\\>More things to know<//
--> In Cayriel you can find any creature you can imagine.
--> Anything is a possibility.
--> It has a medieval-like time setting.
--> Any race is a possibility. (Elves, demons, fairies, vampires, orcs, centaurs, dwarves, dryad, humans, dragons, sorceresses, witches, shape shifters, skin walkers, werewolves, mages, wizards, ect)
--> The currency is gold, silver, and copper coins. Gold being that most valuable, followed by silver, and then copper.
--> More will be added here over time.

Cayriel is a magical and a fantasy world. The creatures that freely roam the lands are widely varied. One will find any fantasy creature they can think of inhabiting Cayriel. To the south there are tropical enchanted forests, warm beaches and bright waters. The eastern half of Cayriel holds thick and lush enchanted forests, the western half has some forests, but mostly large fields, a desert, and is much hotter. To the north of Cayriel there are tundras, snowy plains and mountains, and leafless forests. Every climate in Cayriel are home to mountains, caves, lakes, waterfalls, pits, ect.

Cayriel has several castles located throughout the land that are ruled by royal families. Around the castles are somewhat large villages with large markets, more merchants and jobs than the smaller villages that are scattered throughout Cayriel.

Jobs in the cities can include the following: knights, millers, small farmers, merchants, sewers, shoe makers, bakers, inventors, swords for hire, village "police", shop owners, ect.

Outside the large villages, there are large lakes, ponds, small hamlets and large farms. Many folks that do not live in the main towns will hunt for a living or raise their own food. This also earns them extra gold coins if they sell their meats and produce in the large cities.

The snowy castle to the North.

The Elven village to the East.

The castle to the West.

The castle to the South East.

Smaller villages in the enchanted forests.

Random images of Cayriel.

Your imagination is your best tool for this roleplay.

Most nights she can be found up in a tree outside of the elven village where her father and paternal half-brother watch over her. Without a mother figure in her life Gwen can be rough around the edges, very direct, independent and does not act like a lady. Her greatest enjoyment is causing her half-brother problems and being the center of attention, that she usually obtains by misbehaving and breaking rules.
From: The Southern Kingdom
Background: Gwen is not afraid to call herself a bastard child since she was the outcome of her fathers one-night stand with a human. Her mother had passed away only a few years after giving birth to Gwen having tried her hardest to create a sustainable life for the both of them. It hadn't been long before Gwen found herself at the doorstep of her fathers home an angst filled and angry child over everything that had occurred. At first her father didn't know what to do and no matter how hard he tried Gwen would never give him the chance to get close and she still didn't accept him as her father. Even if her bond with her father never occurred she became very close to her half-brother who taught her whatever she wanted. Her half-brother Thaenin always had her back and taught her how to fight the second he learned that she got bullied by the other elven kids. When it comes to people he cares about he is extremely protective and will put his life on the line for them. With his desire to protect his loved ones he practiced his swordsmanship so nothing would ever come to harm the people he loves. Thaenin didn't want to stop there though, because he is incredibly driven and ambitious he practiced many arts of fighting to become a sought out mercenary.
From: The Elven Village
Background: Thaenin grew up a spoiled little boy with both his parents present in the early years of his life and no siblings he had to worry about. It wasn't until Thaenin was 8 when his mother passed away due to illness that Thaenin lived with only his distraught father. By the age of 12 did Thaenin then have to accept a 4 year old sister into his life. At first he couldn't stand his sister Gwen because his father spent so much time with her but as he got to know her that soon changed. Gwen's lack of acceptance for his father made Thaenin accept her since she wasn't stealing his attention. From that day a strong bond had formed between them and as their father grew ill Thaenin took it upon himself to provide for the family finding his way into mercenary work. No one knows of his profession killing people for money and he doesn't ever plan on them finding out.

Rhode strode through a small creek in the enchanted forest with her long, brown, horse-like-legs, and her long tail getting soaked behind her. Continuing up the creek she saw small lush bushes filled with purple coloured berries. Starving, she galloped towards the little green and purple bushes, sets down her bow and quiver full of poison tipped arrows, and indulges herself. "These are awfully sweet," she whispers to herself. She collects a few to save for the long and lonely night ahead of her.

She's always wondered what it is like to be in a castle, or even the marketplace for once. On the edge of the forest she's only seen what it's like, but never has been. "I'm just so tired of being alone.." she sighed. Too frightened to approach the marketplace, Rhode simply stays in the forest, isolated, only coming in contact with anyone who tried to steal any of the supplies she had gathered. If only someone from a castle, would discover her...

