Story

In modern day, a group of scientists from the governments were performing experiments, trying to fuse animal DNA with a human.

These experiments were completely consensual, with no fine print. The patients were fully aware of the fact that the chances of survival were very slim. Most of the time, the Patients died withing minutes, but some died hours later, after they had seemed they would be alright.

They did succeed with one person though, and she was experimented on without her consent. They fused her with a Black Panther, and she is the sole survivor that she knows of. (You Must PM me for permission to be a survivor.)

There are magical beings trying not to be caught by the government for a Modern day salem witch trials, and there are others who are part of the government helping to find the ones that are hiding.

Event Idea: Keori and Kalin get kidnapped by someone, and Bakura and Attamaki need to work together, as much as they don't want to, to save them.

Age: 23
Sex: Female
Birthday: October 31, 11:45PM
Starsign: Scorpio
Favourite Colour: Blue
Favourite Pastimes: She loves to draw, and soak up the sun in a sunbeam.
Biography: When Keori and her twin Kalin were born, their mother died due to a complication from birth that wasn't treated quick enough to save her life. The girls were bounced around foster homes for years, until they were 16, and Keori was always favored over Kalin. Now, Keori is trying to pay her way through animation school, and looking for jobs wherever she can. She managed to find a good paying job at a lab, they just needed someone to run errands and the like, no science knowledge needed. At the lab they were performing experiments on people, with their consent. They were trying to fuse animal DNA with the person's, and have a survivor. When interest started to seriously dwindle, they looked inward at the people they had hired, one of which was Keori. The poor girl, against her will, was fused with black panther. She is the only survivor. The only reason why she survived is because of the fact that she is a Thunder Elemental sorceress, like her sister. Although, due to the experimentation on her body, Keori is unable to access anything other than the Thunder element in times of need. She learns to control that later though.
Personality: Keori is a quiet girl that will snap if she is pushed too far. It takes a fair bit to get her to snap though. She's also rather playful, for being part cat. She's got a bit of a punky attitude and appearance aswell. Another thing, is that she is constantly in and out of depression – serious enough to consider suicide several times – because of what had happened to her, and she is ashamed of being alive, since deep down, she considers herself a freak of nature.
Appearance: Long black wavy hair that reaches her waist and curls slightly at the ends. Her Bangs frame her face and are blood red. Her face is more slender, like a wildcat, with cheekbones that are slightly higher than your average person. Her eyes are a golden colour, like a panthers. Her accessories include Oval silver framed blue tinted glasses that she wears for cosmetic purposes. She also has the ears, tail, whiskers (and claws *Optional*) of a panther.

Birthday: November 1, 1:24AM
Starsign: Scorpio
Favourite Colour: Violet
Favourite Pastimes: Kalin plays the Violin, sings and enjoys reading literature
Biography: Kalin, due to the favouring of Keori through their childhood, has grown to despise her twin. she studied law and became a lawyer, since that way she would know how to kill her sister and be able to do it through loopholes in the law. She also is a sorceress - a new sorceress though. She had run into one a few years back when she was travellinga bit. Ironically the sorceress she had met was a student of Rowena, the witch that looks at Keo like a daughter, so the sorceress had agreed to help Kalin out by teaching her all she knew. So now, Kalin will use magic to eliminate her sister, since she can't be traced back to it. She is also an Air element, but being a sorceress, she can utilize all the elements almost flawlessly. Said sorceress was Nakia.
Personality: Kalin is a vengeful bitch. Plain and simple. You say something wrong to her, you're as good as dead. She also has a gothic/punk appearance. (Chains and black and all that loverly stuff) Although, while being an utter bitch, she is not heartless. She hates kids, but doesn’t like to see them in pain and suffering when they don’t deserve. Her reasoning is that she gets that from the fact that she was, to some extent, neglected and mistreated as a child.
Appearance: Long thick hair that goes down to her waist. It's a deep violet, and her bangs (She has some short bangs and some longer bangs that frame her face) are dyed a deep magenta. Her hair is almost always up in a pair of pigtails ~ Usually up high, but may be low. (Feel free to change her hairstyle, just keep it the same colours please). Her face is a bit more rounded than her sisters, not so slender, and she lacks the high cheekbones. Also, she wears a pair of pure black framed glasses (The shape of them is similar to a rectangle with rounded corners) Her eyes are an aqua green. She wears black leather choker with a silver K on it - the place where all three lines of the K meet, is a ruby. Lost of fishnet. A Bear that is beat up. It's missing an eye, stitches everywhere, and it looks like there's blood on it. She never loses that thing since it’s the one thing that she has had since she was born.

Age: Unknown ~ Looks to be late twenties // early thirties though
Sex: Female
Birthday: June 15
Starsign: Gemini
Favourite Colour: Orange
Favourite Pastimes: Playing with Fire, and playing the Piano.
Biography: When she was a young child, she had been told by her mother that she was a Fire Elemental witch, and that in the future that would cause her a lot of problems. And her mother was right.

