Naru's ears twitched but he mostly ignored the man below them. His attention on Sophia, concern and an eagerness to help her in his eyes. Of course his attention did turn from her when he heard the other climbing up. That soft expression full of concern turned to one of sour annoyance as the man's head popped into view. Naru thought of shoving him off the rock, but he quickly shoved that thought away, he didn't really want to cause any permanent harm to the other.

His fox tail twitched in agitation behind him as he moved to place himself between Sophia and the stranger. Completely blocking her from the other's view, it was a protective gesture, and Naru's eyes narrowed slightly. "No one told you to come nosing about up here." Those ears were laying flat against his head again, and he scowled at the man. "Go back down there." He made a shooing motion with his hands, then crossed his arms across his chest, watching the other expectantly. Naru's expression seemed to say, 'Well hurry up and go away, now'.

Adax turned his attention back to the other when he slid into his view, eyes narrowing lightly. "Whatever you say, fox-boy," he hissed before, with a grunt, he released his grip and plummeted, landing on his feet with a thud and slightly pained grunt. Jarred his ankles pretty hard there. He was getting far too old for this. And he wasn't even that old. "If she needs any medicine just yell at me. I may not look like much but I am nothing if not a competent alchemist," he called before turning and limping slightly toward his figurine and the knife. He plopped town and massaged his ankles before grabbing the wood and blade and continuing to whittle, ignoring the absent minded whispers leaking out of the gourd's stopper. They whispered something about fox blood but he refused to listen for too long. Listening for too long caused terrible things. Made him do terrible, horrible things.

((sorry been ill >.<))

Sophia shuddered at his question, not quite able to answer him. She knew tonight she would need to feed, there was no putting it off any longer. The fact she would have an audience just made it all the worse but there was nothing she could do. As her companion shooed the other away she would simply half hide behind him with her hands wrapped around his arm. She didn't mean to squeeze quite as hard as she did... but she did indeed squeeze. It was a combination of her natural shyness and her hunger and the second it would be enough to cause pain she would feel it.

The energy rushed through her fingertips like sparks of electricity and pushed all the way to her chest. She could feel it as if it was bouncing around in her chest, making her heart beat faster. Her eyes briefly widened and she pushed the thought away, not even able to speak as the two conversed. She said nothing as the alchemist went back down, her body still shivering. She hid in Haru's arm the entire time, only moving as the alchemist was out of sight. Instantly she would pull ehr hands away, almost yanking them away from his arm and stepping away.

"Sorry...that must have hurt. I'm sorry ..... and you don't need to be so mean to him" She muttered as she had so many times before, even as she knew her skin had gained a slightly healthier hue from just the slightest bit of pain on his arm. She slumped to her knees, sighing softly a moment. She couldn't really move a moment as she simply looked down. would the alchemist notice? She looked up at Haru with a helpless expression a moment. Why he thought so much of her she wouldn't know....

Naru turned his nose up slightly when the stranger mentioned medicine. There was no medicine for Sophia, no medicine but Naru. He had grunted slightly when she squeezed his arm a bit too tightly, but it was only a light sound. The pain had been a bit unexpected, but still somewhat welcome even though it had hurt. Sophia needed it. Naru's body relaxed a bit when the other was finally gone from sight and when Sophia began speaking, he turned his full attention to her.

His expression soft, and kind when his eyes met hers. Slight smile on his lips. "You don't need to apologize." A part of him wanted her to do more than simply squeeze his arm painfully. A part of him craved punishment even though he didn't really enjoy it. He deserved it, whatever pain and more she could put him through, he deserved. None of that showed in his expression as he watched her, shaking his head slightly. "He shouldn't have been bothering us, bothering you." His ears twitched a bit, listening for any movement from the one below their rock.

Naru knelt on the ground in front of Sophia, watching her closely for a few moments. His hand reaching out so he could rest his palm gently against her cheek. Even from that small bit of pain she had inflicted on him, she already looked much better. "I'm always here, so take whatever you need, whenever you need it. You shouldn't hesitate, you shouldn't push yourself so hard." He withdrew his hand, letting it rest on the top of her head for a few moments. As if he were comforting a small child, but it wasn't a gesture meant to patronize her.

((Oh it's quite alright! Illness is terrible and I'm glad you seem to be feeling better!))

He could hear their faint murmurs, hushed whispers and quiet tones. But who was actually talking was lost on Adax now. The gourd was persistent, the fetid mass within assaulting his mind and ears with disgusting whispers. He continued to carve, hands starting to shake violently as he attempted to ignore the invasive whispers. It was a slashing pain in his hand and a hiss from his lips that finally silenced them. Whispering continued but it was behind him and up the rock so he could only imagine those two were talking. He grumbled as he looked at his hand, a jagged slice along his thumb from where his had been cut open from his hand slipping along the wood. Oh well. He would have had to bless it in blood sooner or later. Giving it a taste of Life early on would probably only increase the power it had.

He placed the little figure to the side and pressed the corner of his cloak to his hand, soaking up the blood as he clumsily removed his canteen and a roll of gauze from his bag with one hand. After a few moments the wound was cleaned and wrapped, his eyes wander to the many light scars along his arm from the countless....accidents the gourd had caused. He sighed before placing the half finished figurine and knife into the bag they came from. He cast a glance toward the rock again before sighing once again through his nose. He should...probably be on his way. The fox creature had no interest in him and that sick girl had seemed....frightened. He didn't blame her but it still hurt in a way. Despite the constant company the gourd provided he was still rather lonely. And that was almost as heavy a curse as his own stupid mistakes.
