Luna wasn't your typical princess. She broke the rules, disobeyed her brother's, the king, decisions and got herself into all sorts of trouble. Most of it was fixable. She stayed in The Realm, just the parts she probably shouldn't have been in.

But not today. She had wondered into the store room of magical crafts and found a few portal cones. Tucking them into the pouch hanging from her slim waist she grinned and tiptoed out of the normally locked room. If her brother found out she would be toast. Never. Ever. Was anyone aloud to cross realms. It was forbidden now. Ever since the humans had forgotten of their existence, the Fae had decided it best to never go there again. Let their existence be thought of as merely myth and legend.

The princess wanted to see a human for herself. She had heard so many stories that fascinated her. Were they true? She just had to know! Going back to her room she tied her long pale hair back into a braid, her bangs hanging loose and in her bright icy eyes. She donned a vest and a pair of pants rather than the dresses she normally wore and then she laced up a pair of boots. Crystalline wings twitched at her back as she reached into the pouch at her hip. Slender fingers snapped the tip of one of the cones off and a swirling smoke engulfed her completely.

By the time the smoke faded she was standing surrounded by tall stalks of slender green. Grass? But... She was supposed to be...

Her thoughts were cut short by the loud rumbling sound of something behind her. Turning around the pale fairy say the large orange face or a furry cat staring down at her. She had shrunk? But the portals were meant to keep her normal sized! what had happened?! The cat pounced and she took off, her wings humming like a dragonfly's. AS the feline chased her she started to panic. "This was such a bad idea!" She dove around a bush and dipped under some kind of structure.

But then she smacked into something....springy. it bounced her back but didn't let her go. Luna struggled and squirmed but she was stuck in place. Glancing around she caught sight of a half wrapped grasshopper and what was left of a beautiful web... She was caught in a spider's web. "Shit."

Looking over her shoulder she saw the cat licking its mouth as it got ready to descend on her. Cat or spider, both were terrible ways to die.

A small grunt escaped from underneath the heavy blankets that lay sprawled out in the small room. The sun was already peeking through the corner of the window that had a nice view of his Grandmother’s garden. She tended to that gardens every need and made sure that it received all her love and attention. It wouldn’t have been much of a surprise if she wanted to be buried in it. The Old Woman should have been out there this very moment tending her precious garden. ‘She loves that patch of plants more than me…’ He thought as he rolled over smacking his head and knee against the wall. “God Da-“He hissed through his clenched teeth as he curled in on himself. “Ezra, are you up Dear?” His body stiffened as the sound of his Grandmother’s fragile voice calling out to him from the behind the wall. Surely she hadn’t been able to hear him a moment ago thrashing about, but that Old Woman’s hearing had seemed be the only thing to withstand the test of time. “I’m up, Grandmother.” He sighed as he sat up allowing his blankets to fall into a pool on his lap. “Good, breakfast is on the table.”
Sure enough a plate of breakfast had been sat out on his grandmother small kitchen table along with an assortment of other condiments that never seemed to be used, but that never stopped her from pulling them out. The daunting task of preparing himself for the day had left him starving to the point that his stomach threated to bust his ear drums with its demands for food. Maybe daunting was a bit too extreme to describe getting ready in the morning, but when your room is almost smaller than you are tall then it becomes a completely different task. The first few years after his parents’ death he had pestered his grandmother into giving him a bigger room, but of course that was out of the question for some odd reason. He’d learned to not fight with the Old Woman and let things be. She’d fix them if she really needed to.
Ezra breakfast seemed to disappear from his plate in an instant and he was left staring down at it with longing for more food. Grandmother never made extra, never. Even when he had told her he would eat it all no matter how much more she made. As much as he loved that Lady she drove him absolutely mad sometimes. He ran his hand through his auburn hair as he stood up scoping his plate and utensils up to wash in the sink. Last thing he need was a good talking to for leaving thing unwashed. His tall frame stood awkwardly in front of his Grandmother’s sink. It’s become apparent to him that when this house was built it wasn’t meant for a six foot four boy, but rather petite old women. “Pebbles! Oh Pebbles, no … Ezra, Pebbles has escaped again can you go fetch him?”
That damned cat had caused him enough misery through the years, didn’t it ever get tired of tormenting him. The orange fury ball wasn’t even a kitten anymore yet it insisted on acting like one. Ezra pulled on a pair of sneakers and ran out the back door and out of the fenced in area. He could see an orange blob sleeking along the tall grass line leading into the woods behind the house. Ezra sighed in annoyance as he ran off after the cat. He hadn’t dressed for chase at cat through woods this morning, but he’d learned to at least wear jeans in case of this matter ever arose, which it did often. Some branches and tall bushes brushed his bare arms as he moved further into the wooded area after the feline.
He broke through into a small clear and found the cat hunched over ready to pounce of something that was clearly catching his attention at the moment. Probably a mouse or some other small animal that might be a tasty snack for the feline, Erza walked up the cat and kneeled down next to it. “Hey you, what you are you looking at?” He asked as he slowly began to look in the direction the cat was. His eyes catch sight of a blue pair of wings stuck in a spider’s web. ‘A butterfly? ‘He thought as he leaned in closer blinking his blue-green as he tried to focus in on the brightly colored set of wings.

