The soft melody of birds resonated through the air heralding the coming of spring of course those fell on deaf ears, ears that had never once heard the twittering of birds, or the mooing of cows, the laughter of children, or crow of the roaster. But Remi didn’t mind these things, because he didn’t know of them, how can one miss what one has never had? His attention was fixed on the stray cat he had come to adopt he would feed it and pet it delighting when it started to purr. He could feel the vibrations coming from it and while he didn’t understand what it meant he had a feeling it meant the cat was happy. The cat enjoyed the attentions of the silent man it followed him everywhere he went. He knew he was different from everyone else, they had a way of communicating with their mouth but whenever he tried to mimic them they chased him off and sometimes threw things at him. He had no way of knowing that what came from his mouth was nothing but sounds that often times scared people for sounding inhuman. So he found it better to just steer clear of people entirely, only his mother seemed to understand him and since she passed away two months ago he had felt more alone than ever.