Rowena, when she was a young woman, gave birth to a son, but hid him away so that he didn't share her fate. She was prosecuted as a witch during the Salem Witch Trials, and was almost killed in one of the "Tests", but managed to survive through a stroke of luck and a random person speaking up on her behalf.

After this, she was less than impressed with the world and started to get her revenge on what she had been put through, and what her son had been put through as well. So she had started to imprison anyone's soul who knew that she was in fact, a witch. Each of the links of the chain that wraps around her hat, is the soul of someone.

Years later, she is now living on her own, scared of anyone finding out her secret, since she knows that they will want to use it against her, or utilize it for their own needs, or hand her over to the world to do as they wished. ... as had already happened once. She had to give up her son, lest the government find out about the fact that she is a witch, and her son too (To some extent), and do god only knows what. She gave her son up to the scientists to spare him the possibility of death. She didn't know what they were going to do to him though, didn't know that in the long run, it was worse.

She currently lives out in the country with Keori and Bakura, away from society so that the three of them can live .... semi... peacefully, and try to avoid being found by Kalin.
Personality: Hell Hath no fury like a womans scorn, is probably the best way to describe Rowena,... when she's pissed off that is. Normally, she's a calm woman, who cares deeply for those that touch her heart, Bakura, Keori, Keori's panther kit, and her pet Phoenix. She doesn't go out of her way to make people's lives hell, and is always willing to help someone out, even if they are complete assholes. Well, normally. If the person is a cruel person, Rowena will deal some retribution in favour of the victim of whomever, and won't feel bad about it.
Appearance: Long hair that is a gorgeous crimson red, with Orange streaks throughout it, kind of like fire. It goes to her hips, and she normally wears it down. (Feel free to change that.) She has a hat that she is almost always wearing. Her hat is similar to Vivi's from FFIX, and it has chains wrapped around it. The chains are optional, but they really are a bit of a crucial part to her character. You can leave them out though.

Favourite Colour: Red
Favourite Pastimes: Finding and eating new spicy foods.
Biography: When he was a child, in order to stop the government from killing his mother, she gave him up to them. Why? Since she figured that they wouldn't do anything to him. Little did she know what they were going to do to her son.

Bakura is a fire element, but since he is a male, that power is locked inside and can't be accessed, at least it wouldn't be accessible it if weren't for the fact that he was tested on. The Scientists at the lab had wanted to make someone immortal, and they did. They made Bakura a phoenix in a sense. If he dies, he has a 97% Chance of a firey revival and whatnot, plus he also acquires wings made of fire when he is pissed off.

He is Rowena's son.
Personality: Bakura is kinda of cold, and slightly naive. He lacks the general knowledge of people and how they work due to the fact that he was locked up for most of his life. Although, while cold and quiet to most people, he opens up to his mother and his Kitten (He calls Keori that sometimes).
Appearance: His hair is similar to Sasuke from Naruto's but not quite the same. Take that style, and modify, make it a bit more... natural shall I say? The colours are Navy blue with silver bangs hanging by his face. Keori dyes it regularly for him.

Starsign: He does know he’s a pisces though
Favourite Colour: Aquamarine
Favourite Pastimes: Swimming
Biography: Attamaki isn’t originally a human. He was born as a Lantha, a passive creature that lives in the depths of the ocean. They are a carnivorous race, feasting on the smaller fish of the waters, and occasionally splurging on some of the larger species. They are also very intelligent.

When he was born, he’d had a genetic mutation that made him look more human then Lantha, and as such he was considered a freak and shunned by both the humans and the Lantha, although the water dwellers shunned him less-so. When he was a young creature, he met up with a sorceress with an Eqyptian look that you don’t see often, so he was intrigued and starting talking to her. He found out that she was a sorceress and was able to bind one half of him into a tattoo. She gave him a week to contemplate the thought, and he did. Eventually he choose to have the Lantha bound. If he looked human, he could blend in.

Shortly after this occurred, he watched his species be wiped out by the humans, he was the only survivor, and barely that, so he vowed to exterminate the humans as payback. How does he do it? He finds young minds to screw around with. Make them commit crimes of varying degree, whether it be theft, grand theft auto, or murder. He plans to make everyone in the world scared of their own neighbour, and he’s starting with the younger generations.

He doesn’t hate children and infants though. Being a creature of nature, he is very in tune with his emotions and with the innocence of others. He can tell when a child is innocent and isn’t corrupted by society yet, usually he stays away from them, and waits for society to dig it’s claws into the child.
Personality: In two words, hateful and quiet. He hates the human race and has hardly any emotions, due to the fact that he’s locked them away in his quest for revenge. After meeting Kalin though, he starts to open up to her, and, though it takes a couple years, eventually he comes to find out that he actually loves her, and the feeling is mutual from her.
Appearance: Short naturally messy dark green hair, with a matching eye colour. He retains one trait from his lantha part, his eyes are pupil-less. He usually wears tattered clothes, so that he can blend into the crowd easier, and can influence the young more. Considering they are more likely to listen to someone who looks like they do, then someone who shows up in a business suit and a whatnot.