(Sorry it took me so long I kept getting distracted by stupid things. <__< )

Large furry and clawed appendages swatted at her, they hit the web, bouncing her about like she was glued to a trampoline. Which in essence she was. Luna could feel her heart pounding in her chest as the giant animal hissed and stared at her. It was playing with her before it got ready to devour her. Great, she was some creatures toy, what a way for a princess to go. Closing her icy blue eyes she cringed back as far as she could and just waited for that final bite to sever her from this world. Goodbye Realm, Goodbye brother...

Then she heard a deep resounding voice and her bright eyes snapped open. A small gasp escaped her as she stared up at the human that hunched down to tame her vicious attacker. Pale white bangs fell over her eyes as she froze. She didn't realize how small she would be with the portal malfunction. He was huge. The fae could feel her heart rate picking up as a whole new wave of panic started to set in. If she was discovered if could potentially cause all sorts of problems. For one thing, her brother may start another war with the humans... forsake the long term peace they had going.

She started to tremble, her wings quivering against the web as she stared up at the massive figure above her. I really am going to die here aren't I... She thought to herself. Then with a surge of courage the princess wouldn't let herself resign to that fate. she fought and yanked and ripped her limbs as hard as she could against the web, making the whole thing tremble and shudder.

A low growl came from the fur ball sitting next Ezra as the thing held captive in the web began to panic and fight hard to escape its fate. He reached behind him and picked the cat up placing it further behind him and out of sight of the web and its captive. “Calm down, Pebbles. It’s just a butterfly; I doubt it would taste all that well anyway.” He patted the soft fur on the feline’s head and turned his attention back to the winged creature.

He reached out and delicately pinched the wings between his fingers and pulled. The web didn’t want to give up the catch it had made and ended up coming with engulfing the wigs even more. ‘Well, that didn’t work as planned.’ He thought with a scowl as he looks down at the now web covers wigs. “Sorry…” He said softly though he didn’t entirely know why he had to apologize to this insect. It wasn’t like it would care or remember any of this after it was freed. He pinched down on the web with her free hand and pulled freeing a good portion of the wings free of most of the web. He smiled at his handy work and brought the creature closer to his face for a better inspection. It was a rather big butterfly, but it wasn’t like Ezra had been an insect fanatic.

His eyes began to focus on the figure of a …Girl? He clenched his eyes shut and shook his head lightly. A few strands of his hair rested in front of his eyes, but he ignored them as he opening his eyes again to look at the wings and the body attached to them. Yeah, that’s the figure of a girl … He thought as he stared for a moment before it actually sunk in and register. “Shi-“ He said dropping the winged creature as he fell backwards on to his bottom. A low hiss came from behind him as Pebbles regained sight and interested in the tiny creature that was now must easier to capture. An orange ball of fur launched itself at the wings peeking out from the grass. Ezra’s quick reflexes were the only that saved it from a very unfortunate death. “You can’t eat that. You really can’t eat that.” He said softly as he continued to stare at the wings.

Luna squirmed and flailed against the sticky web as she fought for freedom. but it was useless. Nothing seemed to be able to get her loose. Then she froze. A massive hand descended upon her and pinched her sensitive wings together tangling the web around them further. A small cry came from her as a sharp pain shot between her shoulder blades. Her bright eyes couldn't hold back a few tears as she kicked and flailed between his fingers. Every movement sent another sharp pain into her back but she tried to ignore it. She had to get him to release her!

. He tugged on the web and her wings more and Luna had to supress the urge to scream. Wings were so sensative, and this was torture having him try to peel the web from them. But at least one was free for the most part by the time he was done. AS he lifted her, it was such a sudden rush or wind but then she was there, right before his face. She stopped moving. Staring straight at him. Her bright eyes locked with his in a moment that seemed to last forever as her heart thudded like a jack hammer in her chest

Then he dropped her. Luna screamed as she fell the long way down to the grass. She tried to open her wings up and fly but her wing was still too in the heavy with web she couldn't get it to flap properly. She smacked hard into the ground after an awkward spiral, the wind being knocked from her lungs. The princess coughed as she tried to pushed herself up off her face. As she heard the cat behind her, her eyes grew wide and she tried scrambling to her feet, but before she was consumed the cat was restrained once more. Luna started sprinting, as fast as she could, shoving grass out of her way to put as much distance as she could between her and the human and that cat. She headed towards a bush, maybe the branches could help conceal her.

