What are some Kwanzaa books that read to your children, Liunesta?

As soon as the eldest gets up from nap, I can tell you. I'm pretty sure one is My First Kwanzaa Book. Bought them through Scholastic when I was preschool teacher assistant.

The other 2 are The Seven Days of Kwanzaa and Together For Kwanzaa.

Ava, when I was a boy in the 50s most black kids believed that they couldn't do anything or b anything cause they were black.
The point of black history month was to break that mind set.
It's morphed way yonder from its original intent.
I'm so sorry u had such a hard time.
My daddy was a product of his times in some ways.
But he believed that Everyone should have the right to work live and eat.
He was a hillbilly and In spite of all the hillbillies in the factories his best friend was a Cuban. I don't think I've been a bigoted person, but I know for sure in not now.
Check out my Grandson. I'll brain the 1st person to call him names

He's adorable, Ches!!!
How old is he now? I think he had a birthday recently, yes??

I'm definitely going to check out those books, Liunesta!
The only thing I can remember from Kwanzaa was only that it can coincide with Christmas (I learned that when I sang for a Kwanzaa celebration when I was 16) and then I learned a little bit of Kwanzaa from watching the Proud Family as a kid!! LOL.

I learned about Kwanzaa from my African American and other cultural studies class. (Side note, the class was sadly removed from our school.). One of my high school counselors celebrated Kwanzaa. She came to our class and talked about it. I used to have a mini set up that I would show my preschool class. I'd talk about the candles and the kinara. I think I may have gotten rid of it since I decided we wouldn't do Kwanzaa at our house. I still like Kwanzaa though. :)

It's the last day of Kwanzaa!

Today's principle is Imani (Faith). :)

I'm so glad you all sort of "celebrated" Kwanzaa with me in this thread. This was great. :D
I'll do this again next year, but hopefully with more bells and whistles.