Sex: Female
Birthday: March 27
Starsign: Aries
Favourite Colour: Teal
Favourite Pastimes: Nakia really enjoys reading, and is often found swimming in various public pools of the city.
Biography: At an early age the daughter of Cleopatra found out that she had the ability to harness the power of water, and she loved it. She had always had an affinity for water, and when she found out she was a witch, she couldn’t be happier. Nakia spent years learning how to control it, make the liquid around her bend to her will, and then eventually she realized that she wasn’t getting all she could. That she was destined for more. That was when she found out, that she was a sorceress, able to harness the power of the five main elements. Earth, water, fire, thunder and wind.

With that in mind she looked for either another sorceress, or an elemental witch to teach her all she knew. She didn’t find anyone quickly, but after several years she came across a fire elemental witch by the name of Rowena. The young woman took Nakia on as an apprentice to teach her all she knew about the fire element, which was a fair bit.

Soon, Nakia got bored of it, it was constantly the same thing over and over and over again, and she’d had enough. After threatening Rowena once, she finally started to learn things that she though were more important. After a couple of years, she was bored again. Having learned all she could from Rowena, she left her, and went in search of another elemental instructor. She had two of the elements in her reach, she just needed the other two.

Years later, she came across a woman who agreed to teach her all about Earth, and the soaked it all up, before moving on from there too. And it was centuries later that she met up with Kalin. Someone who was willing to teach her about the Wind element, in return for her knowledge of the others, and her willingness to help off a couple of people. To which she readily agreed.

They studied together for a couple of years before finally they each knew all the other had to teach, and they started out to remove a couple of spots from their pasts. They failed of course, and Keori, Bakura and Rowena all survived, while Nakia does not.
Personality: She is generally kind and caring, and loves everything to do with the water. She would sooner help someone then hurt them, but if needed, she would. She doesn’t say much, but when she needs to, she will.
Appearance: The basics are this: She has long silky black hair that falls just past her waist, her skin is a nice olive tone, and her eyes are so dark they almost look black. Pretty much no matter what she wears, she has a corset on underneath, and she usualyl wears something that is very revealing, since she loves the nightlife, and bringing men and women back to her home to... have some fun. She is a very sensual and sexual woman. She also wears lots of bangles and bracelets. She also has a Tiara // band type thing she wears around her head, it was a gift from her grandmother and is an ancient Egyptian artefact, as are most of her accessories.

Favourite Pastimes: Singing, making people sick, going crazy.
Biography: Seven is a Draydin. A Mythical tree spirit that would never die. They go around the forests, and are what cause death and decay in the plant-life.

About sixty years ago, she was cursed into the body of a human female. The body looked to be about the age of 6, and she was found on the streets by a kind elderly woman. The woman took her in, and treated her well at first. She was given a name, which she cannot remember.

After about a year, when the woman noticed that she did not seem to be aging properly, the woman freaked out. The child was seven years old, at least that was what she assumed since her body was six a year prior... but she hadn't aged at all.

That's when life got harsh. The child, who hadn't done anything to the woman, was treated poorly, the fact that she couldn't speak just seemed to drive teh woman to treat her worse, even though it had been the opposite previously.

One night, the woman pushed the child over the edge. She sewed the child's mouth shut, so that she would have a reason why she couldn't talk.

The Child snapped.

Using the woman's curling iron, the child had murdered the woman while she was cooking dinner. She had thrust the curling iron right through the womans heart.

That was when she started calling herself "Seven". As a reminder of what had happened.

She was tried, and diagnosed with a variety of mental illnesses and was stuck in a Mental ward for years.

Decades.

About twenty years prior to where this RP takes place, she had escaped from the ward. No one is looking for her anymore, since everyone believes she's dead.

To this day, everyone, at first, ALWAYS thinks that she's a male, until they hear her speak..

Personality: Seven is psycho.

Well, she goes in and out. There will be weeks, months, hell, she could go a year or two, without losing control.

When she goes psycho though... you will want to watch out and get out of her way. she will use anything and everything she can to kill whomever she sees. Among... other things.

When she's sane (..... sane-Ish I guess would be more accurate), she's rather nice. She cares about whom she grows to consider friends.

Appearance: DEspite being terrified of restraints, Seven is always wearing a Straightjacket that is never strapped up, she also wears it backwards, and usually hanging open. Her mouth was sewn shut, but since then, she has acquired the ability to speak (Draydin's have no vocal chords. If you want more information on Draydin's, ask and I will make a post about them in the OOC thread). She cut the middle stitches so that she could open her mouth a little, but left the ones on either end. Yawning will hurt. You cannot see the stitches unless you've got something supernatural about you. Magick or whatever. (I will tell you if your character will be able to see the stitches)

Her eyes are a mold green, and her hair is jaw length with bangs that go just past her shoulders. The main part of her hair is blond with an inch and a half of black on the tips, while her bangs are completely black.