He had seen her. He knew exactly what she was, this wasn't good. "Have to get away... have to get away.... have to get away..." She kept repeating between panted breaths as she ran.

A high pitch shrill came from the area that he had dropped the little girl-creature-thing. He still didn’t quite understand what it was exactly, but he knew it wasn’t something you just commonly find in your woods. At least it wasn’t the last time he had checked, maybe he shouldn't have venture out more often. The cat cradled in his arms was protesting and trying to free its self from its captor at the moment. It was a relief that Pebbles had been de-clawed as a kitten or else Ezra’s arms would have been a hot mess at this point.

A sharp needle like pressure followed, but a tingling sensation told him to snap out of his little daze of watching the little set of wings below him and deal with the angry cat in his arms. “Damn, Pebbles.” He cursed as he threw that cat off of him and examined his now bleeding arm. It wasn’t bad, but it sure did sting. He couldn’t nurse his arm for long before he noticed Pebbles running off after something. “Shit… “He said as he stood up quickly looking to see what had caught the cat’s attention. Sure enough the grass seemed to be being parted like something was pushing it out of the way and a pair of wings became visible through the blades of grass. Insect didn't move like that or at least ones with wings didn't. Well, they also didn't look like girls ... He was getting no where with his idol thoughts. Clearly it wasn't something he had ever seen before.

“Pebbles stop!” He demanded, knowing that the cat wasn’t going to listen to him at this point, but it was always worth a shot. It wasn’t like it wasn’t going to hurt anything, well in this case it just might. What it might hurt though was an unknown. He launched himself into a sprint trying to make up the space that the Cat and Creature had put between him and themselves. Being as tall as he was his legs were pretty long and covered the distance easily in a few strides.

He stopped blocking the way of the orange fur ball and was given a hiss as the cat bumped into his legs. “Should have listened to me,” He said smugly before he realized in paying more attention to the cat he could have easily stepped on the little winged-girl. He pushed the cat further away before he spun on his heels to kneel down and inspect the area that he had just been standing in. “Don’t you dare try to get past me.” He warned the cat over his shoulder, but it seemed to still be shaking off the little impact with his legs. He turned his attention back the grass and lowered his face closer to the grass to get a better look around.

A shadow covered Luna and the whole area she was running in. Stopping mid stride she turned around just in time to see a giant foot come rushing down towards her. Diving out of the way, she hit the ground with a grunt and rolled onto her side, looking up at the human. For now he was holding the cat at bay but he was likely to kill her on accident if he wasn't careful.

It seemed the human realized this as he knelt down, this time his knee almost landed on her. Luna scrambled to her feet and again dove out of the way. Sliver strands fell loose from her braid and hung in her face as she pushed her self up to her feet. "Are you trying to kill me?" She shouted up at him. "First you save me. Then you sick your cat on me, then you save me, then you try to step on me... make up your mind!" She let out a frustrated scream. Then instantly her porcelain pale features turned a bright red as she clamped her hands over her face. What in the world was she thinking yelling at a human?!?

She turned and tried to sprint away again, shoving the grass out of her way as fast as she could. If only her wing wasn't so sticky she could fly. It would be so much easier to hide in a tree. There she would have to worry about birds and squirrels, but no humans. Panting for breath she tried to run faster, but being so small she wasn;t covering much ground.

He looked around in the blades of grass for any sign of the little wings, but he couldn’t find them. He frowned deeply as he continued to look around not ready to give up hope just yet. Why am I still looking for this thing? He thought for a moment as he stared blankly at the ground. I must be going crazy, yeah. I must not have gotten enough sleep. He laughed nervously to himself as he rubbed his forehead with his hand. He had just decided to give up his search for the mysterious creature when a sounded snapped him back.

It wasn’t loud enough or even clear enough for him to understand what it might be, but it did give him a direction to focus in. He scanned the area a few inches in front of him and surely enough there was a pair of wings peeking out the top of the blades of grass. How he had missed something so close to him was beyond him, but he didn’t have time to dwell on it before they darted off again.

He blinked his blue-green eyes at it watching the grass part like water for the pair of wings and their owner. He reached out quickly before it got out of his arms reach placing his hand in front of its path before scoping it up into his hand. I’ll just determine whether I’m crazy or not. He thought as he cupped the wings and their owner in his hand.

