basic storyline

kazu, a loving cat boy who has a hidden secret
kyon, a quiet straight A student who is persistent to get kazu out of his life
reizo, a bisexual playboy who ends up getting played
hiku, a heartless machine who turned out to be...not that heartless
satoshi, a mastermind who really needs counseling
tetsuya, THE guy who was the cause of everything

• one snowy day, kyon came back from school to find a box infront of his door. and in the box was a cat boy, in only a sweatshirt and shots and clutching a heart shaped crest in his hand. there was a note as well -- 'love me! ♥'. reluctantly kyon took him in, only out of pity for the poor shivering boy. the next day, kyon found that the cat boy's name was kazu but kazu didn't remember anything else except his name. from the start, kazu loved kyon. but it wasn't mutual. kyon had a girlfriend but kazu didnt give up just because of that.
  
  but why does kazu love him so much? why doesnt he remember anything? why does kazu have cat ears and a cat tail? why won't he go home? does he have a home? who left him infront of the door? and what, what is that heart shape crest and kazu seems to treasure?
  
  over time, things went up and down for the 'couple'. kyon ended up breaking up with his girlfriend after she found out that he was living with kazu, who clings on to kyon even more than herself. and then one day, another box appeared. and in it was another catboy. another heart shaped crest. another 'love me ♥' note. scared at the idea of another kazu, kyon made his brother, reizo take the new one in. the new catboy's name was hiku and again, hiku didnt remember anything else. reizo and hiku got along /very/ well, in a physically sexual relationship. but reizo eventually fell in love with hiku (and not just his body) and then...hiku broke his heart (not literally of course!), and disappeared.
  
  who are these cat boys? according to the news, hundreds have been appearing up all around, somehow only targetting males, all in the late teens or early 20s. and they all had a heart shape crest. and they all treasured it.
  
  after much pressure from kyon, kazu finally told the truth. the catboys...kazu and hiku and all the others -- weren't human. they were robots in a sense, but they had feelings, they had internal organs, they all had different personalities. and all of them had one goal in mind -- to make others love then and then, to break their hearts. just like what hiku had done to reizo. kazu told kyon that at first, he intended to do the same but as he began to know kyon he started to really love and care for him. he couldn't break his heart. kazu wasnt as cold and heartless as hiku was. and so, kazu and kyon decided to go to the mastermind behind all this, and save the world.
  
  with the guide of kazu's magical heart shaped crest, kyon and kazu went to where kazu said was his 'master's' hideout. his master turned out to be satoshi, a young man who looked only a little older than kyon. satoshi smiled as they met and said that kazu was probably a 1st generation 'mistake' for betraying him. angered by this, kazu broke the heart shape crest and freed himself from the master/slave relationship between him and satoshi.
  
  it turned out that satoshi made his plan after getting rejected and heartbroken. back when satoshi was in highschool, he had a best friend -- tetsuya. tetsuya was a year older than him but it didn't matter, they were childhood friends and knew eachother like the back of their palms. but satoshi loved him -- he wanted to be more than just best friends. when he confessed, tetsuya laughed at first, thinking it was a joke. but after realizing that it was not, he bluntly rejected him -- "i dont go for guys...sorry..." and that was the start of satoshi's depression which eventually led into insanity and that eventually led to his mastermind plan.
  
  after satoshi's little (sob!) story, hiku appears with reizo. they tell satoshi: tetsuya is dead. he was killed in a car accident shortly after he had rejected satoshi. shocked by this, satoshi committed suicide as well. kazu and hiku forcefully shut down the plan as they skillfully buttonmashed (xD) in the main control room. but satoshi had it so that the catboys would disappear within 5 minutes after the shut down. and in these 5 minutes, hiku apologized to reizo and kyon confessed to kazu.
  
  and thus. XD they saved the world! ( from cute catboys with evil intentions o__O )
  ( but didnt live happily ever after D: oh how kyon misses kazu now ~! )

• Q. i dont get _____________ from the storyline...
  A. well, i wrote it rather fast and its all mushed together. some parts im not sure about and i have to work on closing the loopholes. there are somethings i DO know tho, but just didnt mention in there because it was hard to. satoshi had made catboys so the ears and tail would make them stand out. sort of like in deathnote, satoshi /wants/ the world's recognization. this is because hes insane. but also because he wants revenge. the heart shape crest is the power that keeps the cat boys loyal to satoshi.it's also the life source for the cat boys as well and at the end, the 'disappearence' of the cat boys (after 5 minutes when the program has shut down) is actually because the crest self destructs. kazu overcomes this and doesnt 'die' when he broke his own crest because his love for kyon is that pure and strong. if youre wondering about something else...just ask :3
  
  Q. why doesnt kazu have a heart pin on his sweatshirt?
  A. at first he puts it on but once he realize he loves kyon, he takes it off and never puts it on again. he's ashamed of what hes suppose to do and it's symbolic, showing how he's betraying satoshi. hiku, on the other hand, wears it because it was only until the very end does he realize that he was wrong.