Other Characters

Name: Tave Manik
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Birthday: May 12th
Star sign: Taurus
Favorite Color: Sapphire
Favorite Pastimes: Collecting old swords; Reading retired novels.
Biography: Tave was born into your average middle class family. He had a mother, a father and a little sister. His mother was born an elementalist of earth and he has some of her natural abilities. Though he has real control over the powers he does have. He strived in order to be as good at using earth magic as his mother with very little success.

As he grew older he began to develop a little more control over his powers. Using his magic soon became child's play; for instance, lifting a small pebble off the ground and tossing it into a window. His little sister resented the fact that Tave was able to use magic and continually ran away from home. During his High School years Tave would get into trouble in school for abusing his talent and then his parents would have to come up with some excuse to get him out of trouble. His father grew tired of his son’s actions and his daughter always running away so Tave’s father took his sister and moved away. His mother and father soon after became divorced.

Little did Tave know that during his High school years he and his mother had been being watched by the group of scientists that did the experiments. Once Tave turned eight teen years of age and graduated from school he and his mother were abducted and taken as test subjects. The scientists, knowing from surveillance that had over Tave and his Mother knew that they were both elementlists and thought that they would make wonderful subjects. Maybe this time the experiments would go off without a hitch.

Tave was forced to watch the experiments on his mother go horribly wrong as they tried to splice her human DNA with that of a snake. Her body was destroyed in the process of the animal DNA trying to combine with her human DNA. Tave was to be next. Directly following his mother’s death he was then tested on. They induced his magic ability using chemicals and then added in the DNA of a wolf. He started to show the same signs as his mother but his body started to change without causing damage. The temper of the wolf and Tave’s anger towards the scientists managed to stabilize at just the right moment, as if they accepted each other.

Tave was released into a holding chamber so that the affects of his DNA splicing could fully adjust. During his quarantine he went berserk with anger and caused the entire side of a wall to fall down with his earth magic and he escaped from their grasp. He was unaware that magic that strong could lay dormant inside of him, considering that males usually didn’t carry the magic gene. He almost thinks it was a fluke, it happened out of anger and may never happen again.

He’s managed to keep a low profile and has stopped using his magic unless it’s called an accident. He will do anything to keep himself away from that place.

Personality: He has a very short temper when it comes to most topics. He tries not to talk about everything that has gone on in his life, he can’t help feeling to blame for it all. He’s very faithful, but that could be the canine DNA in him. He wants to get revenge on the scientists who were contributing to the experiments and he wants to destroy all other experiments that survived; If any did. He feels anger towards them, and feels like he was just a ginny pig to try and develop a successful fusion. His new life goal is the eradication of all survivors and the teams that created them.
Appearance: He’s tall and well built. He has shoulder length black hair that hides his black wolf ears pretty well. As long as he keeps his ears pressed against his head you’d never know they were there. His tail is long and black also, it nearly drags on the ground. He wears baggy dark jeans so that he can conceal his tail in one of the legs. He also wears a white crew-neck t-shirt with a black button up, long sleeve causal shirt over top of it. He also wears a black choker around his neck, it has a crimson colored diamond in the middle. It was the stone from his mothers wedding ring. Surprisingly enough he looks pretty normal in a crowd of people, except for his fangs which he can’t hide when he opens his mouth.

Username: Ieeko.
Character name: Bastion Silas.
Age: 26.
Sex: Male.
Birthday: January 28th.
Starsign: Aquarius.
Favourite Colour: Blue.
Favourite Pastimes: Photography.
Biography:

Life had developed on its own accord; Bastion's own recollection of the events of his past often tend to suggest bitterness, but, the truth of the matter is that he scarcely lived a sour life. He was born to a rather accidental couple, who had found one another in one of many cafes lining the streets of his home town. Naturally, said couple failed in caring for their responsibilities. It wasn't long before they had made the decision to split, leaving their child to the care of an old 'family friend' named Maria. She was an old woman. At that, she was far more kindly to him than his negligent parents. There was infrequent warring from time to time, as could be expected of a child within a strange home for years. That had never changed a thing. Bastion grew there; he florished within the gray woman's house, eventually adopting one of her many past hobbies as his own out of infatuation. Photography. He adored photography to a level unexplored. Wherever he went, his camera went - and he was always apt to show Maria his findings and work as it progressed. She had, in a bemused manner, always accepted his need for criticism and opinion. With such an interest going between the two, they became close. However, all good things are bound to come to an end. Maria was withered. She was sickly to begin with, her health waning ever slowly until her final days. Even as a grown adult, the loss of his Maria left Bastion mortified. He became angry quickly, and his irrational justification of her death only canonized the entirety of his behavioral problems. Generally speaking, he had always held a complex. He was petrified of abandonment. It intimidated him; it filled him with an emotion he could scarcely stomach. Equating Maria's death to the idea that she had abandoned him only brought about that feeling. On its coat tails came the rage and grief.