The sun is beginning to set, and she is trying to find a place to take refuge for the night. With the berries still with her, she covers them up with leaves to save for the morning. It's dark, and she can hear everything. Everything from the sound of her breath to the sound of insects making their way up the bark of the trees. She clamps her eyes shut, and embraces the sounds of nature as she falls into a deep and well needed sleep.

(I know I haven't posted yet, guys. But bear with me. I definitely will here soon!)

---------- Post added 09-30-2013 at 04:23 AM ----------

The morning sun streamed through the open window in the princess' room, warming the rocky floors, where a large black wolf lied. He stretched his long back legs and yawned as he soaked in the warming sun. "You silly, creature." Vivian smiled at her wolf friend and began combing out her hair. Today she planned on going for a walk outside the castle grounds. Her father never liked his daughter leaving the castle, but she refused to stay inside. Her free spirit always kept her exploring and getting into trouble, but no harm had ever befallen on her thanks to her wolf, Tamashi.

"Are you ready to go out, boy? Today is going to be a long day out there. I plan on staying out in the forest until the sun sets." She continued chattering away to the wolf and he simply nodded and occasionally whined. "But, don't worry, I will pack us some lunch. Besides you can just go and catch a rabbit or something." Grinning, Vivian dressed herself in a strong, green velvet gown and brown leather boots that laced up to her knees. Gathering a bow and a set of areas, she fastened them onto her back and opened to door that led out of her bed chambers. Tamashi followed his master as she made her way down the spiraling staircase and headed down the hall to the large kitchen. Her personal cook, Mae, had already made up her breakfast and put together a large lunch.

"Already headed out, miss?" Mae asked as she watched Vivian quickly finish her breakfast. "Well, your lunch is over there and I'll have it packed up right away."

The rest of the day went by smoothly. Vivian had gathered her lunch, left the castle grounds and been roaming the forests. She enjoyed being free of the guards, of the other royal families, and most of all of her parents who were constantly pressuring her about marriage lately. Glancing over at Tamashi, she cocked her head and smiled when she noticed him carrying his lunch, an unfortunate rabbit that had crossed him. "Well, I told you." She chuckled, "I'm in the mood for those berries again. Their sweetness is just what I'm craving."

Vivian then made her way to the spot where she knew many bushes of the dark colored berries grew. As she approached the bushes, she pulled out an empty glass bottle and begins filling it with the sweet fruit. Then a twig snapping could be heard somewhere nearby. "Tama! Come here, boy. Stay close." She ordered her wolf who obediently strode to her side, licking the blood from his muzzle from his lunch. Vivian's pale green eyes searched the trees for any sign of life.

Down by the stream a figure could be seen crouching by the water, basket's surrounding them filled to the brim with mother nature. You had flowers and leaves. Herbs of all sorts and things you couldn't even name because they were so rare. The figure stood up and suddenly the two huge jugs she had been filling up with water and all of the basket's began to float around her. Turning around she started walking up the bank the baskets and jugs floating behind her.

The tall women was currently singing softly to herself as she made her way back home. She was dressed in high wasted pants that tied in the front, they were the color of fresh dirt. The tight pants were tucked into calf length brown leather skinned boots, the soles made a certain way so she made no sound as she walked. Her top was long sleeved, loose and it was tucked into her pants. It had a v neck and was the color of dark green leaves. Her blood red wavy hair was loose and came to her lower back. On each side of her head near her temples she had two small braids, tied together at the back of her head with a small piece of vine, causing her pointed ears to show. Her eyes were a stunning shade of yellow green. They seemed to glow as you gazed upon them and they were framed with long thick dark lashes. She had a smattering of freckles across the nose and cheeks and her skin was a golden brown.

After walking quite away's she came upon a large cottage house that seemed to be coming out of an extremely large and tall tree. The cottage was surrounded by a magnificent garden and a white picket fence. The Elvin woman came to a stop before the fence as she did everyday. Just so she could take in the beautiful sight. It wasn't a regular place for her, the place was a sanctuary for the kind hearted and any creature was allowed. The woman smiled and breathed out a simple word, "home." Opening up the gate she stepped in and with a flick of her wrist sent her supplies into the house to be put away. She was a strange kind, half Elf and half witch. There wasn't many of her kind, none she had met so far.

