Entertainment shows and dramas have been temporarily cancelled, so no music shows or funny talk/game shows. I don't know what's being showed instead. There are a lot of angry family members trying to get answers and begging for more rescue efforts. The K-pop blogs I look at are at least partially dedicated to news about the ferry right now. Did you know the vice principal of the high school those kids were from committed suicide?

What happened?

I did watch a snippet of the captain of the ship being arrested and convicted.
I know nothing more about the happening other than the ferry sink.

A ferry in South Korea carrying mostly high school students going on a school trip went off-course, hit something, and started sinking. The captain told the passengers to stay where they were, and he got into a lifeboat and made it back to land safely. Meanwhile, by the time the passengers were told to evacuate, it was too late.
Hundreds have been rescued, also hundreds aren't accounted for, and the death toll is rising. The ferry did end up completely underwater, but I read somewhere that it was being lifted.
Yeah, the captain did a bad thing, to say the least. Just when I think I've heard all about what he did wrong, I read something new.
