(thread)

Who wants to join me for some pscyhedelic Victoriana? Apropos of everything, I wanted to share my favourite Alice in Wonderland, Jonathan Miller's 1966 "Wednesday Play" version, as part of the celebration. If you're up for it, lower the lights and take one of the vacant seats in the front - you are in for ~something special~

So did you make it through? If so, what did you think? What's your favourite adaption of Carroll's works?

Tangents are welcome too: I just so happend to have visited the actual treacle well last summer. I can see why it's talked about - while not exactly viscous, it does have a texture unlike what we usually think of as "watery"

This looks nifty. I won't have time to watch until a bit later, but I've subscribed for now. :)

I would agree with the nifty. It's not your traditional AiW, but I actually think it hits upon the contextual tone better than others.

I just don't know. It does require you to set aside a period of time, which isn't something everyone is going to want to do during an event. I was thinking of "talking" more about my trip to Oxford's Alice implications by posting a video that was done by the school I attatched myself to during the trip, but I can't find it anywhere. I did find the PDF overview of the trip though?

Er, have the opening posts always looked like that? It's not what I saw during the set-up and refining process.

Anyway, I was thinking about all this, and I remembered a great Smithsonian article on Charles Dodgson. It really adds layer to any understanding of the stories, I think.

I'm taking a lowkey approach, but to the extent that I am involved in it, yeah, it's fun. How about you, Hummy?
