Does... anyone actually like turkey? This is going to be a whole lot of soup and gravy if I mess it up.

I'm sure plenty of people love turkey. It's really not too hard to cook, so I'm sure you'll do fine.
And fun fact, you can actually save the carcass once it's been eaten and use it to make turkey stock for using in soups.

I love Turkey. As a kid we'd have our Thanksgiving Turkey that Thursday and then twice a day through sunday. Then sunday night after church we'd all gather around the carcass like ghouls and pluck the poor bones dry.
Now daddy was right there with us so monster had to b good till he was done, but we all finished at the same time. When there wasn't a bite left. Good memory

That is a nice memory to have!
For a good stock for soup, break up the carcass to fit into a big pot, cover with water and add some onion, celery and carrot...and desired herbs and seasoning...and boil until the meat falls off the bones. Then pour the liquid through a srtainer to collect the bones.
This stock can be frozen for future uses.

Daddy grew up on the wrong side of a coal camp in s/e Kentucky. He always made sure we ate. I remember me drinking milk as a small boy and him fishing through the ashtrays cause he couldn't afford milk and smokes.

He was. He started off passing on abuse but when child welfare was called by a teacher he realized he was wrong and tried to change. Ma messed that up. Later as a adult I had a great relationship with daddy, but not until the momster made trouble that caused us not to speak for years. Then he started ignoring most of her crap.he died at 77 in 2007 on june 17 which was Father's Day. He looked like a kid in his casket.

Christmas is coming hard and im very pleased over all. We survived momsters attack on our happy lives. Wifelady and me live he with harley the wonder dog, porch cat and the chicken's. The last 2 r forming a vocal group called "k k kitty and the chicks. " a tribute to b b benny's and the jets.
Meanwhile sistergirl and her husband r doing great. It warms me everytime I think about how happy she is. Daughtergirl and her family r in church and both kids r saved for which I'm soooooo grateful.
Everyone's happy as pigs in slop. I hope all of u r happy and if not then may next year b yours

We all had a good Christmas. Christmas eve we had a Turkey dinner at sistergirl house. When I got home from the ER Christmas morning I slept till 11. Then wifelady and I had our Christmas gift exchange. After which we went to daughtergirls house. My granddaughter who is 14 help wifelady with the cooking and we all had a pleasant Christmas day. Daughtergirl was home but in no shape to cook. So she rested till dinner time.
Sistergirl and her husband spent Christmas day with her daughter in law.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Sadly, I don't walk like I used to. But there's sufficient wildlife and livestock around me so its alright. God bless and keep u all. And god watch over our poor troops. Another stupid Republican war for oil. Crap! I'm too old and sickto b drafted. And in spite of my opposition to this war I would take a hand if I could. Most of u know I'm a veteran. It ticks me off when armchair Patriots scream about their patriotism. U want this war ? Enlist. Or send your kids and grandkids to fight. Put your blood where your mouth is.