For a short number of years, Bastion had held no true aim within his life. He simply bounced from place to place, looking for work wherever he could find it. More often than not, he was the bag-boy within a store, or the bus-boy within a restaurant. Friends came and went, jobs followed the same guide-lines. The natural lows had taken a bit of a toll on him personally. He was simply distraught. That horrific feeling within him was what drove him to the idea of experimentation to begin with. Through a variety of mediums, he found out about the experimentations. Piecing together humans and animals? Why not! He'd thought it over carefully. He had listened to his inner voice, and had questioned what life would be like, or what the purpose of it all was. In the end, he had decided not to care. A rough day busing tables had left him with the belief his life held no solid, decent future. The act would be for science, and it would certainly prove an adventure for he himself. Thus Bastion embarked on a journey more terrifying and painful than he had bargained for. The very act of combining his existence with that of an animal had been unimaginably brutal for his body. In truth, it was a wonder he survived in the first place. He was frequently weak. He was often disillusioned, and his moods swung faster than a pendulem. From time to time, he caused trouble. He was often fidgetty, and his tendency to bite other people was all the more a nusience. Still, Bastion survived the ordeal, successfully combined with the DNA of a least weasel.

His epic leave from the labs is something he does not recall in great detail. Often times he'll just explain 'someone let me out', and then leave it at that. After leaving, though, he took up as quiet a life as he could possibly muster. He slipped between the cracks of scoiety. A transient. One of the many statistic, homeless numbers. Of course, he had not estimated he would be part of another statistic at that.

Personality:

A mixture of various fragments, Bastion's true nature is under a shadow. He has difficulty unleashing himself in full, and often settles down as the pessimistic logician. His train of thought is incredibly practical. If a situation does not look good, he is not compelled to sugar-coat it for anyone. Along those same lines, if something is 'impossible', he is not apt to try it, and will certainly protest. His ways appear to be set. However, such is false jurisdiction. As mentioned, there is a bit of a shadow over him. He tends to act as if he knows everything. He pretends to know all walks of life, and often spits the dictations that everything isn't peachy or wonderful. The truth of the matter is that such behavior is grief-talking more so than Bastion. From time to time, his moods jump between the surly attitude of an angry man and the kindly, quirky behavior of a creative, entertaining individual. More often than not, he walks the line between the two at a mellow state of life. Simply speaking, his temper is short. Words sway him in one direction or another, and the same holds true for situations. In reality, though? Bastion is comedic in his sarcasms, and empathetic with most individuals. He enjoys people, and he enjoys adventure all the same. His true, fantastical train of thought is almost a beacon of light in comparison to his bouts of pessimism. He dreams. Sometimes they uphold his logic, but, more often than not, he makes exclamations of things that are not the most ... applicable for someone of his standard. Such suggests the contradicitions that line his personality and make him who he is. A flip-flopper. A pessimistic-optimist. An illogical logician. A crude man, a kind man. Brutal and fun. He is many things at once, which leaves him unpredictable and strange. In the most basic of summaries: he is a defensive quirk, saddled with life's baggages and his own inability to simply let go.

Appearance:

Incredibly disheveled in nature, Bastion is not the most appealing of men to the eyes. His dark brown hair is unruly, bouncing just at his jaw; its thick curls appear tangled, and strands stick up in random direction, emphasizing a lack of care. The way it falls is simple. The bangs divide rather evenly at his forehead, just scarcely covering the brow. A widow's peak style. The longer regions tend to curl around his face rather than out, though there are sporadic exceptions to the mess. As for structure: his features are sharp, narrow, and stern. He appears to be an incredibly bony young man with firm, slim features. His eyes are generally displayed in a variety of emotions, but the most common is an overly confident 'smug' expression. While generally mellow in appearence, his eyes give way to that faux belief that he 'knows a thing or two'. Their color, like his hair, is a dark brown. In common with the least weasel, Bastion's skin tone is divided. He appears primarily a pale dusty tan color, though about his nose and cheeks there are areas of milky off-white. A pair of tiny ears rest a top his head, and a small tail is usually evident from behind. However, there are frequencies in which Bastion hides both features with a hat and his pants, as they're not difficult to cover. His attire is seemingly immutable. Though he would protest it, he has worn the same thing since his arrival and departure from the labs. A sleek, black jacket rests on top of a wine-red, button up shirt; his pants are nothing more than faded jeans. As far as shoes go, he wears a pair of dim tan sneakers with green stripes along the side.

Any art of the Pre-mades (My characters) That I get will be posted in this thread.

Do I expect any? Nope. But People have expressed interest in my characters in the past, so I figured why not dedicate a post to them?

