Since Menewsha started there has been a summer user-ran event where the users give back to the site. I am curious to see if anyone is interested in helping with such an event. Personally I would love to see the tradition continue on. I myself have helped with the event almost every year. So is there anyone interested in helping to hold a summer user-ran event?

What is a user ran event?

Kyuru: a user ran event is like a normal one only the staff aren't in charge and there are no new items.
But there are a ton of games and contests and good times.

After last years fun I'd love to see something like it again. (It's Nephila btw)

I don't have anything in planning. Actually I was hoping someone else would take over the planning this year. I don't mind being the main planner again as long as I have someone to help me with it.

I remember last year it was a camping, right? And I think we had a beach themed one and a casino one before as well.

What other summertime event ideas could there be without repeating a theme. Maybe a Fire Festival?

Well, in Finland we celebrate "Juhannus" which is usually held in midsummer and it's the day when the night is shortest in the year.
I think it could be good theme, if it hasn't been used yet? I haven't been any summer in Menewsha, so this kind of tradition is unfamiliar to me

Yes there's similar bonfire festivals all threw out Europe to celebrate the Summer Solstice. :)

Well the past events have been a summer carnival, pool party, circus, casino, and summer camp.

Some type of event to celebrate the Summer Solstice is a great idea. We don't do much to celebrate it here in the US, but lots of other countries do so it would be very fitting.

What about a summer festival to Celebrate Menewsha's gods, Calesco and Naias?

That sounds interesting. I am always up for something new, Is there any other gods besides Calesco and Naias?

I don't remember for sure. I'd have to go look it up. I know that those are the two main ones who created the island according to legend.

I was actually thinking of checking to see if there was any interest for this year, so you can definitely count me in.

I rather like the idea of celebrating Menewsha's Gods. Diana's Grace made me wonder if Diana wasn't a Menewshan goddess as well. That aside, we could likely ask the staff if there are any others, or possibly invent som minor ones ourselves, and use the event to make them Mene canon.

I like the idea as well. I was looking at the Myths and Legends of Menewsha in the Information Desk and I only seen Calesco and Naias other than the three goddess' that we celebrate during Celes Paradi.

I'm all for all for seeing if we'd be allowed to invent a few new minors gods/goddesses, and holding various contests and games that focused on the domain of said gods and goddesses. That way it gives us a chance to create games or a contest around a myth, or a myth around the games/contests, whichever the person hosting prefers.

I...think that made more sense in my head...

It would be interesting if we could make our own minor gods and goddess. I would think that Menewsha has some, but they haven't really been introduced other than in the form of CI and item names. Such as Diana, Tapio, Iris, and Indra. Of course I could be total wrong about this.

Another idea would possible something that celebrates the NPCs or our hardworking staff members.

I love the idea of a solstice celebration. A tribute to the gods/goddess' of Mene would lead to so many fun avatars!

It's funny that this should be the top thread. I just finished reading the "User-Ran Events" thread at the Information Desk in hopes to drum up the interest to run/help run one.

That said, I would love to help manage a thread if you're still looking for people.
Also, my mule account is due for a name change and I'd be more than happy to use it for this cause. (My treat)
