastest fliers, their speed unmatched by other faries. Their name comes from the wind and their spirit, they are strong willed faries, known for not giving up or back down. Their gem is silver like their wings.

Lucem: The Lucem get their name from light, their wings are yellow in color. The Lucem rule the Sacred Lands near the center of the world. They excell at light and holy magic. They have the tallent to make their wings glow in the darkness. They are kind and generous faries, often putting others before themselves. They consider all others their allies, even though the feeling may not always be mutual, and they are more leery of the Noctis. They produce charms and magic items, that are for protection and for dispelling darkness. The Lucem are strong believers in good and justice, not tollerating a lot of evil or bad people. They hold themselves to high standards, which often make the other tribes feel like they think they are better then them. This is rarely true, but the Lucem are always willing to lend a helping hand, and try to show people a better way. Their gem is yellow like their wings.

Noctis: The Noctis are faries of the night or darkness, which is where they got their name. Their wings are black in color, and they rule the MoonVallies near the Ignis mountains. The Noctis excell at dark and shadow magic, which often lands them a bad rep with some of the other faries. They are excellent treasure hunters, with keen skills. They are also able to blend into the shadows, especially at night, and are good pickpockets or thieves, though they only really use this for good, though there are evil Noctis, which does not help with their rep. They are excellent swordsmen, often refining their techniques and their natural skills to rely more on them then their magic. They are the second best fliers next to the Spiritus. They are strongwilled and hearted, loyal and faithful to those they call allies. They are good faries contrary to being believed to come from darkness itself. They have many skills, but much of them is a mystery to other tribes, even the Ignis. Their gem is black.

Medicus: The Medicus are believed to be somewhere along the lines of a cross between the Lucem and the Natura. Their wings are a tan color. They are healers by nature, their name coming from the term medicine. They excell at healing magic and knowledge about remidies and various herbs and such. They are kind and loving, often tooken advantage of for their kinder nature, they hate seeing others hurt. They are smart and adventurous though, often seeking adventure outside of their normal lives. The Medicus travel around a lot, so they have villages near many of the other's terretories. Their homes are known to be neutural territory, and they frown upon fighting within, their land is ment to be a place of refuge and healing to those who need it. They find joy in many things, and are often the ones to see the beauty in everything and the good in others. They enjoy being with other faries, and giving others a chance to be their own person. Their gem is tan like their wings.

Pluvaie: These are the water faries, named after the rains. They are believed to have come from the sea in some life, and are graceful in everything that they do. Their wings are blue in color, and they excell at water magiv. They are known for their beauty and grace, many often seeking a love from their tribe. They are calm and level headed faries, often ones to think things through and all possibilities before making a move. Their personalities tend to be oposite of the Ignis, much like their elemental backgrounds. They are artists by nature, turning out beautiful jewlery, artwork, singers and performers. They do have a quirky disposition for humor, once they start laughing it is often hard for them to contain their happiness, when normally they can be seen as quite steely and perfectionists in a sense. They are kind faries, often coupled with the Medicus as allies. They love the rain, which makes them a bit upset when the Spiritus push away the rainclouds. They rule the Crystal Coast to the west, near the water. Their gem is blue in color.

*Faries are the size of NORMAL HUMANS. They are not itty bitty people, so their world is like ours is to us. There are no humans, but their are normal and mystical animals and creatures, some who pose a threat and are enemies of the faries.