[Starting Post~]

Keori sat at the table in the coffee shop. She was here, again, as she had been more times in the past than she wished to count. Rowena and Bakura were back at the house doing, well, God only knew what, and she just needed out.

A hat with Cat ears was atop her head, hiding her ears, her tail was wrapped around her waist under her shirt... and her whiskers, she couldn't hide. She just told people she loved cats.... One thing that the cat-girl was not interested in, was people shunning her because of what had happened. Hell, she didn't want anyone to even know about what had happened to her. She'd lived here with three years, and no one had found out about her yet... and she wanted to keep it that way.

Attamaki was in the den in front of the fireplace, as he was flipping through some of Kalin's law notes. She had asked him to go and deal with some of the evidence, to help her case, and he was just double-checking what the case was so he didn't screw up. Not like he would care if he did, would probably just make Kalin's job easier anyway.

He heard the clock in the corner of the room chime, and figured that since Kalin wasn't home yet, she was going to be a little later. "I might as well go start dinner" he muttered as he stood up and started walking to the kitchen. I wonder if Kalin's got any private parties to host tonight.. he thought as he looked in the fridge for something to cook.

Kalin gave a frustrated growl as she slammed the fuel down. the facts were against her...time to twist the truth now. It was the only way to get around the foolish law patterns. After all, she'd yet to lose a case yet... unless she wanted to lose it... Finally, she just slipped out of the chair. Food...and then she did have to get prepared for the next party... After all, she had to make sure all was set up. She headed to the kitchen.

Attamaki had apparently beat her there.

"Hey. I think that's my fridge your raiding.." She leaned agaisnt the doorframe with a smirk. He was welcome to the fridge and he knew it...

"Oh piss off Kalin, if you want me to make your favourite Vanilla and Bailey's Pancakes again." he replied without looking back. He straightened up, Bailey's in one hand and Milk in the other. He turned around and used his foot to close the fridge door.

"So how'd it go today?" he asked her, his slightly creepy emerald eyes focusing on her brown haired wig* "You can probably take that off now..." he added.

[* I think I forgot to mention, she wears a brunette wig while at work.]

Keori's head snapped up at the mention of being a catgirl. Did someone know?

When she saw it was Daniel, she couldn't help the scowl that adorned her face. "Don't call me that!" she hissed at him. "You know fullwell that I don't want people knowing I'm a catgirl"

Leaning back against the booth she took a drink of the gingerbread latte, feeling the warmth from it warm her up. It was cold, well, it was the middle of winter, and she hated the cold. If only Bakura were were to warm me up... she thought absently.

"So what brings you here? I didn't think you drank Coffee." the raven haired woman commented as she looked at Daniel.

That distant look wasn't missed by the perceptive half feline... and she called him on it.

"What's wrong Daniel?" she asked him simply as she took another drink, which finished the contents of the mug off.

"Oops, I'm out. Hey Daniel, I gotta get going. I'll catch you around later!" she said as she stoodup and grabbed her jacket, which was sitting on the booth next to her. She shouldered her messenger bag, which had been hiding under the coat, and walked out of the coffee shop. Pulling her jacket close and zipping it up, she started walking as it started to snow.

Rowena had been trying to keep herself busy during what free time she had at the house. She always seemed to be busy, either cooking or cleaning, or tending to the needs of the others that lived in the house. She was sitting down at the table in the dining area reading through some sheet music she had bought the last time she was out. She also had another piece of paper next to the sheet music and was steadily editing the music to her likings. As soon as she would have the chance, she was going to sit at a piano and play to her hearts content.

Just as she was coming to a close on the re-writing she glanced up from the table and looked around the room. She had been so caught up in the sheet music that she had not realized just how quiet it was in the house. She knew Keori had left for a little while but she couldn’t help wondering where her son had gone off to.

Bakura was sitting atop the roof, watching Keori's pet Panther, kit, play around down on the grass below. He was thinking about random things, still trying to get a good grasp on everything around him. He'd, in a sense, been in the world for centuries, but really, he'd only been conscious of the world around him for the past three years, and he was still absorbing a lot of stuff.

I wonder where Kitten went... he thought as he stood up, it was getting close to dinner time, and he figured she'd be back for the salmon he had promised to make her. Figuring he'd start it soon, he headed back inside via the window to the attic.

The firebird made his way downstairs and saw his mother sitting at the table. "Hey, Mother... any clue where Keori is?" he asked. All he knew was that she'd said she wanted some time to herself. ... but that girl had a history of getting into trouble.

Tave had been walking up and down the sidewalk, peeking into the different stores. He wasn't looking for anything in particular, it was just something to do. He had his hands in his pockets as he wandered, kicking the back of his own foot every once in awhile. He looked like any other man on the street, typical casual clothing. His tail was well hidden, and he kept his ears flat against his head. He looked up just as he heard a door swing open. His pale eyes went wide as he noticed the girl who had stepped out of the coffee shop. 'I know her..' He thought to himself as he stumbled forward a little in hopes of trying to catch up to her.