As she walked through her garden she was greeted by the little pixies and fairies that called her gardens home. They flew around her head laughing their laughs of twinkling little bells. Shooing them all off she walked into the cottage and to the back where a hidden door resided. Opening up the door you could see why her house looked like it was coming out of the tree, because it was. The inside of the tree was completely hollow and had a pulley system to take you up to the very top of the tree. Everything was magically made and as long as she lived it would continue to work. After shooting up what seemed like a million stories high the platform came to a stop and she stepped out into a gigantic tree house. Being a nature Elf gave her the ability to control nature, which was how the tree was grown. Being a witch got her everything extra. But it wasn't as simple as it sounded. It took her decades to become such a powerful witch. The cottage at the bottom was for her business and housed those that did not have a home at the moment. The tree house though was completely hers and not something she shared with most. It was cloaked magically so no one could see it from the ground and no one could enter without her permission. Grabbing the only remaining basket out of the air she took it over to a large table sitting in front of a cabinet and set it down. This basket was filled with important and very rare herbs. She always kept those safely up in her tree house instead of down in the cottage where anyone could get to them. After putting everything in the basket away she used the platform to head back downstairs. Once there she ventured outside to work in her garden with the garden fairies.

((sorry for such a lame opening post. ))

Dorcas lounged lazily on a large branch of a willow tree her crystal ball floating around her. Just a few short days ago she had reunited with her friend Xavier. The pair had decided to travel together for a while. It seemed strange for them to be together after not having seen each other for almost four years. With a yawn she took a glance downwards to where her friend sat, sleeping. A grin formed on her lips as she watched the male sleeping below her. She quietly got out of the willow and moved to Xavier’s side. She made sure that he was still asleep before proceeding with her devilish plan. Using her dark magic she bound him so he wasn’t able to move. With another grin she walked off to set the rest of her plan into motion.

Once by the river the woman waited a few moments before using her magic once more. This time creating an illusion that would be triggered by her dear friend once he entered the small clearing. This shall be so much fun. I wonder how Xavier is going to react. She was sure that his reaction would be splendid. After all her trap would show her something she needed to know about the man. In her mind their reunion had been a little awkward. She just couldn’t shake this feeling and her crystal ball was only telling her gibberish. Without wasting more time the woman set her plan into motion by letting out a scream. Then she hid in a nearby tree to watch. It wouldn’t be long now. Or so she thought since the binds she used on Xavier weren’t too strong.

It had been a long night. Xavier had stayed on guard for most of it, not letting himself sleep until he was sure that the man who had been following him until about week ago was nowhere around. He was in a deep sleep by the time that his friend Dorcas awoke. The man didn’t hear her getting out of the willow where he slept at the base of or her casting a spell on him. He awoke to a scream, a very familiar one. “Dorcas,” he yelled as he attempted to get to his feet only to find he couldn’t move. “What the hell. Dorcas I swear if this is one of your games I’m going to get you.” The male warned, but no reply came, just another scream for help. He struggled to break his binds and finally managed to do so after a few minutes.

“This isn’t funny!” Xavier rose to his feet, heading in the directions the screams had come from. By this time the man was very annoyed. Why does she do these things and torment me? To be on the safe side he drew out his sword as he drew closer to the clearing by the river. When he entered the clearing, he could feel a shift in the dimensional space. So she is playing with me. That girl….I’m going to have to teach her a lesson. The illusion the woman had created began. As expected he had to fight with the illusionary assailant. Unfortunately for him he hadn’t expected this illusion to seem so real. The lines between reality and fantasy were very blurred causing some confusion at moments.

What was real and what was not merged perfectly once the final scene of Dorcas’s little trap had played. It all ended with another attacker. A man clad in black and red appearing and killing the illusionary Dorcas. The woman was watching emotionlessly, as she knew that this was only one of her many fates depending on the choices she’d make in the future. This finally scene caused Xavier to lose it. He transformed into his beast form and berserk, easily taking out the ‘attackers’ before rushing over and kneeling beside the illusionary Dorcas. “You idiot….why?”

The warming sun promised a perfect day for farming. The crops had began peeking from the fertile soil and the orchids were now leafy and dark green. A flock of sheep baaed and grazed on the lush grasses by the stream. Calla smiled as she emerged from her small cabin and soaked in her surroundings. The farm was everything to her. It was all she wanted and all she needed. Though her farm brought her much silver and gold, so much that she could afford nicer things and a better home, but she preferred the simpler side of life. The cozy and comfortable, not wealthy and eye catching. The produce produced on her farm were always perfect and tasted greatly better than any of those from the other farms that would sell in the city. And though Calla knew that she could make much more, she made her products as affordable as she could for the everyday families that lived in the slums of the city she traveled to most.

"Loki, it's another beautiful day." She smiled down at the small, furry creature that always trailed after her. For a ferret, he was much larger than what most would think. Loki was indeed larger than most of his species, but he was incredibly loyal to Calla. With strangers, not as friendly. Often in the marketplace, children would attempt to pet the ferret, but after several discouraging hisses and snapping of his sharp teeth, they would quickly retreat.