Sure enough he was left looking at the figure of a girl with wings on her back, again.

She ran but it wasn't fast enough. Shadow swallowed her as a large hand descended upon her and blocked her path. Then before Luna could even fully stop she smacked into the soft skin of his palm and fell into his hand as he scooped her up. Cupping her in his hands she pressed against his fingers and tried to find some crack between his fingers to slip through but it was no use. As he lifted her from the ground, the fairy toppled off balance and fell over in his hands. Unable to stand she had nothing to to but just sit and resign to her fate of being squashed between his fingers or being captured.

She tried fluttering her wings agin but still, they were useless at this pint. Damn web had done far more damage than she realized. When she could finally see the human's face, Luna froze. She just sat there, staring up at his huge eyes from behind her pale hair. Trembling slightly she couldn't see to calm her racing heart as she looked up at the giant figure.

But after a few long moments she managed to find the courage to shout. "Let me go!"

The noise he had heard just a few moments ago came again, but this time it was very defined and sounded like words. That’s because it was words you idiot, he thought to himself. The little voice was audible this time to his ears, because she, it was closer to him. He was left blankly staring at the little winged-girl in his hands, but really he didn’t know what else to do. He was almost certain he was going insane, absolutely nuts at the moment. Maybe one of his friends would jump out and tell him it was all a joke and he was such an idiot for falling for something like this. Yeah, that’s what would happen.

His blue-green eyes looked hesitantly at the wooded area around him to try and confirm his suspicions, but he couldn’t point out anything that would say he was being staged. He swallowed the lump that had been growing in his throat and looked back down at the girl with slightly wide eyes. Okay, I’m just holding a mini winged-girl, a fairy. No, they don’t exist maybe you’re still dreaming. He shook his head lightly tousling his hair making a few strands of his hair settle in his face. If he’d been a sleep the bite he had received from Pebbles wouldn’t hurt so damn much.

He could just leave the thing here and never come back out into the woods again. That seemed like an excellent idea. In fact he began to lower his hand to drop the little girl, but stopped in mid-motion. It had been pure luck that he hadn't turned his hand far enough to knock her off. It would just bug him to no end if he left like this. He wanted to know if he was insane or not. If he left he might end up like one of those old to middle-aged men, who claim they’ve seen Bigfoot or UFOs. He frowned deeply at the thought of being considered senile at such a young age.

Well, that left one last option. Talk to the fairy, winged-girl, whatever you would refer to something like this as. She seemed to be able to talk. He finally brought his complete attention back to her as he stared down at her. He must have looked afraid, frustrated, and confused at the moment. “…What are you? …” He asked hesitantly thinking he might just be talking to nothing.

She stared up at him from her position in his hands but he didn't seem to realize what she was. Frowning she kicked at his fingers in frustration but he didn't seem to notice. Finally he seemed to almost want to let her go. Yes! She thought excitedly as she prepared to jump from his hand to the ground, but just before she was within a safe distance He pulled his hands back up.

Icy blue eyes stared up at him as his hair hung down over the large orbs that stared down at her. Crossing her arms over the vest that concealed the curve of her chest and sat down on his palm, her sticky wings twitching behind her. When the bewildered creature finally started speaking she stared at him for a long moment.

"I'm a fairy." She said shortly, infuriated that it actually came down to this. This isn't exactly how she wanted this encounter to go. Quite frankly she hadn't wanted an encounter, she had just wanted to see a human and go back home. "Do the pointy ears and little wings not spell that out for you, human?" She grabbed his index finger to stabilize herself as she stood. "Please...." The anger and sarcasm dissipated from her voice. "Let me go." She asked him weakly.

He felt a small bit of pressure against one of his fingers where she had kicked him, but it did faze him or pose as a real threat. He just continued his dumb-founded stare down at her as she stood in the palm of his hand. What else was there really to do? Logically this wasn’t just something someone would run into, ever.

After a few moments of his seemingly idiotic state he seemed to be coming around slowly. His brain didn’t seem to be a jumbled as it was before, but he still had irrational thoughts buzzing about in there. Such as how the hell a little girl with wings was in his hand. That seemed to be the biggest one or at least the one screaming at him. He watched her move about on his hand until she sat down. He blinked slowly a few times.

Fairy…Yeah…That seemed to be logically…Somehow. His brain wasn’t going to fight this at the moment; it wasn’t willing to put up that fight at the moment. A frown began to form as he heard her sarcastic remark. He didn’t say anything in return, because she did have a point. His frown faded as he looked around after her request for Pebbles, who was still lurking about. “The cat will get you as soon as I let you go, you okay with that?” He asked with a raise of his eyebrow. Not that he wouldn’t help her like he had been.