"Keo" He stated trying not to draw too much attention to himself or her. Perhaps it would have been better to catch up to her and tap her shoulder? Oh well, he had good intentions they were not always applied correctly.

Rowena looked over at her son when he came down the stairs. It was refreshing to see him in what appeared good spirits. As for his question, it took her a moment as she tried to remember where exactly Keori had gone. "Hmm..." She set her pencil down on top of the paper and looked him in the face and smiled. "Didn't she tell you she wanted some time to herself?"
Rowena knew very well exactly where Keori had gone, but knew it'd be better to just keep that to herself for now. After all, Keori wanted to be by herself. "Rest assured, she'll be home in time for dinner" She replied with a pleasant smile.

One of her ears twitched beneath her hat, but luckily it was slightly windy, so anyone who saw that would have just assumed it was the wind.

She looked over to shoulder to see Tave a bit behind her. Turning around she stood still, letting him catch up.

"Hey, what are you doing out in the cold?" she asked him For that matter, why am I? I hate the cold. she added mentally.

"Yeah... she did, but I worry about her." Bakura said with something akin to a sigh. "She's got a knack for getting kidnapped, or just plain old going missing."

He walked over to the fridge and helped himself to some water. He hated the stuff, but he was thirsty and it was grocery day the next day. Looking over to the redhead sitting at the table he walked up behind her. "Found some new music to edit" he asked her.

Tave finally caught up to her, catching his breath; He looked at her with a smile on his face; As he smiled his ears started to pop up on his head. Luckily he caught them in time and placed his hands on top of his head and pressed them back down. "Oh.. yeah.. It is cold isn't it?" He stated as he started to place his hands back in his pockets. As he thought about it, and how cold it really was outside he probably looked pretty strange standing outside talking with Keo, and he didn't have a jacket on. Truth is, he wasn't cold. He was warm all the way to the touch; As if he was covered in fur. "I guess I didn't really pay attention to the temperature" He added with a small chuckle.

"You shouldn't worry about her that much Bukura. You know she's able to take care of herself." She stated as she brushed her red hair over her shoulder and gazed back at her son.

She pushed the sheet music out onto the table so it was easier to see and then set her edited copy right next to it. "Yes, it isn't much but it was fun to edit it. One day I will write my own symphony"

She couldn't help but roll her eyes at him. "So why aren't you wearing a jacket? It's the middle of December." she commented absently. "and what are you doing out here anyway? On your way home or something?"

"But-" he started to say but stopped. He knew that he couldn't argue with her. The woman was almost always right. ... and he wouldn't admit to her face when she was wrong, cause he'd end up with a Fireball in the face if he did.

"So get cracking on it Mother, you need to write your own instead of constantly taking other people's work and modifying it." he told her as he downed the water he had poured for himself. "By the way, do you want any Salmon? I promised Kitten I would make some for her, should I make some for you too?"

Tave just smiled a little as he thought of the answer to her question. "Well, I forgot my jacket.." He started as he stepped a little closer to her. "I forget to grab it when I'm never cold" He replied trying to be vague with his answer as to not draw attention to himself.

He pulled his hands from his pockets and played like he was cold by rubbing his hands up and down his arms a bit and then returning them to his pockets. "Oh, I was just out walking. Looking in the stores and stuff. What about you, Keo?"

Rowena scooped up the papers she had stretched out across the table and neatly stacked them and then placed the pencil on top. "You know, I should start working on it. But it will take forever to write and with so many distractions around here I will always be putting it on the back burner." She said with a sigh. "But one day I will get around to writing it, I swear!" she exclaimed.

She stood up from the chair she was sitting in and picked up the sheet music and walked it over to a book shelf and set it down. Looking back at her son with a smile she continued on. "It will be a wonderful symphony and it will be famous everywhere. At least that is my dream." She then walked back over to the table and sat down once more. "Salmon sounds wonderful. Make sure you make plenty for yourself too"

She pointed to the coffee shop behind her."Took a stroll, ended up here. Stopped for a coffee." she said with a shrug.

"I'm envious of you. You're never cold, Rowe's never cold, 'Kura's never cold... and I'm always cold!" she said with a pout. It didn't bug her that much, at least.. not when she was with her heat source... who was also known as Bakura.

"You've been alive how long and you haven't even sat down to start?" Bakura commented as he started to pull some Salmon steaks out of the freezer to thaw it out. "And you'll be alive for another... how many centuries?" he added. "If you ask me, you'll have no problem getting it famous."

Tave glanced back at the Coffee Shop that Keo pointed to. He didn't even notice, he only focused on the door when she had come outside. "So.. If your so cold, why didn't you grab a warm coffee to go? It could at least keep your hands warm" He stated with a smile. "and you know, I wish I could feel the cold.. I loved this season as a child" He tilted his face up towards the sky watching the snow fall; Every snow flake that hit him seemed to just sit for a moment and then melt away from the warmth his body produced. Standing close enough to him and you could feel it emanating from him.

