You must have clicked this thread because
you want to help this poor chick out.
You see, I have moved away from the whole anime thing.
I will admit that I miss it dearly.
So, to get back in the swing of things,
I was hoping you might come to my rescue.

Yaoi. Yuri. Those are the main things.
I also dislike poorly drawn characters.
If it looks like a two-year-old drew it,
I don't want to see it.
And, on that topic,
I don't like baby animes.
I want something with a plot.

Nothing? Now I find that hard to believe!

Hey there! The last anime I finished watching was Yumeiro Patissiere, and I fell in love with it. Definitely more shoujo, girly, and cutesy, but there was definitely comedy and romance. Judging from your first post, I'm not sure if you'd like it as much, though. Tsubasa and Fruits Basket are definitely recommended, as well. Tsubasa is CLAMP fantasy, and Fruits Basket is a cute storyline about the Chinese Zodiac personified into humans (animals!).

I've been told I need to watch Fruits Basket and Tsubasa. Ha ha.
And Yumeiro Patissiere. I've never heard of it. Where would I find it - what sites?

Yumeiro Patissiere is fairly new--about a group of kids studying to be pastry chefs and they all have little guardian faeries.
You can find it easily on YouTube or Crunchyroll, I think.

But yes, Tsubasa and Fruits Basket are definitely a must :P

It was super cute. There are two seasons, I believe. Yumeiro Patissiere and Yumeiro Patissiere Professional. No spoilers, but there's a couple that's obvious from the beginning, and the romance is somewhat fulfilled in the second season. I'm still crossing my fingers for a third season, hehe. Have you ever watched Ouran High School Host Club? I noticed it on your list, but wasn't sure if you watched it.

Yuppers. Loved Ouran. It was adorable. :3

I saw someone recommended Tsubasa; I watched the entire anime and it was cute.... But if you want to get into that series READ THE MANGA! The anime, excluding the six tokyo revelation episodes, was entirely geared towards young children, and while cute, deviated greatly from the manga and stopped after only two seasons. The manga remained entirely epic and amazing and I highly recommend the series. It's a fantasy adventure you'll fall in love with.

Also, it ran along side of XXXholic- so if you liked that you'll like Tsubasa- it's like the other half of the story.

If you liked Code Geass, perhaps you'd like Higurashi or Umineko. If you're squeamish, then never mind, because both shows have a lot of blood and gore; however, like Geass, they're psychological thrillers that make you think, and if you like that sort of thing you'll be hooked. The same thing is true about a series called Shiki- it's a great series as well.

I could list a crapload of others too. Like King of Thorn or Doubt, but then I'd get on a huge rant.

By all means, go for it! The more I can expose myself to, the better. Besides, I like have options. :]

Well, in the case of King of Thorn, it's actually a movie; however, like Tsubasa, it's a series where the manga is much much better. It really keeps you hooked right on through because it's filled with action and mystery. The movie was still good, don't get me wrong, but the manga is much more in depth.

Doubt I don't think was ever made into an anime, but it's a short read- only 20 chapters or so- and it's really good. Keeps you guessing right on to the end.

Superior is another good manga series- I've never checked to see if it was made into an anime, so I don't know. However, it's a cute love story with a mixture of fantasy and adventure mixed in. Basically about a hero who was sent to kill the demon queen, he ended up saving a demon, who started following him on his journey and eventually fell in love with him, and he for her... He doesn't realize that she is the demon queen who he's searching to kill....

Tsukihime is another good one. It's an anime with only 12 episodes, but it's pretty good- basically about a guy who can kill anyone or anything because he can perceive death- literally see it with his own two eyes. It's another psychological one. The manga is longer though....

If you've never seen any of the .hack series I also highly recommend that; it's got many different installments and is filled with a wide variety of exciting fantasy, adventure, and even romance. It's also extremely interesting plot wise as time goes on.

Saiyuki is a great adventure sort of series too. However, the anime was discontinued after three or so seasons even though it was very good. So that might change your desire to watch it- it's a great show though.

Chrono Crusade is also a great show. It has a sad ending, but it's a beautiful romance that just gets more epic as time goes on. A demon no longer has his horns, and so he can't access his demonic powers; a human girl makes a contract with him, so that he can use his abilities, but doing so will suck out her soul. Together they're trying to rescue her brother- who was kidnapped by demons many years ago.

There's a lot of great series XD

Puella Magi Madoka Magica. <3 It's a take on the magical girl - - but so freaking amazing. And well animated as well.

If you're looking for a comedy & action anime, you should try 'Angel Beats!' It has a good plot, but it only has 13 official episodes. There's only an English dub at the moment, so you'd have to have subtitles if you don't mind them. I don't know, watch the first episode and see if you're interested. >w<;
