I am too XD

I'm debating about putting 'mene' on the front but that will have to wait until Maria gets home because I have NO idea on how to start that.

Fix the sleeve, make it tight fit. Easier to shape.
You can even have a belt at the wrist, as a kind of design.

Adding lining to it, is one easy detail. If you think it is too proper or like jersey... (I am fine with it though.)
Why not make the line curvy or even pointy? zigzag wacky-ish.

ooo... yes, that kinda lines. It is simple yet different! You see what I meaaaaaan?
I guess you haven't fix the sleeve yet? x.x I sounds so repetitive...

You can do similar things on the collar too.

I tried to fix it, but I guess I didn't fix it enough.

You said it was too loose? So I should make it more tighter right? *determined to fix it*

erm no... I meant it do not have gravity. XD
It should have gravity. Instead of loose, I am suggesting you to do a tight sleeve because it is easier to follow the shape.

Let's start from the easier shape.

I can see you have a few pixels off...
Have you try literally follow every pixel of that arm?

What program are you using?
Do you use a layer? Just follow the avatar base's arm.

I have the old fashioned Paint. Microsoft Paint 2003. My computer is a bit out dated ^^; If I do have a layer option, I'm not sure how to use it.

It is just to preserve the avatar base beneath.
Kinda like tracing. You just draw the shirt and jacket in different paper, so when you want to edit either of it, it won't mess up the base or other portions.

So now, without layers, you already cover the base with your sleeve, how do you know where the exact pixels are?
Get a new base, cut the arm part and paste it over. x.x *sounds so bloody*

ok, so Maria just taught me that I can cut and paste the blank arm from the mannequin so I'm starting over. I recolored the edges of the arm where as last time I outlined the arm. Does this look better?

Obviously there's no shading there, but I want it to make sure the shape is right.

Yes, yes! Like that~
However, down at the wrist part, you curve the wrong way.
not as u but as n direction.

Now, to fix that, add 3 pixels horizontal... Anyway, I experimented with it.

Aren't I kind enough to zoooooooom it in?

YESS!!! that's perfect. I'm very much a visual learner and not so much an Oral learner, so pictures always help.

Ok, so (for future reference) would the sleeve always curve down in the 'n'?

I don't know anything about this kind of thing, but, from my point of view, you're doing great! (That doesn't count for much, though. ) I wouldn't know the first thing about doing something like this, so you're uh-may-zing, to me.

Personally, if the shirt was super cheap, I'd probably take one in a couple of colors. Otherwise, it's a little too plain so far. I don't know anything about the contest... can you make multiple colors? Like pink with blue sleeves, or white with blue sleeves or something? That just sounds fun. More my style anyway, lol. Just something that sets itself apart from the regular bland stuff Mene already has.

Thanks Poppet!!

It's actually for an Autumn themed contest, so I was doing Halloween colors, but I'll keep your suggestion in mind should it ever come up again. Thank you so much!!

Oh, I don't know what color candy corn actually is. I saw a kid in my kindergarten class throw some up once on Halloween, and I haven't gone near the stuff since. Lol But yes, you're doing great!

Mystictic... I will doubt the person's eye IF they can't get it right with my zooooooooooom in picture. It is so big already!

As for the logic of the curve.
Notice I didn't ask you to change anything on the avatar's right arm? Cause I figure that is better shape and the curve at the end of the sleeve looks good too. However, the right arm is in side view, but the left arm is in quarter view, their curve would be different.

Normally, curving in the U or slanting inward like your black shirt sleeve is fine. But your right arm side view sleeve end do not suggest that simple straight cut. The way you curve the sleeve end on the right wrist, it looks like the sleeve end is a bit looser and spread out a little bit, that is a spread out cut. But the arm we fixed, it WAS a straight cut. What I am suggesting is just matching up both sleeve, and I choose the non-straight cut.

Compare to old and fixed version, did you see that in the fixed version, the sleeve ends seems to spread out because it is hugging the top of the hand?

Ah!! Yes I see the difference now. Ok *nods and stores that away for future reference.*

Thank you for all your patience! I know I can be kind of retarded sometimes XD XD

so the sleeve is good and I can return to shading right?

Are you going to add that zigzaggy lining on the collar? and don't forget that lining on the other sleeve.

Good way is to observe menewsha's items. There are quite a lot of long sleeves, see how the pixelist do it. Menewsha had done various shapes.

ok, I've been working on this thing for like, 3 days, and the zigzag on the left side never seems to look right, so I'm posting it to see if you can help me figure out how to keep the pattern going while still following the angle.

Yes, the right arm is a bit limited space, isn't it? XD *giggles*
When in regard of small space, don't complicate things for yourself, it looks fine to me though.
The Collar one also look fine... but there is one awkward view.

Collar zigzag on viewer right looks fine. But on viewer left, I can see the different width of the lining, seems like on breast is smaller than on shoulder?

OK, Xuvrette, I think I finished with the t shirts. The Men's I decided to go with the basic line like the jersey's because I couldn't make the zig zag work on theirs. That and I think it looks better. So here is the 'finished' men's shirt. (I say finished, because other than a little tweak here and there, I really don't want to add anything else.)

And the finished Female shirt. (again, 'finished' except for a tweak here and there)

Male's have more space for zigzag design though.

There is one thing about the shading. If you compare male and female version... it seems like male's sleeves is darker.
