An account can be banned for a number of reasons. Repeatedly breaking the site's rules can get you banned, but the most common cause of bans are an inactive email address attached to your account. Many email hosts delete email addresses if they are not used for a certain period of time (Yahoo is notorious for doing this after as little as 3 months of inactivity). Having an inactive email address causes our emails to bounce, which can cause email servers to think that Menewsha is a spam site. Then our emails do not go through to our other users! So to prevent this, the system is automatically set up to deactivate accounts with dead email addresses. This will also happen if you click "spam" on a Menewsha email.
To have this problem resolved, simply email [email protected] with your account name and what has happened, and the situation will be resolved.

If you have been banned for breaking the rules, you may create a new account. If your account has been deactivated due to a dead email address, do not create a new account. You can get your old account back by emailing [email protected].