Rowena just laughed a little as she remembered just how long she had been alive and how long she still had to go. "I really should get started, shouldn't I?" She smiled, turned in her chair leaning against the table and propped herself up using her elbow. "Though, if I wanted to be famous for it I would probably have to use a false name, as to not draw attention to myself. It's a conundrum. To be famous as is, or famous under another name." She forced a smile to her face as she thought a little more about that dream of hers. She couldn't help thinking it was silly. What was the point of writing this wonderful symphony that no one could connect you to? Again, she looked up at Bakura with the same smile as before. "Is there anything that you need help with?"

Keo pulled her pockets out. "Didn't get anything to go, cause I'm out of cash" she told him. The rest of her money was with Rowena for Groceries, since it was her turn to pay for them.

"So get crackin' on it Mother" Bakura said as he grabbed some spices from the cupboard. He grabbed a pan from a lower cupboard and tossed it on the stainless steel countertop. Placing his hand on the counter by the pan, he heated it up. Heat waves could be visible above the counter from the heat.

"It's your choice if you use a pseudonym." he told her as he grabbed a couple more items.

Tave pulled his right hand out of his pants pocket and reached into his shirts pocket and pulled out some money and handed it to her. "There should be enough for you buy something small to go" He stated as he looked back over at the Coffee Shop. He didn't mind giving up money for a good cause. He also liked to help out Keo because she was a lot like he was; A survivor that is.

Rowena let out a sigh and stood herself up. "Okay, okay, I'll start a little of it" She stated as she walked into the living area and went to a book shelf. Her finger skimmed the edges of a couple books until she pulled out a solid black one with nothing written on it. She then walked back over to the table and set it down just before she too returned to her seat.

She flipped open the book to a random page and revealed an entire book of blank music paper. She smiled a little thinking about how long it would take to write that much music and it would be her own too. She picked up her pencil and then opened the page to the front and was surprised to find that the first three to four pages were already written. She set the pencil down and looked over the pages. "Wow.." She stated in surprise. "I don't remember when I started this" She added while studying the music carefully.

Keo accepted the change. "Thanks Tave. I'll be right back" she said and headed back into the coffe shop to get something to keep her warm for the trek home. It was about a half an hour walk, so it would be nice to have something to keep her warm.

She stood in line and waited. It was busier in there than it was before, and she hated it. There was really only two things that scared her, and one of them was crowds. Trying not to hyperventilate at the amount of people, it looked like the place was full now, she ordered another Gingerbread Latte, happy that Tave had given her enough change to be able to get a medium.

When she paid for her drink and was handed it, she left the coffee shop, and walked back over to Tave. The burst of cold as she walked outside, was something that helped her calm down.

"Thanks a million, Hun" she said as she arrived next to him. "Guess I should start on that annoying trek home." A sigh escaped her as she thought of the half an hour trek home.

Bakura walked over and peered over her shoulder and looked at the notebook.

"Didn't you say you did that when you first moved here years ago?" he asked her, remembering her mentioning something like that. At least.. he thought he remember her saying that. He headed over to the pan on the counter and looked at it, it seemed that it was heated enough and he smirked. He grabbed a bowl and whipped up a marinade for the salmon, before tossing said fish into the bowl. He mixed it around a bit, making sure it was all covered before pulling it out and laying it gently in the pan. Instantly the sound of sizzling fish was heard, and it could be smelled as well.

As the fish was cooking, he made up a sauce that was mostly just lemon and fresh dill. It didn't take very long for the fish to cook, and by the time that the sauce was done, the fish was too.

Grabbing a couple of plates, he dished out the fish and looked out the kitchen window for Keori.

"Thought you said she would be home for dinner" Bakura commented.

Tave gave another warm smile once Keo had returned. "I'm glad that I could help out" He turned and started to walk a little way down the sidewalk. He turned around and looked at her, "If you like I could walk you home, It might seem a little less boring and time consuming that way" He stated as he thought about how long her walk home really was; And with the time of day, it would be safer for Keo to walked home rather then make that trek by herself.

Rowena closed the black book in front of her and looked over at Bakura from her seat. It sure was taking Keori longer then usual to return home this time, but she wasn't too worried about it. Now she just had to reassure her son that she would soon be home. "Well, if you didn't cook dinner so quickly she probably would have been home just as you were placing the fish on the plates" She said with a quiet chuckle.

She turned back to the book for only a moment, her hand was rested on the cover. She couldn't seem to remember writing the music, but it was apparent that she had. Who else would have written it, let alone know where she kept her book. The book blended in too well with all the others and if you didn't like to read frequently then you may have never noticed it. She ran her fingers over the edge of the book and along the binding. 'I've been busy, maybe that's why I don't remember' She thought to herself as she pushed the book towards the center of the table.