Loki climbed up Calla's leg and torso and found his perching place on her shoulder. Smiling still, the human girl made her way to the small dairy barn where she kept a few dairy cows to begin her morning ritual. First milk the cows, feed the bulls, brush the horses, water the garden, move the flock of sheep to the east side of the farm for the day, fertilize the orchards, and that was just her morning. Then she would make a trip to the market with canned fruits, wool, and fresh milk to sell.

"We better get started, my sweet boy. Think you can get out of work by being up there on my shoulder, do ya?" Calla giggled and pet the ferret lovingly and opened the barn doors.

Crouched down on her knees and singing softly Aella was busy picking potatoes out of her garden. She had been out in the garden for the better part of an hour picking everything that was ready to be picked. It was one of her favorite places and she could often be found there singing along with the little fairies and pixies. Dusting her hands off she flicked her wrist at the basket filled with vegetables, sending it into the cottage. After standing up and stretching for a second she wiped the dirt off her keens.

Aella was just about to head into the cottage when she heard screaming in the distance. Her head whipped around and a split second later she was off running in that direction. As she passed through the gate her right hand shot out and a staff appeared in her hand. Running as fast as she could the Elvin witch quickly ate up the distance between her and the screamer. Sensing something in the air Aella went from an all out sprint to being completely still in a span of seconds. Lifting her chin up in the air, it was almost as if she was sniffing something, she sensed her surroundings.

She took a few steps forward and stopped again. The witch part of her sensed and smelled magic all in front of her. Using her powers she sent out feelers to touch the magic to determine what it was. Illusion.. was what came back at her. Shaking her head she quickly looked around and spotted two things. A man crouching down in the area the magic was coming from and a woman a few feet away. Sorceress.. was her thought of the woman. Aella quickly made her way over to the woman and stopped a few feet away from her. "You need to let him out of the illusion Sorceress," she said quietly.

Dorcas’s face was emotionless, though a hint of sadness could be seen if someone was to look deep enough into her crimson eyes. She glanced at the woman that was now near her. Her first thought was elf at first, but there was more to this woman she thought to herself. “I shall let him out in due time. I just need to confirm something. Once I have my answer he shall be free.” The woman’s eyes went back to that of her friend. Watching intently as the male cursed while crying. The male’s words struck a cord with her, but the emotion it caused her to show was fleeting. A smirk formed on her lips when she heard him say that he would teach her a lesson. That was something she'd like to to see him try to do.

Xavier let out a howl which turned to a growl of anger. He cursed at the girl’s limp body. “Did the promise that we made each other when we were younger mean nothing? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since you shut everyone out. Though I swear if this is all just another one of your games I’m going to teach you a lesson you won’t forget any time soon.” There were tears streaming down the males face as he spoke. It was clear that he truly cared for the woman whose body he knelt beside even though he had said some harsh things.

((sooooooo short...sorry!))

Aella stared into the eyes of the Sorceress, not missing a thing. Though it was fleeting she saw sadness even though it was masked behind an emotionless face. She frowned when she told her she needed to confirm something before she let the man out. Shaking her head Aella took a step forward. "You need to let him out now. Illusions are a powerful magic when set upon others and upon to caster." The witch sent out a quick feel for the girls magic and nodded slightly. "You have premonition no? Why not use that instead of this magic?"

The Elf hated illusion magic, to her it was on the side of dark magic and should only be used in grand circumstances. It messed with the minds of everyone involved, especially if the illusion was used for a dark purpose. Though she had only met a few Sorceress and didn't exactly know how their illusion magic worked. For witches it was bad to use.

Dorcas pay little attention to the new comers warning. She knew well what could possible happen, but right now this is a risk she had to take, at least in her opinion. There was no doubt in her mind that she would receive a lecture later and possible more depending on how pissed Xavier was. “If only it were that simple,” she whispered, whether the answer to the woman’s question was her talking to herself or actually answering the woman was unclear. As she spoke the illusion disappeared. Some of the answers she was seeking had been answered, but one important one had not. It was clear now that only time would tell her what she seeks, since even her power of premonition could not and neither could using her other magics to recreate the vision.

All signs of the mischievousness she had shown earlier were totally gone. She wobbled slightly as she took a step towards the clearing. A light curse could be heard from her as she put her hand against the tree. After a moment she looked over at the Elf. “I know that you don’t like what I did and that you probably don’t like me for what I am either, but if you are worried then go on to him. I assure you there was little harm done to him from my magic.” Her words were stern though her voice was weak. Dorcas didn’t really care what the woman thought of her. Everyone had their own opinions.
