Automaton High

Automaton High is a school for rehabilitation. It's where you're sent when you're out of second chances.

"Whatever they do there, it works. I've never seen my daughter so obedient." - Mother of a previous student.

But the public doesn't know the secret that hides behind those barbed wire fences. Not all of the students are human. Or at least - Not anymore. There's a lab deep beneath the school where students are built, from wood, from porcelain, from cog and wheels. Then they replace the originals. And somehow, nobody notices.

But there's a problem. The Automatons are getting more lifelike. They're getting emotions. They're becoming more like real teenagers, and are spreading their tales. How will the school respond?

Rules:

- Human or Automaton, you're a normal(ish) person. No powers, and no godmodding.

- Make sure to follow the whole PG13 thing. (Yes, that includes intense makeout sessions, we don't really wanna "see" it.)

- Feel free to swear, but not every third word. Show some restraint.

- Drama is encouraged, this is a high school after all.

- Literacy is important! I'm not going to be nit-picky about length when you're conversing, but try to average about 4 sentences.

- This isn't specifically a romance roleplay, but it's certainly going to be an important part of the story. Just remember that the automated students will be new to emotion.. so take it slow.

- Obviously don't post until I accept your application and open the roleplay.

- PM all profiles to me, under the heading "Cogs and Wheels"

Extra Info: The development of emotion goes like this - Excited, Happy, Sad, Anger, "Want", Lust, Fear, Love.
As you arrive at school, you get a journal with the schedule and a place for you to write personal reminders. Keep it with you, as teachers will ask you to write homework in it.

Personality: A very out going and friendly guy, Asher loves to meet new people, new girls, anyone and everyone. He has a quick wit and jokes andpranks up his sleeves always. He is always entertaining, singing, telling stories, anything to get attention. Even though he seems like a carefree guy, he has a very tame and reserved side as well. This side had helped him rise to the very top of his class and be on a track to a very successful career and life.
Bio: Asher was always popular, as well as part genius in all his classes. Not a single person could say anything negative about him. It was at the end of his senior year when valedictorian and salutatorian were about to be announced when Asher went hay-wire. He became obsessive about grades and making the top two of his class. When the offical names came out, Asher was not in the top two and something inside of him snapped. He went on a rampage through the school damaging thousands in property value as well as injuring many of the students in his way. After being on trial, the judge sent him to Automaton High to finish the schooling he missed.

Personality: Peace keeper type, but, if he thinks a peaceful resolution won't be possible, will skip any talking and jump into the fight. Unfortunately, he tends to enjoy a good fight and prefers to think that a fight must be coming. Tends to apologize after a fight though, whether he wins or not, or even if the person hates his guts, he'll apologize. Also treats everyone like they're friends, including one person who broke his arm, he came back from the hospital treating the guy like his best friend.
Bio: Gareth kept getting in trouble for the fights he got in to. He was sent to Automaton because the orphanage he lives in was sick of the fights, especially the ones he would get in to at the orphanage itself, so they sent him to Automaton to, as the head of the orphanage put it, 'Straighten the little f**ker out!'

Personality: Unlike her twin she rather stays quiet and more in the background, but that doesn't mean she can't be loud and proud when she is with him, she also likes to get into little spats with him. She cares about her family and will stick up for them so if you want her mad just say something bad about her family and then you will get what you ask for.
Bio: She has a twin brother, who is older then her by at least 2-5 minutes and two loving parents. Liala was more on the docile side out of the two, where as her brother had most of the attention onto him she prefer to be in the back ground of things. She and Silas played pranks on others all the time. The only way they could behave was if their parents caught them or disapproved of their act. Most pranks were harmless though. Except one little prank went a little too far, arson, that was why they were there in that place in the first place, they burned down the gymnasium at their old school, thier parents were tired of having to basically be around them all the time so that they could be good so they sent them both to Automaton.

Appearance:

Personality of Replaced Student: The real Tesla was rebellious, tomboyish, angsty and lazy to a fault. New Tesla rarely shows this - at first glance, anyway. She does, however, love to "sleep" and can often be seen lazing about couches or pillows.
History of Replaced Student: Tesla grew up as the only daughter and baby of her family. Her two older brothers are five and eight years older than her, so she's had a lot of time to see them progress into what they are today. They've gone from her childhood playmates to something far darker. Her eldest brother is currently in jail for dealing drugs. Her middle brother is homeless. Their family wasn't particularly the best environment to grow up in, and after seeing her brothers, who she'd always looked up to, fail in life, she just gave up. She has zero respect for her parents or her elders, and doesn't seem to care about her actions. She constantly lives in the present. She has a small tattoo on her back that she got without consent - a set of white wings which look as though they've been cut off to the bone - and several feathers in various places on her body. Her parents collected every spare penny they had to pay her tuition for this new school - if it doesn't work, she's a lost cause.
Automaton's Emotions: Almost no development at all, Tesla knows only "disappointment" or "approval" at the current time. These will soon evolve into "happy" and "sad", but at the moment, she's pretty much factory condition. Her primary objective is to serve her purpose and behave.

Personality of Replaced Student: The original Ashleigh was charming and sweet, the girl that your parents would love. When she batted her long lashes, people fell at her feet to get her what she wanted, and she loved the power. She used her manipulative prowess to influence everyone she met.
History of Replaced Student: Ashleigh was the kind of girl who never liked it when something stood in her way. That included the law. She did what she wanted, when she wanted and as much as everyone loved her, stealing was going to get her shut away if she didn’t stop soon. But somebody had an idea. “We’ll get her reformed” they said, and sent her to Automaton High.

Shizuka used to be somewhat of a troublesome girl. She liked to explore things she didn’t understand and she often sought out adventure. She liked to take on a challenge and conquer it. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind to anyone about anything; if she thought it she said it. She often took things that weren’t hers, but she did ask them. It didn’t matter if they said yes or no she would take it anyway, she thought if she asked at least she was being somewhat polite about it. She often found herself in the principal’s office yelling at the top of her lungs. She never thought she was wrong about anything or did anything wrong.
History of Replaced Student:
Shizuka grew up in a somewhat wealthy family and she never had a problem with getting what she wanted. When her father came home one day and told her mother and herself that they had lost everything they had. They were evicted from their home and they had to sell almost everything they owned. They moved into a small apartment and that is when the trouble began. Her father took up drinking and her mother began to show up less and less. Shizuka usually roamed around and rarely came home. Her mother finally announced she was leaving to marry another wealthy man. Shizuka was left with her father and they eventually had to move into his parent’s home. Her father’s Mother disliked her and they did not get along well. Eventually she was sent away to an unknown school after her Grandmother had caught her once with drugs. The drugs had been the first ones she had ever bought, but she was busted.

Personality of Replaced Student: Dev was always a rather rash and stubborn boy. He did value family, but it only went so far and for so long before they did something to tick him off. Normally well-behaved if he had nothing else to egg him on. A rather loyal friend but did act out to get noticed or paid attention to.
History of Replaced Student: He was one of seven children. The family was rather rich, so they never had any problems with the rather large family. However, since he was neither the eldest, nor the youngest, he normally had to try and win his family's affection and praise. This made him a bit reckless. He loved his siblings very much, but sometimes got too rough with them. Whenever he accidentally hurt them, his parents punished him. Saying he did it on purpose to 'act out'. This never went well with him, but it was the only time he got singled out. As time went by he became more reckless, trying to get his parents to notice him. They'd had enough once he almost destroyed their house due to an accident. Sending him to the school seemed to work best.

Personality of Replaced Student: Funny and mostly caring to others. Loves being playful. Has a bit of a short fuse sometimes though.
