The heavy fog that surrounded shrouded the master's dwelling remained unbroken by the cold moonlight, its billowing streams obscuring the many dark arches that comprised the castle. All seemed deathly still in the forest that surrounded it, as though no creature breathed in the densely wooded land, until a soft chorus of wolves' cries rose into the night. Their howling grew steadily closer, as the villages surrounding the master's castle quieted at the ominous calls.

Presently the clatter of large, clawed feet could be heard in the dark courtyard, as well as the frothing breaths of the beasts that had escorted the Count home.

The mist veiled his tall, pale figure, freshly fed and nearly glowing with youthful vigor despite his age. He appeared quite unaware of the wolves dancing around him, as tame as sporting hounds, and paid them no heed as he strode across the courtyard. He pulled the heavy door open, shaking off his cloak which was damp from the fog, and closed it behind him with a show of far less effort than it should have taken of a man of his size.

Once inside, his heavy footfalls ceased, and he stood in the darkness as though listening for something that none but he could hear.

The night grew still but cold, Her arms filled with goose bumps....She should have worn a shaw with her dress tonight...yes she should have, there was no need to complain about it now though, she was already late to her family's dinner party. She was always late, but they acted like she was the most important person to attend the dinner, only because she was the beauty in the family, Her brothers were much much older and her sister's have all married, they did not understand as to why she wasn't.

She shook off the thought, marriage was so...bland and boring, why should people get married to prove to anyone that there is love? Oh, thats right, its the proper thing to do these days, thats what mother always ends of saying at every single dinner party, which were twice a week. She hated going, all these mens eyes on her, she had no interest in them. But mother insisted....

She stopped and realized that while deep in thought she had gone the wrong way, good thing she knew the town better than anyone, or she would be in big trouble. Was it her or did the night seem to get colder the later is got?

The master listened more carefully still, and slowly a smile spread across his bloodless lips. He could sense her movement--hers--Victoria's! She had been an object of his attention for quite some time now, although of course she didn't know it. He stalked his prey like a wild animal, watching from the shadows, weighing his victim's movements carefully. Yet tonight, somehow, he had misjudged. Tonight she would be closer than he had thought.

The Count stepped outside once more, his presence finally silencing the wolves' cries. The encircled the courtyard with bated breath, waiting, and the vampire waited with them.

Slowly, very slowly, the fog around the castle began to shift, and the master moved forward with a quick, sure stride. The obscuring mist became thicker and thicker as he moved, snaking through the dark trees to follow.

((shall they meet at a dinner party or should he lure her to him?))

Victoria hurried along, the night was shifting and fog was seeping into the Air, which seemed to be cooler than normal this time of year, She walked along the street lights so she could still see, how embarrassing would it be to be lost in her home town! Her family would end her....Never letting that story alone...she can hear her older brothers now, laughing, making jokes....Oh how she hated them, even though they were family, she would rather go on to her own life, start fresh, without these stupid dinner parties....

She could see her mothers big white house, cars pulled all around, some in her mothers yard...she sighed....she had made it there ok, Now it was time to go and be the gossip during dinner...

(( Hmm, I think luring her would be...better XD but you make the call ))

((that's cool with me!))

The fog continued to spread at the master's behest, thickening, choking the town like the crushing grasp of a powerful snake.

Victoria, he placed her name upon the gentle wind, willing her steps to turn in his direction. Come to me, Victoria...

The town and the woods around it were under his dark influence; at his call, the phantom lights that resided in the forest, which had led so many men to their doom, beckoned at the young girl as the mist closed in around her.

Come to me, Victoria... he silently urged.

She was almost to her mothers house when she felt something, someone, calling her, she couldnt help but stop in her tracks, and turn to where she felt her name, her being...being called. She had no idea what this was, or where she was going...she was heading into the fog, the cold darkness of the night, where she was being pulled...lured by something....maybe someone?

Victoria, come to me....

She felt it in her heart that she must follow, it was as if she had no control over her body and she followed the voice in her head, telling her, calling her, as if she had no choice...

The master smiled. He had her attention; he could the affect of his persuasion on her delicate mind, the force of his pull on her rapidly beating heart. He strode into the darkness, his wolves lurking close by but keeping their distance, hidden from sight lest they frighten the girl.

She was his...he would have her...

his hungry smile spreading, he walked deeper and deeper into the shroud, seeking Victoria in the cold night air.

The pulling, the calling, was getter closer, harder to ignore...Victoria wandered in the foggy mist of the woods....
Her mind fighting this, wait...What am I doing? Who is doing this to me? She thought, trying to pull away from the lingering feeling she had...who was doing this to her?

She managed to make her legs stop moving, but it was harder than she was ready for, could she handle this?
She fought, but it was, in the end, useless....Whoever was calling her, had her, she was no longer her own master, her own person....She was His....
