Yeah. These were good, but I would have liked a bit of sour cream with them.

It does, but also it doesn't. It doesn't have any basil or other "Italian" seasonings. Just the onions, garlic and a bit of salt and pepper. But I feel like it's one of those dishes that every family is going to make completely differently. My grandparents like to put bell peppers in theirs, but I never do. They like mushrooms in it, but it doesn't occur to them to add them.

But there are a lot of Italians around here. So you get these weird restaurants where you'll get a meal like, roasted chicken with salad, bread, and french fries, and then they shove a bowl of pasta with marinara sauce on the table. And stuffed shells and cheese is seen as a traditional holiday food.

I'm always a little overwhelmed when I go out for pho and they bring me a giant branch of basil leaves. I don't need that many x_x I just need to tear off a few leaves and toss them in and call it a day.

oooh i love pho. i love mixing in all the extra stuff, that's the best part. i haven't had pho in forever, i need to go have it again... maybe once it gets colder outside.

Yeah, I haven't had pho in a while. I usually go into Boston to get the good stuff. We tried a pho place around here that a lot of people recommended and it was just meh. There is a ramen place downtown I need to try though.

i haven't had any pho since i moved to New York, so i don't know any of the good places like i did in Colorado! i pass this one place on my bus route every day though, so maybe i'll try there first... and i've never been to a ramen place! :'( i've always wanted to go to one, but i just never see them.

Are you in NYC or another part of New York? Not that I have pho recommendations for NYC, but I could ask my friend.

I don't think I've been to a strictly ramen joint either, but I've had ramen in a few Japanese restaurants. The place downtown is strictly ramen, though it's not a traditional place. I've heard good things though. Maybe I'll grab lunch there during RI Comic Con.

Rolled Chicken Tacos

was scrolling for my last post. saw this. now hungry.

it looked like tacos sprinkled over a... egg. roll... OMG i have a food invention i now want to try. i just need to get my wok back from my parents before they move out of state with it.

I miss taco belles rolled chicken taco

They were rolled chicken tacos from some little food truck. It was chicken rolled up and fried inside a corn tortilaa, then they put lettuce in the bottom of the boat and cheese, tomatoes and jalapenos on top. My only wish was that it had a little bit of sour cream on it.
