in Japan I threw away grease in a soup can
and the whole shi came out to yell at me.
now they all knew I did not speak Japanese
I could even say it in Japanese.
but they were to happy until I cried!
it was awful and I panicked recycling ever since

We have recycling here but it doesn't have to be sorted...In Nantucket because they are an island and don't want to make a landfill, and its cheaper to have the recycling separate when you're basically shipping it away, you have to sort paper, plastic, and glass, all cleaned and separate from trash.

I love the 'toss it all in the can' recycling
I think more people recycle that way

Ya we pay people good money here to separate that stuff for us with our taxes. Yay Canada! XD

I really didn't mind sorting my recycling. It also reminded me to rinse them out.

If I had to do it, it would be fine. But to me it's like taking away someones job.

I would agree with you hummy except here most recycling places are paid (and usually underpaid) by the municipality.
They run on bare-bones staff and all the recycling they do get, most goes into the trash anyway because more comes in and they still have to sort the last batch...

I agree but it does help more people recycle
too lazy to put a can or bottle in a separate
container to recycle but an all recycle can is easy

I mean, i guess. Alternatively people could just get more containers for trash and sort it as they throw it away. vOv I really didn't mind doing it like that, easy and eco-friendly!

I try to do what I can to prevent waste. :)
I use reusable grocery bags, (as stores charge you for plastic bags here in California) I use reusable cloth pads for my period and the occasional menstrual cup, I am vegan again, I recycle, we use a specific kind of light bulb that helps conserve energy.

I love being eco-friendly.

isn't it ridiculous how expensive recycled products are?
it is like sugar-free items, they are twice as much!

Yeah, sometimes. :C
My mom didn't want to buy the reusable paper towel because it was like $10 for 10 sheets and she thought that it was cheaper to buy normal paper towel and just use less of it. Normal paper towel cost about $5 for a roll of 30+ sheets.

I think if I could convince her that she'd save more money buy spending $10 for the reusable kind, then she'd be more likely to want to buy it.

I also thought that cloth pads can be pretty pricey, but you do save money in the long run by using cloth pads. I haven't bought pads since like three or four years ago! Sure, I spent about... Wow, maybe $100 on pads... But considering that I used to buy about a pack of pads a month, and each pack cost like... $6.50/pack, I would have spent about $78 in one year. So I paid $100 on pads one year, so I saved about $134! And each year I'll keep saving more and more money because I won't be wasting them on expensive pads and tampons. :D

But it really is ridiculous how expensive some things are! Like organic fruits and veggies. :c Or tofu meals over meat meals.
