To my dearest Lise,

Hark! The floorboards crack and whine. A shadow approaches, but there is little to fear. It is the fair Lise, come to honor us with her presence. Like a gossamer sheet, she floats through the room commanding all to awe at her form. Eyes cast away, I fret that should mine eyes fall upon her my heart would be lost for all time. It is for Lise that we come. It is for Lise that we hope. It is for Lise that we want.

Musing over those now wholly in her control, Lise moves about the room. I slip for but a moment and am lost. I gaze upon her with my foolish eyes. I think I even see her smile a bit knowingly. She has felt my love. She can feel my eyes upon her. I try to look away, but my heart does not allow it.

I go weak at the knees and fall to the ground, incapable of sustaining my own weight. In my mind, I can hear Lise laughing at my folly. I can hear her musing at my incapability to resist, yet her face remains motionless. Her eyes fall upon me for a brief moment and our minds connect. She can see everything that I am, and I can feel her probing my mind. Then, in an instant, it's gone. Lise has moved on to her next quandary and I am left alone to recover.
